I was just settling in to read my book when Alex came over to tell me they were able to finish early. Nice surprise to hear the checkup revealed all was well with my car and to follow up in 5,000 miles. Yes...I'll be back!

Car dealerships have never been much fun, but West Hills Kia made the experience even more…read moremiserable than usual. Despite having a very straight forward lease calculator on their website, the money guy proposed an absolutely ridiculous payment (not to mention a ridiculous offer for our used Kia.) After several rounds of the usual tiring negotiations, he finally got around to a somewhat fair deal. After waiting some time for the document guy to receive us, we were told that papers were ready to be signed. We then entered the money guy's office, only to see a very perplexed look on the man's face. What ensued was a big problem getting their computer to generate the necessary paperwork. This state of confusion (involving three associates to work out) lasted approximately an hour. During this time, we cooled our heels by waiting outside. Finally, the computer relented, documents were generated, we signed off, and the business was finally done. All told, about four hours at their dealership. And by the way, the money guy had the personality of an anvil. Not the friendliest experience, but at least it was done. Wrong!! The next day, Mr. Charm calls to say that the documents were incorrect. He would now send new ones that we'd have to sign. Naturally, the payments went up a bit at that point. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with their overall dealings, Mr. Charm then accused me of trying to pull a fast one on him. "I think you knew there was a problem with the numbers," is what he told me. If it wouldn't have been even more trouble, I would have told him to come and pick up the damned car and to forget the whole thing. Buying a car (in the old fashioned dealership way) is never a fun thing, but why it has to be this bad, I just don't understand. Bottom line, steer way clear of these folks.

Agree with J. B. No…read moreprior experience with West Hills Ford, but their service department, particularly Caitlyn, was communicative throughout the recall repair process, and was able to get me a rental when I needed it most. Their shop got the job done quicker than expected, so no complaints there either.

I was interested in a Mercedes SUV on their lot and called at 9 AM to make a straightforward offer…read more I explained that I'm currently in California, that I was ready to pay for the vehicle in advance, and that I'd like to pick it up on October 11, about three weeks out. I was also clear that I needed an answer quickly, because I was considering another vehicle from a different seller. They told me they weren't sure that would be possible. Then I waited all day. Nearly seven hours later, I finally got a text (not a call) saying they couldn't take a credit card payment over the phone or accept a deposit to hold the car until October 11. So I offered to pay the full price. They replied that they don't handle delivery. I said that was fine: I'd wire the full amount and arrange shipping myself. After that I never heard from them again. They also told me they require a wet signature on all paperwork. That means no DocuSign and not even an out-of-state notary. In 2026, that's a real obstacle for any buyer who isn't local. I was offering to pay in full for a car sitting on their lot and to handle the logistics myself, and they still couldn't make it work or give me the courtesy of a reply. If you're an out-of-state buyer, or need a dealer with any flexibility or responsiveness, I'd look elsewhere.

I previously wrote a 5-star review about the sales dept. The service dept. rates the same 5-star…read morereview. Our son has taken the car he bought through the sales dept. to the service dept for the required/recommended maintenance and told me how friendly they were. He even talked me up to Brent and ME up to Brent. So there was anticipation on both our parts. I was not disappointed and I trust Brent wasn't either. Brent immediately puts you at ease when you're first standing at the counter. I've never experienced such friendliness and confidence at any other auto dealer service desk, and rarely at any auto repair place. David, who sits next to him, is just as friendly. The oil change and vehicle inspection charge was fair and the turnaround time was quick--1 hour. Brent also had entered on my receipt the recommended service for next time and the estimated cost+tax. Oh, they also rotate tires for free on a specified schedule. This saves me from making a separate appointment at Costco where we bought the tires. Another added bonus. In this day of COVID, my son warned me masks aren't worn at the dealership. Well, I wear mine and I'm fully vaxxed and boosted and simply THRIVING with antibodies. So, I'm good. When I got home, I told my son and my wife that Brent and David were so friendly and conversational that it was like I was taking my car to a couple of friends who run an auto repair shop. THESE are the guys we're bringing our vehicle to for servicing from now on. At some future point they'll be servicing the vehicle we bought from the sales dept.
