Ordered house salad with added steak, plus a patty melt and fries. The meal was definitely filling and hit that comfort-food craving. The steak on the salad was a nice protein add-on, though the overall combo felt a bit heavy once everything was together. The patty melt was rich and flavorful, and the fries were exactly what you'd expect--crispy and satisfying. Overall, good if you're in the mood for something indulgent, but probably better to split or pace yourself. Would come back, just might order a little lighter next time. Vwry attentive i asked for more dressing read more

eally disappointing experience. For a well-established bar, I expected much better. The service was slow, the staff seemed completely uninterested, and the atmosphere wasn't nearly as enjoyable as I expected. Drinks took far too long, and the overall experience felt disorganized and overpriced. There are plenty of other places where you can get better service and a better night out for the same money. I honestly wouldn't go back. read more

Stopped in for lunch and everything we ordered was solid. Buffalo Wings (Garlic Parmesan Tossed) Crispy, well‑seasoned, and the garlic parmesan toss gave them a great punch of flavor. Corned Beef Sandwich Piled high on buttered, grilled rye -- classic, hearty, and exactly what you want from a pub‑style corned beef. Chicken Pot Pie Comfort food done right. Tender chicken and vegetables in a creamy sauce, topped with a flaky puff pastry. Service was very good, the food hit the mark, and we'll definitely be back read more

I absolutely love their outdoor space! It's the perfect spot to hang out and relax. The entire vibe is wonderfully casual, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. It's easily one of my favorite spots to grab a bite. read more

Was not disappointed at all food good. Service great gghbnsmskdjdjejejejenejenebenebdnejejejejekejeje

my wife and I gave Thatcher McGee's a try on Saturday night. There was no wait the hostess and waitress were very friendly. The inside is adorned with knickknacks from all over Ireland and of Irish descent. Food portions are adequate pricing is fair. It can be louder times, especially when you have someone that's just running their mouth. read more

I love coming here!! Excellent service, especially when you come early. The food is so good too.

Great food friendly and attentive waiters awesome ambiance . Nice Irish decor and tasty specials.

Just had a Rachel sandwich (Pastrami) delivered via Door Dash. Was amazing. Buttery toasted rye bread, lean pastrami and yummy sauerkraut. Highly recommended. read more

Great spot for a quick bite. I had the prime French dip on a long roll with waffle fries it was delicious. My date has the fried chicken sandwich also amazing. Both portions were huge. Service was quick and staff was super friendly and took note of my allergies. The frying oil is NOT peanut oil in case anyone wanted to know. I will definitely be coming back again read more

Friendly, with good fast service. Portions are huge. Food arrived hot. Get the scones to go!

I have now gone to Thatcher McGhee's a few times for company lunches. We typically go here because it is a central location for our team, and they can accommodate a large group. There are typically 15 of us. The parking lot is rather large with plenty of parking. There is an outdoor bar area in addition to the inside area. Inside there is a bar area with dart boards and plenty of Tv's, and a dining room area. The service is always great and there have never been any issues. To me, the food is just okay. It probably isn't something I would go out of my way to have on my own time. I've have tried a few different menu items, and so far all of them have just been okay. The best items I've had so far are some of the appetizers, like the pretzels and mozzarella sticks. read more

This place is one of the best pubs around. My sister, nephew and their large dog (a boxer) came for a late lunch on a Sunday. The staff were so attentive and we sat outside (in the coveted are) and it was all around awesome. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful - they even offered to feed the pup and gave him a water bowl (how sweet is that)?! The Irish gentleman who gave us menu suggestions was super helpful. I only saw the inside of the bar when I went to use the bathroom but it's just beyond words adorable. Would definitely come back and highly recommend! read more

Nice place to hangout. Its a nice place with a great service. I tried the Taste of Ireland here. It was a perfect size to try out all thr different dishes of Ireland. It was nice causal place where people can hang out watching sports (tvs all over) and listening to a good rock music. I revommend anyone looking for a nice Irish pub to hangout. read more

Always a great time when we come here whether for a drink or food. Usually we are able to be seated on the restaurant side on the crazier nights when the bar is crowded. Service is always fantastic every time I've been here. Our server this evening Diana was beyond attentive always making sure our glasses were full, food was to our liking, and getting us our check and to go containers. It can give a bit of a dive bar vibe at times but it'll never disappoint you. Parking is often a bit chaotic now as there is a new outdoor tent built that removed some parking spots. I am a huge lover of ranch so their thatch fries are a guilty pleasure. Not to mention they also have bacon! And plenty of cheese on battered fries. read more

Food was pretty good. Typical Irish, although we didn't try the Irish breakfast or any of the true traditional dishes. Service was pretty sketchy, had a few errors in our orders related to types of fries, etc. didn't seem that hard.. Overall it was a convenient location. The bar looked like a good olace to hang out - but we were at a table to eat. Might go back if in the area, but would not rush back read more

Great ambiance! Love to eat outside as well. The Irish Curry is amazing. Attentive staff without being too on top of you!

