I've used the same dry cleaning establishment for roughly 50 years. Also, I prefer to have my non-knit shirts dry cleaned and not laundered. Recently I was charged for removing a blood stain that I didn't know existed (and I'm usually good at checking and pointing out any stains when I leave my clothes). That $12 charge prompted me to consider changing dry cleaners, so I decided to send 6 shirts each to Kite's and to my long-time dry cleaners in order to make a side-by-side price and quality comparison of the two cleaners. I was shocked to learn that Kite's was 43% higher for 6 shirts than the company I have been using. Today, for the first time, I wore one of the shirts cleaned by Kite's. The shirt looked good - no better or worse than shirts done by my long-time dry cleaners. However, the Kite's shirt has an unpleasant smell that I've not experienced with my existing dry cleaning company. Although I don't know for certain, my guess is that the smell comes from the cleaning fluid used by Kite's. I know Kite's has been in business a long time and that their customers must be satisfied. However, based on the significant cost of cleaning difference AND the smell, I'll stick with my long-time cleaners. read more

Can I say sticker shock! 4 mens button up shirts, a shacket type mens shirt, lastly a woman's pair of trousers. 6 items cost $78. The mens shirts were $12 a shirt for dry cleaning. Outrageous pricing! They are not upfront with pricing although they require a card on file. Pricing is more than double from what I experienced at other dry cleaners. Dry cleaning was dry cleaning, nothing extra special done. If you wanna save some coin try somewhere else. read more

We switched to Kite's after Overton Park Cleaners closed. We'd been going to Overton Park for 30 years and were sad I was gone. Kite's is the closest to us, so we have it a try. WOW are they expensive. We couldn't figure out why the bill kept coming in at around $200. A dress of any size is $20! A very little digging showed that Hulen Cleaners is run by the same people as our former Overton Park friends. They still had our old account information. It's a bit further of a drive but great to find the old wonderful service at a reasonable price. read more

Then supposed to be ready by 5pm & is not. leaving town at 4am tomorrow without my clothes! Kite Cleaners is AWFUL. The staff is unfriendly and act annoyed to help wo down customers. In addition, the prices are ridiculous and they do a terrible job cleaning. We paid $65 for 5 pieces(pants) and the pants were not pressed, as we requested at drop-off, and there are clear signs of the pants not being properly cleaned. We sopped at two cleansers to see how much it would cost to clean a king size bed spread. Kites and the other establishment each quoted $40. We decided to go to Kites and when we picked it up we were charged $76. When we questioned the charge they said there was nothing we could do about the cost - if we wanted the bedspread back it would cost $76 - did not care what we had been told. Just moved here. Called to ask about getting our drapes/curtains dry cleaned. The lady who answered said she didn't know what they charge then hung up. When I called back, she said it was by the inch but no idea what they charge and to maybe call back another time. You just lost a potential customer and hopefully many more who read this spot on review. If you treat potential customers like that, why would I want to step in your store? read more

They are extremely expensive. I used them for just a few items, and they ended up losing a silk blouse. The manager tried to convince me that it would be returned.... Kite's May be expensive but you get what you pay for. They cleaned my wedding gown and my daughter's debutante gown. It was expensive but they did a professional job with no damage to either gown. They also got black icing out of my son's white suit which had been left in the cargo area of my SUV for most of the summer. They have gotten stains out of clothing that other cleaners said wouldn't come out. If I have had buttons missing or hems coming undone, the repairs are made. I recommend Kite's to everyone who needs top notch professional dry cleaning. read more

They are the only certified wedding dress cleaners you can find locally, and they are wonderful! I took my wedding dress here to be cleaned, as I bought I used and it had a fair amount of dirt on the hem and bodice. She quoted me the full cost BEFORE I dropped it off so I could decide if I was willing to pay or not. They did an amazing job, and made the dress look brand new again! They had a quick turnaround, less than two weeks for a huge double layered lace gown. I'm so happy I chose them, and highly recommend them for cleaning or restoring a wedding dress. read more

