I previously wrote a 5-star review about the sales dept. The service dept. rates the same 5-star review. Our son has taken the car he bought through the sales dept. to the service dept for the required/recommended maintenance and told me how friendly they were. He even talked me up to Brent and ME up to Brent. So there was anticipation on both our parts. I was not disappointed and I trust Brent wasn't either. Brent immediately puts you at ease when you're first standing at the counter. I've never experienced such friendliness and confidence at any other auto dealer service desk, and rarely at any auto repair place. David, who sits next to him, is just as friendly. The oil change and vehicle inspection charge was fair and the turnaround time was quick--1 hour. Brent also had entered on my receipt the recommended service for next time and the estimated cost+tax. Oh, they also rotate tires for free on a specified schedule. This saves me from making a separate appointment at Costco where we bought the tires. Another added bonus. In this day of COVID, my son warned me masks aren't worn at the dealership. Well, I wear mine and I'm fully vaxxed and boosted and simply THRIVING with antibodies. So, I'm good. When I got home, I told my son and my wife that Brent and David were so friendly and conversational that it was like I was taking my car to a couple of friends who run an auto repair shop. THESE are the guys we're bringing our vehicle to for servicing from now on. At some future point they'll be servicing the vehicle we bought from the sales dept. read more

UPDATE: I had to sign documents to waive the extended warranties yet kept my GAP. These additional warranties cover basically everything normal car insurance covers except KAO charges $6,000 + $3,500 "accessories" for this. However, due to their mistake, I have to wait 6-8 weeks for $9,500 to fall off of my loan with the lender and refinance to lower my note to what it should have initially been. Additionally, I've emailed TWICE about the brake pad warnings popping up on my car when I haven't had it two weeks and my dealer warranty is still 3 months. No one has been responding, so my next move is to show up to the dealership. I will not be changing my review to add stars unless my brakes are fixed or someone compensates me for having them fixed elsewhere. Shop here at your own discretion, but heed my warning...there are far better places to go, especially if you are a woman. __________________ OP: I had an extremely long review written out, but it has since expired so I will come back to re-write this at a later date. Finance added $3,500 in charges for "accessories" (car didn't even come with a spare tire much less accessories) and United Care Care ($6,000 undisclosed) onto my contract without showing me beforehand. I had my son with me, so I was a little preoccupied, but the finance employee breezed over paperwork without disclosing line items. I got home and read through my paperwork far more thoroughly and noticed these charges. I saw a listing on Facebook for a 2023 Lincoln SUV. I filled out my information and submitted. I was contacted via text and asked if I would like to book an appointment. I said no, I do not want to book an appointment. How much is the vehicle? I was sent a text with the amount of the vehicle as well as photos. I looked through the photos and decided to go another direction. The next day I continue to receive text messages so I responded with STOP just like any other time Im receiving text messages that are no longer relevant. STOP requests to be removed from the texting and contact list. Next, I received a phone call confirming that I have typed STOP via text. The person then began askingmore questions...Do I want to come in? Am I buying a vehicle? Have I already bought from them? This was after I had already asked for communication to STOP. I finally hung up the phone. From there, I continue to receive text messages, which I replied STOP. I then said I do not want to receive any more communication. Please STOP calling me. Please STOP texting me. YELP- I wish you had an option to post screenshots. The person that is calling me and text me was apparently the "BOSS" or owner. He accused me of wasting his time. He accused me of making fake inquiries. Following i received more text messages from him. I told him to STOP contacting me or I would contact the attorney general and he said "Good, do it'" "He'll just tell you to stop making fake inquiries". Obviously this dealership has been dealing with fake inquiries of some sort. The fact that their solution is to accuse buyers that don't purchase from them as as fake or wasting their time I completely unprofessional and unhinged. There was absolutely no reason to continue engaging text or phone call. After seeing the photos and the price, I am simply not interested in the vehicle. I can't even imagine having gone through with going to see the vehicle or God forbid purchasing from them. I've purchased a vehicle before and something went wrong within the first week after the purchased. I can only imagine what it would be like to have to deal with these people. ***Shop elsewhere. Justin in sales is fantastic--honest, personable, and genuinely cares about his customers. Unfortunately, the service department is an entirely different story. I bought my car here over a year ago, and my dash is lit up like a Christmas tree. I brought my car in for a check engine light under a "free