Stellar recent service from Silverdale Autoworks!…read more I'd tried my gal at two other shops--including the dealership where I bought her--but only Silverdale Autoworks took the extra time, patience, and diligence to actually discover the issue instead of just overlooking my concerns. Once they found the situation, they promptly fixed it, charged a few bucks even lower than what I was quoted, and we were on our way! The stress from giving weeks of time and money to other shops who couldn't actually fix the problem and didn't listen or care about getting me back on the road safely...it all immediately went away with my excellent service at Silverdale Autoworks. I will absolutely go to them first thing from here on out for any and all auto needs. Please consider this glowing review to include an extra star since Yelp won't let me recommend them any higher. Thank you all for your help!

There was one major issue. I told the owner that I was going to be taking my car on a long road…read moretrip and I needed all the safety checks done, tires checked, oil changed etc etc. When I went to pick up the car I specifically asked him about the tires and he said they looked good. Part way on my trip the sidewall of one of the tires gave out. The tire repair shop was flabbergasted to find that my tires were 25 years old. I had absolutely no idea they were that old (I did not put the tires on the car, I bought it second hand). I was relying on Blue Canary to do the paid for safety checks for me. When I returned to Blue Canary and told the owner (manager?) what I had discovered he definitely did not act surprised, dismayed, or even apologetic. He said he doesn't typically check the age of the tires. Something that several tire experts I spoke to said should be one of the first things done! It is extremely fortunate that I did not end up in a serious accident. I definitely would never rely on his assurance that things were taken care of and safe. In addition to the subpar service related to tire safety I also paid a considerable sum of money to have my engine cleaned. It definitely was not cleaned (didn't look like it had been cleaned at all). A rodent deterrent pack had been put inside the hood.... A very EXPENSIVE rodent pack since it appears that was all my expensive "engine cleaning" involved. He did offer to re-clean it when I got back to town and he was willing to do so when I brought it back in. However when I started talking with him about the situation with the tires I got totally disgusted with his attitude and left. I will not be back. And if you are concerned about anything that could be related to safety I would be cautious having it serviced by Bainbridge Blue Canary.

We hired Countryside Repair to perform a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) on a diesel truck because we…read morelive out of state and wanted to avoid flying across the country for a vehicle with hidden problems. Brent seemed great... but what a joke.... Guess he is all talk. Even after kindly attempting to discuss our findings after the fact, I did not receive any response. The dealership kindly transported the truck to the shop. The following day, we received the inspection report. The only issues noted were worn shocks, a slightly hanging front brake caliper, and a recommendation to change the differential fluid. We specifically called to discuss the inspection and asked whether there were any other concerns. We were told it was a nice truck and that nothing significant was found. We even asked about engine issues and were told that scanning for codes and testing the coolant showed no concerns. Fortunately, we decided to fly out and inspect the truck ourselves before purchasing it. Within minutes of looking over the vehicle, we found multiple issues that were not mentioned anywhere in the inspection report - none of these items were observed in the PPI. * Recently replaced oil pan with obvious sealant visible * Active engine oil leak at the bellhousing area. * Recently replaced brake master cylinder and front calipers, suggesting an unresolved brake issue. * Large rodent nests and debris in both wheel well areas under the hood. * Extremely stiff steering that felt abnormal for a truck with only 69,000 miles. * Spongy brake pedal that traveled halfway to the floor before engaging. * Signs of additional repairs and modifications that were never documented. The oil leak alone was visible without putting the truck on a lift and should have been impossible to miss during a thorough inspection. I understand that no inspection is perfect and that mechanics can't predict every future problem. However, major visible issues such as an active oil leak, rodent nesting, brake concerns, and steering problems should have been identified and documented. These are exactly the types of issues buyers pay for a pre-purchase inspection to uncover. Had we trusted the report and purchased the truck sight unseen, we could have spent thousands of dollars transporting a vehicle that clearly had significant unresolved issues. The purpose of a PPI is to provide an independent assessment so buyers can make informed decisions. Based on our experience, this inspection fell far short of that standard. I cannot recommend this shop for ANY pre-purchase inspections. What a waste of money.

Isn't this always the way? You get a massive repair done on you car only for another massive thing…read moreto go down. My car's going along smoothly after the last repair only for the ominous Check Engine light to go on. Called Brent and got an instant repair slot. That Check Engine light did mean bad news but Country Side repaired everything beautifully. What we really appreciate with them is that they kept us in the loop with the repair. There was a problem getting a proper replacement for one of the major car parts which they told us about and called to let us know how they were able to handle it. That's how I was introduced to Rick, who apparently is one of the mechanics who calls customers when Brent's busy elsewhere. Another great service was that they test drove our car after the repair to make sure the car drove well and checked out before handing it back to me. When I first started the engine I was blown away. There was virtual silence as the engine quietly purred. It hasn't sounded that great since the first few years we owned it. You kind of expect a car to sound noisier as it ages and piles up the miles. We've got a new-sounding car again. The rear shocks were also replaced and now the ride and suspension feel as tight as a new car, which is exactly how I prefer a car to feel as I'm driving it around. We're really happy with the repairs, and the cost was a great deal for all the work done, including the parts. Finding a great, trustworthy auto repair shop is essential for putting down roots in an area where you've chosen to live, right up there with doctors, dentists, a host of repair people for making repairs around your house and for appliances, and things like that. Country Side remains the best auto repair shop we've ever found in Kitsap County.
