I used to shop here frequently for my daughter's clothes because I genuinely like their products. However, during our last visit, I was with my 88-year-old mother and my 2-year-old daughter, who was wearing an outfit we had previously purchased from this store, a salesperson stopped us on our way out and questioned my daughter's sweater, implying it may not have been purchased. The situation felt completely unwarranted and made us very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the store's intense focus on theft prevention creates an unwelcoming and unpleasant shopping experience. Very unpleasant experience today. A middle-aged white male staff member was extremely rude and aggressively accused me of taking photos in the store. He demanded that I show him my phone and prove what I had taken. This was completely inappropriate and made me feel very uncomfortable as a customer. There are two types of people who go into Kitson. The first are people who seriously want kitschy trashy items and have a way expendable bank account to throw down. Those people may or may not also be coming for a photo op, for themselves. I have never met those people. The second are people who have no intent to buy anything, are aware of that, and use this store more as a museum on how WeHo retail epilepsy works. These people know well they can't afford it and walk in fully not caring, just to make fun of everything, maybe even bringing a friend along. Like that Mean Girls-inspired pink jacket that says 400 real American dollars on it. Or the shirt that has a very common Spice Girls photo on it marked at a nice 98 dollars. Not 100, not 99, 98 precisely. Like the last time they were popular. Yes I'm in the second category. Alls well that ends well though as you'll probably round out your cruise thru here in the discount section where employees (who could care less about not making personal phone calls on the clock) stockpile all the stuff that of course did not sell. And those things die a slow death until someone adopts them for the low low price of still-too-high at about 20 bucks or so for, well, whatever exactly this store sells. Currently discounted is a very distasteful and untimely "Palisades Dog Mom" sweatshirt. Yes it is still on full display. Thankfully, whoever you are, there is free parking next door, and you definitely should be in and out of here in way less than two hours. read more

Kitson is a gift shop or novelty store. They sell quality items from good brands and everything in the store is always on trend. The pieces in this shop all are bubbling with personality. I used to really love this shop but, for some reason, it just doesn't thrill me like it used to. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the store was the loud music. I am a music lover but I like the volume to be in the background and more on the quiet side when I'm shopping. I went over to the sale section to check out the clothing. It is summer and I found a lot of winter items which definitely makes sense but I did not feel like trying them on as it was too hot and out of season. The price at 50% off for a sweater I was admiring was still very pricey and I really didn't need it so I passed on the item. Metered parking on street. Near Cedars Sinai Hospital. Staff there is awful, manager is the worst. The manager hasn't even trained her staff to verbally let everyone know that returns are store credit only. The manager claimed she would get back to me after she talks to the owners- 6days later, still nothing. I wouldn't have expected anything more or less from some chick that manages a retail store. I'm sure she threw my info away as soon as I walked out. They're as trashy and disgusting as they seem from the outside regarding how they used to blast celebrities. Focus on training your staff instead of trying to bring down celebrities. I went back today to get my store credit since the female manager in her 50s couldn't do her job and couldn't bother to call me back. This time the male manager in his mid to late 60s that looked more like a disheveled homeless person scolded me and told me that by law they didn't need to verbalize their policy and that it's written. He then proceeded to say that the reason they don't verbalize it is bc they get foreigners that "cant even speak English". Clearly this old man is racist and has issues. I also reminded him that his peer couldn't be bothered to do her job and call me. He said that she was sick. People in retail should know that customer service 101 is that no one wants to hear an excuse. This business is really awful. Take your money somewhere else read more

