Excellent Food good service my favorite are the filet steak tips but their soups are good and sushi well prepared

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I was so disappointed by my experience that I felt compelled to share it. I was looking forward to trying this place after hearing so many good things from my coworkers. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the recommendations. I visited today during Tuesday lunch service when the restaurant wasn't busy. As a first-time customer, I had a few questions about the menu, but the cashier seemed annoyed whenever I asked and even rolled her eyes on occasions. At first, I thought she might just be having a rough day, but she was very friendly and talkative with the other staff members. The service continued to be disappointing throughout my visit, and at one point it felt like the two employees were talking about me in another language, which made me uncomfortable as a customer. The cashier and other lady looked over and at one point I was just wanting to leave. After mentioning my experience to coworkers, several told me they felt the service had declined since the middle of last year. The food was much better than the service. The hibachi was flavorful, generously portioned, and a great value for the price. The sushi seemed fresh, and I'd be interested in trying more of it in the future. The only issue was the brown soup. The mushrooms were dark brown and black in color and appeared old. Biting into them was unpleasant and made me question the freshness of that part of the meal. Overall, the food was good enough that I would consider returning, but I would likely order online rather than ordering to-go in person due to the poor customer service experience. It's unfortunate because the food has a lot of potential, but the service left such a negative impression that it overshadowed the rest of the visit. read more

I've had better sushi at a gas station in Texas. My wife spit out her food I don't know if this is just the yankee standard or if this place is just terrible. Service was good. Water tasted bad. I'd pay 50$ to alter time to where I had never experienced this restaurant lol read more

Not sure what I think yet. Ordered take out several weeks ago with coworkers and was impressed with the portion size. This week I placed order and picked it up myself. Feeling less impressed this time. Ordered chicken fried rice and asked them to add vegetables. I was told that they couldn't make chicken fried rice with vegetables but could make the vegetable fried rice and add chicken. They called me back and told me that they couldn't do that after all so I ordered just chicken fried rice. I picked up order and right away noticed a funny smell, sulfur. Not something you want to smell at a restaurant. Positive: serve large portions. I won't be back. read more

This is a tough one to review. We've been here before (maybe a year ago). The good: The food was great. We had Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp and shared 2 rolls - Volcano and Lava (I think). The not so good: The menu was dirty, the bathrooms were horible and we waited 15 minutes for a server. They lost track of us I guess. They were apologetic for it and our server was very nice. I may order for pickup next time I want their food and skip the in-store dining experience. read more

I used to live in Goshen and revisited Miso Japan while in town. They were my sister's favorite place to eat and always delicious. I was really disappointed after ordering hibachi shrimp and spring rolls. So many of the items seemed to have changed. The portions are smaller, the noodles and spring rolls are different and not as tasty, and the veggies were bland. Are they under different management than a year ago? The quality changed. We won't be returning. read more

The staff were very friendly, and the environment was nice, but the food wasn't super exceptional. The rice was either a bit dry and clumpy or slightly undercooked and the chicken just tasted not the best quality maybe. The veggies were nicely cooked though and the miso soup was great. read more

To be fair the staff was very pleasant. Food was meh at best. Hibachi chicken in a pool of oil, veggies tasted of the grill, sushi like one finds at the grocery store. read more

Based on my food this place is fantastic!! I had the Christmas roll and it was delicious! A nice mix of all the things I like rolled into a roll what more could I ask for! I just want to start off with someone not being here before the restaurant is very confusing. I understand that there is many issues in the world. But paying and reading a menu all in one motion on your phone isn't what I think when I think "let's go out to eat". I was Not at all impressed with being sat ourselves and ordering from our phones. That's just not what I was looking for when we decided to go out and eat. The worse part of the whole situation is all food items come in styrofoam/plastic containers that just get thrown away. You have to get a bottle of soda/water to drink. I just felt like there was a lot of excessive waste happening for no reason at all. The food itself was very good. Chicken and shrimp were all very flavorful. Not a single piece of rice was dry. Very good on the hibachi course. The soup was way to much for one person but had good flavor. read more

I was the first to review this restaurant when they opened several years ago and gave them a 5 star. The food is still 5 star. However, since the pandemic, they have changed the way they serve you. Before Covid, it was a traditional sit in where servers come to your table, take orders, fill drinks, etc. Now, you place your order at the front, find a seat and wait on them to call your name. You then go get your food and take it to your table. If you need anything, you have to get up and go ask for it. Also, there are no free refills on the drinks because it is in bottles now. If you want hot tea, you pay per cup. I've noticed these changes are more expensive on you, yet less on the service. The only upside to this post pandemic method of service is that there's really no one you are obligated to tip. If this is ok with you, then I'd say 5 star because the food is still great. I just think they need to return to pre Covid methods. It's better on the customer. read more

Navigate this place to try until my girlfriend that I started dating a year ago recommended it. Love the chicken fried rice, love the price point even more. The people are nice and the portions are amazing. If you want one of those late night take out sorta places, this hits the spot. read more

