I recently hosted a private party at Kitchen and Beer Bar in their Beer Garden on Memorial Day weekend for a surprise 30th birthday. We are locals to the restaurant and frequent there often, but this was the first party we ever hosted. There were about 40 people at the party in the afternoon. The staff is always incredible there, but they went above and beyond during the party! I would like to give a shout out to Brian who is a bartender and servers Pam and Brooklyn, they really gave it their all. They were attentive, kind, extremely fast moving and helped us with anything we needed. When I first started planning the party I met with Joe who is one of the owners, he is so nice and accommodating. I met with him a couple times to discuss the menu options and give a deposit beforehand. He also offered to find live music for me for the party--to which I happily agreed and was so glad I did. The day of the party the other owner Rich was there working it, he is awesome! The entire staff of KBB works very hard. They are hustlers, they want to please their patrons but you can tell they have a stand out work ethic. The day of the party I arrived early to set up all the decorations, being that I was in charge of bringing the guest of honor...I was very nervous. I had kept the secret for months at that point. But the staff reassured me and they offered help on anything I needed setting up. Brooklyn assisted us with setting up all the umbrellas and making sure each table was ready to go with plates/napkins etc. She also took every order and made sure it was out on time--everyone was served at once which amazed me for a party that large. When the time came I walked into the party with the guest of honor and Brian had a drink in hand ready for me, as I had briefly mentioned earlier in the day, that I would need a drink after the big surprise. It is truly the small things that make people like Brian standout. That one small gesture really meant a lot to me. Pam made sure I got to take home any of the appetizer leftovers that weren't touched. She also carried the birthday cake out while I got everyone's attention to sing. They say when you plan a party it takes a village, this was the best village I could have asked for. Dan Kee was the live singer of the day that Joe facilitated for me. He is FANTASTIC! We will absolutely be back at KBB when he is singing in the Beer Garden. If you are thinking of hosting a party and want live music, look no further. We had wings, chuck wagon taters, fried pickles, jalapeno poppers as the appetizers. Wings are always a crowd favorite but it is the other unique items that really won the party over and the abundance was outstanding. For main courses, guests had a choice of one of the following: Hottie Bird, Steak Sandwich, Fish and Chips, Cheese Burger, Modern Tacos. Everything was a big hit, I have personally eaten all of these items at KBB and they are all delicious. The food is always fresh and tastes great! They have amazing specials daily/weekly when we go in. Everyone was making jokes at the end of the party asking when the next one would be. Great food, thats why they get a three stars and ambiance to watch sports, etc however the servers staff is lacking training, experience, simply put basic customer service skills. The person who answers the phone to take orders is rude, hung up the phone without properly wrapping the conversation for a take out order. Like if you do not want to work with people, then perhaps work somewhere else - no harm no foul. Stopped in here on our way back from a little hiking in Ringwood. A friend had told us about it and said the beer selection is pretty decent. He wasn't kidding! That weekend, they were featuring Backward Flag brewery - anything to do with our awesome military, and I'm there!!!! The beers were on-point. We also had some lunch - to be honest, it was a few months back - I had a sandwich and hubby had a burger - I don't remember which ones, but we were very pleased with our meals. So, between some awesome beers and tasty lunches, we would definitely go back for more. The place itself is a little small, but there were a bunch of tables and seating for probably about 15 people at the bar. We decided to try this new place near us. We had the chicken wings cooked well. They cooked them WELL! The hot were not too hot but very good. We ordered the beef brisket poutine! This review is based on a Friday night during happy hour. We did not order food, only drinks. The place is decorated nicely and the food looked good coming out even if the portion size seemed small for the prices we saw on the menu. Next time we'll give the food a try and update the review. What I didn't care for was the layout and the lighting of the place. The bar stools and pathway to the tables is extremely close and feels a bit cramped. The people sitting at the tables have a view of people's behinds if they look to their left. I also thought the lighting was a bit bright. Overall, I think it's a cute new place and look forward to going back and giving the food a try. read more

I have to say, I was pretty disappointed, because this place came highly recommended to me. So, we order beers before our final friend got there. Takes a bit, okay no big deal. We order 2 appetizers. Fried cheese curds and wings. Both came out quickly and were hot. All is good we thought. Once our final friend arrived he ordered a mixed drink. Bartender is not busy. Mostly just talking. At that point ordering a drink takes forever. We had to twice remind our server about the drinks, this now including our beers. It wasn't busy, yet somehow ordering drinks became an arduous process. Our burgers finally come out after a long wait. I had the Kobe burger. Mine was really good. Ordered medium, came out medium. Two of my friends also ordered the same burger as medium rare. One came out edible but well done, the other should have been dropped on ice and used with a hockey stick. Inedible. I'd love to give them another chance because every issue is highly fixable, but not a good experience at all. read more