I really like this as a little gift shop place to find fun things to send my friends, family, loved ones. Lots of cute gifts under $25 if you want fun little cute items to hand out, some definitely more expensive things if you're so inclined. And many of the employees there are a lot of fun. I was just refused service at Kitson On Robertson for wearing a mask. I said it was my right to wear a mask, and then manager guy grabbed the shirt I was going to purchase out of my hand, called security, and shouted to not sell me anything. THE WORST! I came to the store to buy Christmas gifts for my family, when I got harassed by the manager for touching the objects while looking for the gifts. Suddenly, something fell on the floor, he accused me of pushing the object and yell at me that I should be paying for it front of everybody. I agreed to pay because even I believe it wasn't fair, I did not want to argue with him, but he kept yelling and he insulted me. But the worst is that he attacked me on my physical appearance, saying that my Celine sneakers were fake (which they were not I got them few days ago at the store) and tried to humiliate me as much as he could front of the costumers. I have been living in Beverly Hills for 6 years and I have never been treated this way in any others store in Los Angeles, or anywhere else. This man was extremely mean and so aggressive. PLEASE BE CAREFUL going to this store. I have never experienced something like this and even we can have a bad day sometimes, there is no need to be so aggressive and bully a customer front of others. Great if you want to pay hugely inflated prices for things you can buy from a local artist on Etsy.....yeah, you will find stuff on Etsy and magically a few months later it shows up at Kitson for 5x the price. Why did I walk into Kitson? (Excuse me, Kitson Kitross - stupid name.) Mainly because I was surprised to see a Kitson still around; curiosity got the better of me. I thought mankind was thankfully rid of those horrible stores several years back, but here it is again, popping up like an unsightly sore. As we all suspected, Kitson truly is the herpes of retail. But this time, it's so much worse: Whereas its previous iteration was flashy and gauche, it still sold things that could be considered of value over a decade ago: Hudson jeans, Oliver Peoples sunglasses, Costume National fragrances. But this Kitross thing is a different bottom-scraping level of trashy entirely. I don't see any famous brands of clothing like the old Kitson had; instead, tables are piled high in cheap-looking knockoff t-shirts such as "California" in what's meant to be the Supreme logo. Kitson Kitross is nothing more than a Hollywood Boulevard-style souvenir shop full of cheaply made tourist crap ― but this stuff is aimed at people silly enough to spend upwards of $100 per shirt to say they bought it a few doors down from The Ivy. Other items (t-shirts, sweatpants, even throw pillows) feature such douchebag, often misogynist sayings like "Sorry girls, I only date supermodels" or "I'm kind of a big deal." They're so lazily executed that no one even bothered finding a different font than the default Tahoma or Courier when making them ― but they're still charging up to $92 for these no-brand Garment District-level items. They're the 2008 equivalent of "No Fat Chicks." Yeah, 2008 ― that feels like about the right spot in the Zeitgeist for this Kitson: If you know someone who was a huge fan of "The Hills" and just woke up from a decade-long coma, doesn't care how ridiculous they look, and wants to waste a lot of money on really crappy clothes, then Kitgarry Kitross is that person's sartorial nirvana. Kitson used to be a handy (if slightly overpriced) place to get fun gifts and cards (though the clothes are silly and absurdly spendy). Hadn't been in years (since they re-opened at this location) and was absolutely shocked at how much MAGA crap was in the store. "Let's Go Brandon" tchotchkes and Nancy Pelosi toilet paper. Really made me uncomfortable in this bluest of blue cities. Not to mention--not fun for a silly store like this. And now reading other reviews saying they harassed people in masks? No, Kitson. I heard Kitson was a conservative business but didn't think much of it. When I got there, it felt uncomfortably Trumpy and tense in this store. The owner made me take off my mask! I had an important event coming up so was being extra safe in the week leading up to it but he wouldn't allow it. I decided to move past that and shop for a gift I needed to get. But there were so many pro Trump/Republican products for sale, one after another (and nothing on the liberal side)...that mixed with the strict no mask policy and the owner being super rude...I just didn't feel right supporting this business, and you can buy it all online anyway. read more

I visited this store in September of 2018 and found tons of cute stuff for my kids. Unfortunately, I also paid for the cuteness of the items I purchased. The woman who helped me was amazing and very helpful, but the prices were a bit high for the items being sold. I paid $145 for a tiny cardboard baby book, 2 small plush unicorns, a tiny led unicorn light (are you sensing a theme lol), and a small set of 4 tiny cardboard child books. I know things are pricey in Los Angeles, but this was literal price gouging. It is a neat place for a nostalgic souvenir though. read more

The owners conspiracy theories and total lack of safety regarding covid have soured me. This is a retail store. I do NOT want to have politics thrown down my throat when I'm shopping. Super fun spot, esp for gifts! Always can find something unique and hilarious here. My only problem here was when I bought a bunch of gifts over the holidays and since I was still doing more holiday shopping, I asked about return policy and was told not to worry about it, they extended it till after the holidays and I'll definitely will be able to return if I change my mind. I used most of the gifts, except one thing - when I came back to return, they issued a store credit and said that they never accept full refunds, only store credits. Well it would be nice to know this when I asked about returns in the first place. It was a minor return, maybe $20 - but was a bit annoying. But now I know. :) read more