I love their Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp, and I also always get a Thai Bubble Tea. The entree portions are good size; you may be able to get more than one meal out of them. Good service,great suggestions. Tried the peach sake which is over the top sweet. Tried a sushi wrapped up in cucumbers and it was delicious and different. All sushi was good, no over the top exciting options, but very good. Shrimp tempura was really good. One of the better local options, clean, quick, tasty and definitely return. read more

Overall a great meal. The portions are very generous and most entrees are enough for two or leftovers. The onion soup is too good to pass up as is the sweet tea and egg rolls. There really isn't a bad item on the menu including house made sushi. The atmosphere finally seems more Japanese than Pizza Hut (which the building formally was) and the food is delicious. The only caveat is that the food is a bit on the higher end of price. read more

I have never been here before, but I will return when in Goshen. Ordering from counter or QR code at the table is no big deal. The food is ready quick and the girls are hustling to bring the food to the tables. The girls also bus the tables, so I'm not sure why reviews are knocking the service. Not to mention my tuna rolls, edamame, and miso were all tasty and not that expensive. read more

I was underwhelmed by the sushi I was served. The rice was thick and the sashimi thin. The adequate sushi at my local grocery store is better than what I was served tonight. Food aside, a young boy, apparently the owner's son, was running around the dining room and shouting nearly full voice the entire time I was dining. Unpleasant to say the least. Dine in is now available but be warned it won't be the dining experience as before. Food is still great but here are somethings to expect: - You now seat yourself - There is no waiter or waitress to take your order. You either scan a QR code and order from there or you can go to the front and order your food. This also means you'll have to order whatever beverage you'll be wanting because they do not bring any waters to the table. No one will come to the table unless the food is served to you. You will have to pay as soon as you order as well so be warned about tipping since there will be no servers. I definitely left a tip because the cooks and food preparers deserve it but I normally leave larger tips if there is a full staff working. - Food comes out all at once in carry out containers. You won't get the normal process of getting your salad and soup first, (or sushi) before your main course if you're doing hibachi. We did not get any salad with our meal, so I'm not sure if that is no longer included (price was not adjusted for the salad not being included.) - You will have to throw away whatever food you did not eat in their designated trash cans. If you ask they will give you a bag for your items you didn't finish. - Prices are the same, even though you're not getting the full service / experience of eating at a hibachi restaurant. Again, food is always good but be warned of these changes. We were slightly taken aback about their process since no one told us when we called or when we came in. For now you will not get that fine dining experience, it will be more like a fast food restaurant set up. read more

From the outside this place doesn't look like it would have the food it does. I could probably eat at Miso every day of the week. The Superman sushi roll is my absolute favorite. Definitely a must have if you're in town. read more

I had a great takeout experience for my first time tasting Miso! The service was excellent and the staff was eager and willing to make my first experience pleasant, ordering online was easy but they apologized for having some online glitches they were still working out. It was no problem for me! They offered a 10% discount for all online orders as a promotion. My order was ready within 15-20 minutes and was an easy in and out, I ordered as soon as they had opened. The inside is clean and nicely remodeled, this used to be an old Pizza Hut and it's a much-welcomed change. It's a pleasant space with uncluttered seating and an open room concept. My lunch portion was huge! For under $8 I got more than enough food for both lunch and dinner. I ordered the teriakyi beef hibachi and is delicious, I will definetely order again. It comes with your choice of salad or soup. I also order the sweet potato sushi and although it wasn't the very best sushi I've ever had it is still worth mentioning. Definitely doesn't look like much when you walk in. Decor is atrocious. You have to go to the register to order and it's brought to you in plastic to go containers (even if your dining in). What happened to this place? Since COVID they have become the fast food Japanese. They don't come to your table anymore to take your order. You scan a QR code look at the menu then go order. Some friends wanted to meet here for dinner, so we agreed. We arrived early, and since our son was starving, we decided to order drinks and appetizers to share until our friends were able to get there. There are no fountain drinks, only 20 oz. bottles. We thought this was strange, but paid no mind until my husband's bottle seemed to have already been opened before receiving it. Our waitress switched it out without compalint. Our son ordered fried oysters, and I the tofu spring rolls. They were brought out quickly, but as soon as I picked up a spring roll to put it on a plate, I noticed a dead bug (appeared to be a small roach) stuck to the serving plate under the rolls. Our server was still standing at our table talking to us, so I pointed it out to her and she apologized and removed the plate from the table and brought the dish back to the kitchen. Our son tried his oysters and said they tasted bad, so his father tried them and agreed they were most likely spoiled. The waitress returned to let us know we wouldn't be charged, and we left. Luckily our friends hadn't arrived by this time...so we just met up somewhere else. After we left, my husband mentioned that he had seen the same type of bugs in the men's restroom...I hope they get this issue resolved, but we will not be back. read more