Great place for dinner with or without family. Good food & drink. Decent prices. Love their drunken chicken dish, especially with pasta. You gotta try it. My son loves their burgers. Great service too. Definitely recommend going here. read more

Pictures, menus are at least 5 yrs old. Should be updated. Very deceiving on prices 5 yrs ago compared to today. Not right.

a solid local irish pub with great food. their thatchers red ale is best bang for your buck.. the corned beef egg rolls are a meal in themselves. and dont forget to get curry fries!!! read more

Came here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with my family, interesting experience as I normally don't score on a single meal at all. Food: this was very polarizing for me. The pretzel appetizer was very good and some of the food was liked, but my meal (corned beef sandwich) was very disappointing. Aesthetic: well kept and very nice. Service: the waitress was very kind and attentive. Really enjoyed the experience. read more

Love the food... and I m picky... very nice service. I go back every time I m in Denville!

Food was very good, price is reasonable, it was so loud that we almost left before we sat down, finally found a table in the corner where it was still a bit too loud read more

Went to Thatchers for the first time after a long time. I ordered the fish and chips, it was almost inedible. I left 95% untouched. The fries were tasteless, the fish was literally dripping with grease. Not a great place to eat. (But the Irish was never known for their food). read more

Back when I was in college right nearby Thatcher's, I came here pretty frequently for food and drink...well more drinks let's be honest haha. All these years later, this place still has its charm of being something to everyone. it can be the place you come with buddies for some brews, watch some sports, or also just come with the family and have a great dinner My wife and I decided to come on in after taking in a movie and knowing we wanted a drink and to share some apps, so we went with the McGee Minis (slider) which were absolutely delicious and their bar platter which had tots, chicken fingers, mozzie sticks, boneless wings, and pretzel bites. Could not have picked a better duo to pair our adult drinks. Service was fantastic as I always remembered as well. A great place! read more

Nice staff. Sat at the bar for drinks and appetizers. Food was good pub style selection. Menu is fairly broad with many specials. We sat outside but it seemed nice inside when I poked my head in, clean well managed. They had a pretty good beer selection. Would return. read more

Went to Thatcher's with my good friend, Val X., for trivia night on a Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was packed, but we managed to get some seats at the bar. Fortunately, the kitchen was still open at 9pm, so we ordered a bar platter. The mozzarella sticks were particularly stretchy, a good sign. The chicken fingers were definitely made in house, leading me to believe that the rest of it was too. The drink special that night was the Tricky Leprechaun, for only $5. It tasted pretty good and it was decently strong, especially for $5. I actually wouldn't mind coming here for trivia regularly. read more

Two Crocks of Chili. Chilly could have been hotter. Chips on the side tasted a bit off. Just passing by, so probably won't have a chance to try other faire. I'd suggest finding something else on the menu or finding someplace else. Bar ambiance gets 4 stars though cause it's a bar (good service). Guinness and Blue Moon to wash it down. read more

The service and ambiance were fine, but to describe the food as mediocre would be kind. Philly cheese steak and Guinesss stew were awful. The stew tasted like a can of Dinty Moore's, the appetizer of Reuben rolls was sodden with grease and flavorless. However, the bar looked like it was hopping and my beer was good--nice and cold. Maybe it's better to come here to drink rather than eat. read more

We have probably driven by the place 100 times and finally decided to give it a try. We were very impressed. First it was very crowded but we found a table at the bar. Large bar business and an extensive selection of tap beers. All reasonably priced. For dinner we ordered the Irish potato skins as an appetizer. These were very good. They were firm and well covered with toppings. Then we both ordered burgers. My wife had the patty melt and I had the Irish Cheddar burger. We both ordered them medium rare and they came out medium rare. Both burgers were very good and the Irish Cheddar burger came with a bun that was a perfect size for the burger. We enjoyed our meal, and were not rushed. We will definitely go back. read more

The food was good and the staff was attentive and friendly. Parking can be difficult when it's busy but it's worth the wait.

Service was fine. Food, well, not that great. Had onion soup and a "taste of Ireland dinner." Soup cheese was overly burnt. Burnt bangers, overcooked meat for the shepherds pie. Hardly any beef in the beef stew. Not what I have come to expect from Thatchers in Denville, so I was surprised it is acceptable at their main location. read more

We arrived last night, party of 6 and were quickly seated in "the cottage" a nice small private room behind the bar (very cozy). Our server, Rogelio (sp?) Quickly took our drink order and remained attentive all night. Great server, really made our night special. The food was very good, chicken francese was plenty large and tasty. I got the zcobb salad with grlled chicken which left plenty to take home. Others had pastrami sandwich, sheppards pie, seems like every dish was satisfying for all. No complaints on the food but service was exceptional! read more