Pros: interesting beer selection, and the burgers we had were really, really delicious. Often bison comes out a bit too game-y, but this was juicy, flavorful, and rich. There wasn't anything on the menu that I don't want to try at some point. Cons: Way, WAY too loud. We couldn't hear our hostess/waitress most of the time, and we couldn't hear each other unless we shouted. The place is very small, and some sound baffling would do wonders. The table layouts are really tight and awkward, and in such a small place they feel really low next to the bar. Finally, the beer menu is interesting, and I enjoyed the flight that I ordered, but the vast bulk is just IPA after IPA. Someday, the hipster beer world will discover that there's more to beer than IPAs. Today was not that day. Wish them luck, but probably not going back. read more

The food was really really good. Gf got the impossible veggie burger or whatever you call it and I got the sliders and both were great. My sliders were juicy and had great flavor and that veggie burger...damn that tastes like meat. Everyone around us also completed the food too. Such a tiny spot, you wouldn't think amazing food but it definitely exceeds expectations. Also the bartender vinny is fantastic. Super nice guy, tentative and his drinks were great. They missed the door dash ticket which resulted in our dasher bailing on the delivery. Called doordash and got another dasher assigned. When he arrived one hour after placing the order they told him he needed to wait 20 more minutes. The food arrived with the flatbread totally cold. The "sweet and tangy" wings had absolutely no flavor. Tasted like they were rolled in flavorless jello. I honestly never want to eat wings ever again after having these.. The icecream that came with my wife's pie had freezer burn but I ate it anyways. Almost poured the icecream on the wings to give them flavor. We came for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon, and was hoping for a better experience. We sat indoors as the patio area was pretty crowded. Inside was less crowded but it did get busier. The AC was not turned, until another customer complained. I ordered a Bloody Mary and a basic burger, my daughter had a chicken sandwich. As an appy we shared fried pickles, and the corn special. The bar could not make a Bloody Mary as they had no Bloody Mary mix, so I switched to a Diet Coke. I will say the beer selection looked amazing! But what bar can't make a Bloody Mary? And then the food took forever, and I do mean a really long time. the food was tasty when it came, the burger was well done though not medium as ordered. I noticed that there seemed to be a manager, he did not come to the table nor did he seem to care about the prolonged wait time for the food to arrive. I feel like this could be a fantastic bar/eatery. But the kitchen needs to get it together, and management should be more proactive. FYI, kudos to Jillian, she was great! I'm glad we found a chill place in this area for drinks and food. I love their simple outdoor seating with umbrellas at each table (this made for a much more comfortable experience). They even had some live music, which was a great surprise on a nice summer day. Beer selection is awesome--there's definitely something for everyone's taste (not just the boring standards). Food was good (we had Boneless Wings, Philly Cheesesteak Quesadilla and Cobb Salad). The service was good as well and I would visit again to try more beers on the menu. read more

I've been wanting to come to this place for over a year since I moved to the area. I took my family on a beautiful afternoon to eat lunch outside. Upon arrival we walked inside and were never even acknowledged. We then assumed that we'd be able to be seated in the outside dining area. Nope. While there were plenty of tables available outside we were told we couldn't sit out there because there was a group of Aston Martin owners dining there and we would be better off inside. I guess the Aston Martin owners couldn't bear to have mere common folk eating in their presence. Tried here for the first time on Saturday night about 6:30-6:45, and got the last table! There was a constant line of people waiting to be seated, and there were people leaving with take out the whole time we were there. There were only two poor servers who were greeting and seating people, taking orders, delivering the food, and helping bus. They were both still so nice and we weren't in a rush so didn't mind the wait. We just got burgers and they were both very good. Definitely order extra cheese if you like a cheeseburger. For the place being super swamped it was still an enjoyable experience and we'll definitely be returning to try more. Edit: I ordered delivery from here during the virus quarantine. I got the house poutine (bbq pulled pork style) and the fried cheese grilled cheese (no calories do not count in quarantine). Both were delicious even after traveling and not eating hot out of the kitchen. They really suck you in with a creative menu and have the food to back it up.