Bad experience? You decide.... I'd seen great reviews for Kite's Custom Cleaners on yelp and decided to give it a try. I went to the Hartwood location. I brought in my own personal items (@ 9 items) and two job fair large-sized tablecloths from my company to be dry cleaned. I asked for a new customer discount and they handed me an envelope and said 'check in this for discounts'. I opened it up - nothing about discounts and they seemed annoyed that I was asking. I explained that I had a number of items and that I was trying out this new place after hearing great things and was hoping for a new customer discount with so many items. Reluctantly they went to the back (I think to ask the others) and came back to the register and said, 'ok' I got you a discount of 15%. - not exactly the customer service that I was expecting from the other reviewers...but it doesn't end here. A couple days later I received a call from them which went something like this: Girl#1: Hi. I wanted to call and let you know that after measuring the tablecloths that it will cost you $96.00 each tablecloth to have them cleaned. Me: What!? Why is it so much? They're just tablecloths (nothing special, except they're used at job fairs so need them to look very professional) Girl#1: Well, I measured them and with (xlength by xwidth times .005) the cost is this much. Me: Is there something I can do to make it less expensive? Girl#1: Yes, you can take them home and wash them and bring them back for us to press. Me: Well, that's not exactly what I meant.... Can I speak with someone else - a manager? Girl#1 gives the phone to Assistant Manager. AM: (not very pleasant) How can I help you? Me: Well, here's the issue (as described above)...is there anything you can do? AM: We can add in the 15% discount...this comes to @ $82.00 each. Me: Gosh, that just seems like a lot to pay for dry cleaning a tablecloth. Is that the best you can do? AM: Yes, that's our bottom line. You can come get them if that doesn't work for you. Me: I see...is there a store manager available? AM: (annoyed), yes just a minute. Manager: (new voice comes on the phone and she launches in - clearly annoyed and without introducing herself) ..as we said before, that's our bottom line. If that doesn't work for you then you can come get them. Me: I'm sorry, who is this? Manager: I'm the manager. There's nothing else that we can do. You can come and get them and take them somewhere else if you'd like. Me: Ok then, I'll come get them in a few minutes. Manager: Fine. (Seriously???!!!) ...I went directly to that location within 10 minutes and asked for my tablecloths. The AM got them and, as I left I said "I'll be sure to let people know through Yelp about my experience". She said something kind of unpleasant under her breath as I left. I then drove about a block away to another dry cleaners. When I handed them the tablecloths I asked about pricing. They charged me $15.00 per tablecloth, were very pleasant, and I now have a great dry cleaners that I'll be frequenting more often. I'm a reasonable person and not ruffled easily - except when there's a significant amount of ruffling. Overpricing ($96.00 per tablecloth versus $15.00!), Customer Service (AM and Manager) was serious ruffling and just doesn't measure up to get my business. Note: Just to be fair, this happened during the holidays (between Christmas and New Year's) and they may have been having a bad day. Still, the experience was bad enough for me want to let others know about the overpricing - and the experience I had when I questioned it. read more

My interview suit was returned to me with seams showing through the fabric. I had to buy a new $200 suit and pay for the dry cleaning of the ruined suit. The plant manager (Ronald) said it had been over pressed. He offered to credit me for the dry cleaning. However, I did not receive a refund when I returned to the store. read more

This place took over a week and a half to return the 3 dress that I had dry cleaned, and an additional 3 weeks to have a sleeping bag cleaned and returned. This place is a ripoff with a horrible turn-a-round time. I'm never using it again! read more

You guys are the best! Our clothes always come back nice and clean. We use the location on Hartwood. Tried your location on Camp Bowie, staff is just not friendly. Glenda, at Hartwood, and her crew are always friendly, professional, and helpful. It's worth the extra couple of miles to use that location. No complaints from us.