diagnostic" promotion. After they couldn't identify the problem, I was told they would charge over $250 for a compression test. After determining my compression was fine, they asked to keep my car overnight "to cool down" for further diagnostics. The next morning they gave me a $6,000 estimate for a supposedly blown head gasket. The inspection report included photos with time stamps from over three weeks earlier, and the photos and videos had different dates, long before my car was even in the shop. I sought second and third opinions--both confirmed my head gasket is fine. On top of that, when I picked up my car, the engine cover hadn't been reinstalled. When I called service, staff refused to take responsibility and blatantly said, "I trust my tech," claiming "there wasn't one" regarding my engine cover. Janae (service desk) heavily expressed it was a Friday afternoon and everyone was gone until Monday. I requested that Randy, the service director, look into this and get back to me immediately--but a week later, and I've heard absolutely nothing. I went to kitsap auto outlet and negotiated a vehicle came to an agreement and found out later what we agreed too was not what was signed ended up paying $200 more a month on a truck that I will end up paying 3 times what the blue book is saying it is worth in mint condition. The paperwork also lists extras that are not even on the truck. The salesman and financial sales men are fast talkers and they do not tell the truth to what you are signing for. Do not trust this car dealership, my car got totalled by a drunk driver on new years and i desperately needed a new one and I came to kitsap auto and they sold me a POS with a million problems. I have put more money into this car within the last 3 months that I have spent on any car ever. Has power train issues that they tried to cover up with a bad fix rather than actually fixing the problem because they knew how much it would cost. Spending $4000 to fix my "new" car is absolutely absurd and i would never recommend this place to anyone. Thank god I didnt waste money on the warranty because conveniently the issue with my car isnt covered anyway. The book and the cover doesn't match. Let me start at the beginning. About a year ago(2023) a friend of mine bought a vehicle from KAO. When I co-signed the payments were reasonable less than $400 per month something affordable. They kept good on their word for the auto coverage. Forward to this year (2024) they called my friend up and talked her into trading in the vehicle for something newer with 100,000 less mileage. I tried to talk her into keeping the vehicle she has paying it down, building up equity in credit. KAO Staff talked her into, The more miles you put on it it The less the vehicle trade in value is worth as in it diminishes with every mile. As in once a vehicle hits 150,000 miles the trade in value goes down from $9,000 to $10,000 to near $2,000 or less. Convincing her to trade in for a newer vehicle with 100,000 less miles. But that ok because now the payments went from around less than $400 per month on one vehicle to slightly over $800 per month on a much newer vehicle. My advice for everyone who deals with KAO to be careful. read more

I bought a 2023 Kia Sorento with 32000 miles on it.. Nick who sold me my car was great. The general Manager and my experience outside of the nice sales guy was terrible. It all seemed great until I drove off the lot. I noticed a shimmy in my car less than 10 days after my purchase. I contacted them, took my car in, the general manager drove it and told me that it was my rotors. I explained that it didn't start to shimmy until I hit about 48 mph, not when I was braking. he acted like because I was a woman and he had driven 1000 cars he knew more than me. their resolution was that my brakes supposedly were just done so the rotors would be find. never took my car into their shop to have a mechanic look at it. he told me I could make an appt for an official diagnosis but it would be $135 diagnostic testing. I told him, "I just bought my car less than 10 days ago" that didn't matter. I also informed them that they never put the valve stem caps on. I just took my car to discount tires to have the issue looked at. guess what? My tires needed to be balanced. They don't check that before selling a car? I also found out that they sold me an AWD vehicle with two different types of tires on it, which is a huge issue. you can't drive an AWD vehicle with different tires on the front and back. I will never buy another vehicle from them, I will never refer anybody to them. They do not stand behind what they sell. BEWARE, they are not honest, and they don't stand beside what they sell. read more

