Fantastic service! Came to my home and got my 1964 IH Scout up and running after 10 years of being parked!

I knew I wanted to replace the original wall with something that reflected local scenes but had no idea of how even to articulate what I wanted. Fortunately, Ben Brager had endless ideas of what that wall replacement might look like and with the patience of Job emailed me design after iterated design until all the elements came together for me. Large herons, shore birds, cat tails and grasses growing out of the water the birds are wading through. Not only is it a beautiful work of art, it is also up to code so that nothing can fall through it to the stairs below. The metal design was pleasing enough as it was but Ben was able to use acid washes to bring different color finishes to the piece. When I first saw the panels I fumbled and mumbled and bumbled suggestions as to how the colors might work. Ben politely nodded and then set out to make it even more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. As the light moves and changes during the day, so do the colors of the heron panels, bringing them almost to life and creating an ever new scene. Throughout the process from the inception of an idea all the way through to installation, Ben could not have been nicer to work with. I honestly do not have enough superlatives to describe my experience with Monarch Metals--Ben, Pam and Todd-- and would urge anyone who has the inklings of any project large or small, indoors or out, to call them.

On April 12, 2024 I took my Subaru to Ken's Northwest Automotive. It was due for a regular…read moreservicing, and they had previously recommended replacing the front brake pads. Also, the alternator light had come on. They changed oil and topped off the fluids ($71.95). They tightened the fan belt to prevent the alternator light from coming on (87.50), and installed new front brake pads ($269.00). They also resurfaced the front rotors ($60.00 and installed new windshield wiper blades at ($49.90). I picked up the car just before their shop closed, stopped for groceries, and drove home. The generator light came on AND STAYED ON. There are several traffic lights on the 17 mile drive home, and each time I slowed to observe the red lights, the front BRAKES VIBRATED to the point that the steering wheel shook. And no, that wasn't a malfunction in the ABS. I would have been ok with wiper REFILLS, but they installed large Rain-x WIPER BLADES, which would look fine on a GMC 4X4, but not on a small Subaru. I had not requested wiper replacement, and they never called to ok the charge. The following morning, the car wouldn't start. I ordered a new alternator from NAPA, it was delivered in about three days, and I installed it myself. No more alternator light. The car is driveable, but health issues prevented me from addressing the brakes until now. Thankfully, I have an old clunker that I could use. I have an appointment with the Subaru Dealership (34 miles) next week. I figure the Dealership is more inclined to be accountable for their work. They may be able to order OE wiper blades. The total bill on this visit was over $600.00. The only part of this repair visit that didn't BACKFIRE was the oil change. Pretty high price for just an oil change. Tightening the fan belt accomplished NOTHING. And I don't believe they resurfaced the rotors. I'll never return to Ken's Northwest Automotive. This was the WORST experience I've ever had at any repair facility in my life. Apparently the technician didn't THINK to test the alternator. And the brakes? What if someone leaves Ken's shop to pick up their kids at school, and drive through a school zone?? With defective brakes? Admittedly, that's an extreme example, but -- WHAT IF? This repair shop has changed in recent years. And not for the better. There's nothing worth recommending about Ken's Northwest Automotive. This was a bad, bad experience.