My husband purchased our son's first car from there and was scammed. I am still so angry- yes, at my husband, but he's a nice guy who dealt with a scamming snake of a dealership. The car was listed for $10,890. I recently learned my husband financed the car for $17,950. INSANE. I just looked at the paperwork to see they included "accessories" for $2000.00 (yet no extra accessories were added), and a $4500.00 "service contract" was added, yet nothing was given for that, as well. Yes, my husband is an idiot, as the fact that the car smells horrible due to an extreme smoker who had the car, and the oil was so old in the engine, our mechanic was shocked the engine didn't seize (which means this dealership didn't touch this car at all.) Quite a bit of body damage and obviously no car was taken when they obviously purchased this car from auction- they just placed it straight on the lot and waited for an idiot (my husband.) SHAME ON KITSAP AUTO OUTLET. They really made their money. This is a true example of slimy used car dealership. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere with better reviews. I purchased a car about a month ago and have had to put $500 of work into it already, in addition to the work that the warranty covered. I brought it back to KOA to have it "fixed" here but they didn't even test drive after to ensure that the noise was gone. Noise still present after leaving the shop and it was 4pm on Friday. Frankly after some questionable business practices, I did not want them to touch the car again. Ended up taking it to Seattle Honda (very professional and efficient) to get it repaired. Seems like KOA minimally check the cars when they do their inspection checklist. They were very unorganized and a mess of operations. They talked loudly about keys being left on the dash overnight and the car was stolen and forgetting to charge a customers for $200+ in parts. One guy seemed rather frantic and made it known that he was not having a good day while others there seemed very lax. I also do not prefer to be subjected to listening to the service manager singing along with whatever music he decided to play. It was both unprofessional and unpleasant. Thankfully I had my noise cancelling headphones but the other poor lady in the waiting room did not and she was definitely not amused. Save your ears and your wallet. Be wary and have an outside mechanic look the car over before purchase, or better yet... go somewhere else all together. read more

Hey Kitsap! I received a call from you once again about leaving a review! So here it is. I was a relatively poor person years ago when I purchased a car from this facility. I have always been into cars and decided to finally get one that had some kick to it. I bought a Mazda Speed 3 hatchback from their lot. 10,000 dollars or so. When I say that I am into cars that doesn't mean I had a clue back then what was what. This car came with a turbo and we took it for a test drive. With it being a test drive and all my previous cars being very slow it did seem to me to have some good power behind it, but again, a test drive so I didn't punch it or do anything crazy. I was relatively happy with the car until weeks later all of a sudden it felt twice as fast. One way or another the turbo kicked back in and making it feel like a completely different car. I immediately realized they sold me a broken car. Needless to say I was very angry being that I had put most of my money into it. I proceeded to pay for the turbo to be fixed only for things to fall apart time and time again. Smoke coming out of exhaust...etc etc. long story short these guys are either completely ignorant as I was or purposefully sold me a car that was broken and scammed me for my money. Fast and shady salesmen as others have said. i went in as a first time buyer (dont do that!) and they had me signing paperwork after 4 and a half hours at the place without pulling the car out fully for me to see, then condescended and blamed me for everything that went wrong and didn't even have the decency to properly detail the car, on top of sticking me with an "optional" (no one ever explained it was optional) gap coverage that "can be canceled anytime" except that, because the loan already went through you would still be paying the $116 a month for it??? and because of this "optional" coverage that they include in all of the prices they pull for you, i left with a sedan when i went for an SUV because I couldn't afford the SUV, though i would have been able to without the gap coverage read more

Excellent customer care, although I did not leave with a vehicle I left with knowledge! The salesman was not pushy and was easy to relate to as well. He was young just as I am and that made things very relaxed. The staff seemed very kind to one another and kind to their clients. While I was there a lady came in with her two young children, maybe 4 and 5. Her sales man got up from his desk after introductions and grabbed coloring sheets and crayons and allowed them to color while they made a car deal. That to me was worth the time. My salesman was quick and concise. He brought me into the finance room and the finance team allowed me to look at the numbers they were working with, no games or gimics. I was told they couldn't make the deal I wanted but offered the choice of another but with out the pressure behind it. They wanted a sale from me not to gouge me. WHERE DO I START ??? I inquired about a vehicle because the price seemed fair. I had some questions online but the internet manager said they would have all the information for me when I arrived. When I arrived, I asked if I could take it to a 3rd party shop for inspection and they said Yes but that other shops try to "tear our cars apart" because they sell and service so many vehicles that the other shops do not treat them fairly. What we noticed when we took the vehicle to a local shop was that they most likely cleared all the codes. When I asked them about that, the salesperson was speechless. He went to the manager and they were inside their office for a good 5 minutes. They tried making bogus claims and rationalizing how this could have happened since the vehicle is littered with computers and electronics and probably a mistake or error on either the local shop or the tech guy and that they would do an additional check. The red flag was when another customer walked in complaining of a similar situation and how their vehicle broke down within 2 weeks. Now I know cars are manmade and not perfect, but I had clear signs that they intentionally clear the codes on the vehicles such as sensors and check engine lights. I asked around and was referred to a mechanic that used to work there because my wife really wanted the vehicle. He told me the owner and manager would instruct the service shop to clear codes and that it was a common theme at Kitsap auto outlet. We ended up not buying the vehicle. I just want to let the public know about their criminal behavior. I am not saying all their vehicles are bad, but they have very bad business practices and ethics. "I bought a car last week and the braking system alarmed less than 5 minutes after leaving the dealership. They said sorry it's your problem. They told me it was sold as is. So much for the "inspection" they claim that gets done on every car. I've had two mechanics tell me that the code was reset for the alarm. Kitsap Auto Outlet knew of the problem, reset the alarm, then refused to help in any way once the car was driven off the lot. I looked up slimy used car dealership in the dictionary and it has a picture of Kitsap Auto Outlet. 3 calls and nothing but "Sorry, it's your problem". Now the car is in a different dealership getting the repairs done on my dime. These guys are really bad. The manager proceeded to tell me that they didn't make any money on my car sale and also said one of his guys would never reset a code like that. What's the old saying about catching someone in a lie once means they have lied before? I don't believe for a minute that they lost money on selling me a car, that is a lie. I'm disappointed that this happened. I asked them to make it right and they said no. I told them I was going to post my experience and tell anyone who would listen my story if they didn't do the right thing and pay for the repairs said he said "ok". I spent several dollars on a vehicle I couldn't drive but in the end it was not their fault. Today we purchased a car and the experience was very pleasant and I was actually surprised by my interest rate. PLEASE STAY AWAY! I will explain why sold me a vehicle without disclosing the bad title it had. when i tried to trade in vehicle, the dealer told me it's worth 50% less on trade in because of the bad title. They never cared to tell me. When I talked to my bank, they said they would never finance a vehicle with a bad title. So I literally paid 20,000 plus for a car that's probably worth 7,000. I called them and they keep ignoring my calls and they don't want to do anything about it. They are very aggressive and hostile. I looked at other reviews and I see similar complaints about selling vehicles with BAD AIRBAGS and bad title vehicles. Such as rebuilt/salvaged-frame damage vehicles. This is beyond GREED. Purchase experience - The people were nice and pleasant to work with. However, when I verified that the truck was still available that day, I was told yes absolutely. But that wasn't accurate. I also confirmed that they would honor the TrueCar price on the web site. They also said yes. When I got in there was confusion apparently they sent the truck I wanted to auto body that morning. They thought I wanted another truck. It took me several requests to get an ETA of how long it would be in the shop. They finally had the jr. salesperson break the news to me that it would be several days. The manager apologized for all the confusion and promised a full tank of gas and delivery of the truck. Financial feedback - when negotiating with salesperson I noticed they had inserted the wrong sales price that didn't match the true car estimate. They came back saying that they could match the (True)car price but the price that was on the final document was still not matching the truecar price as they had added 150 to cover the doc fee. I was assessed another $150 doc fee anyway so that was an over payment - However, I should have caught that before signing and I know used car salesman are taught to play that game of switching the price, I was just disappointed with them for that. Aftermath - The delivery of my car lacked a full tank of gas that was promised, but they did deliver it so I didn't want to quibble about that. Almost immediately I noticed a "check fuel cap" message. Thinking I just need to tighten and later replace the cap, I hoped that would fix the issue. However, it did not. I had to have the local Honda dealership replace the purge control solenoid/valve. It only cost about $500 but most assuredly was known prior to the sale. After a week or so it started exhibiting a squeel in brakes that got louder and louder as I drove. Honda had to fix that and another $500 was needed. I'm thinking the shape of the brakes was known or lessened by their "service department" in order to display the problem after the sale - they did. read more

Went to look at a ford ranger for my brother. Upon inspection the entire underneath of the truck was rhinolined to cover all the rust. Then when brought up, they seemed pretty speechless lol. Just be careful when going to look at vehicles, get underneath and check everything out. They wouldn't budge price so I didn't get it. But it's not just this lot that does things like that.
