okay, I'll update here since they finally installed the small granite piece for my stove backsplash…read moreand accommodated my request for first thing in the am. The 3 guys who arrived called ahead 20 min, and were super careful to measure thrice and keep measuring and using a level as the piece dried. I felt very confident watching their concern to get the piece on the backsplash in an attractive and straight manner. They could not have been more professional. I'll say it once and say it again: when you deal with the salespeople at The Granite Corporation (that's their real name not "Granite") you kind of doubt that they have a clue about what they're selling. I don't know what will happen and it takes too long for them to finish up a sale, even though they mean well. However, when the measure & install team shows up, those are the people who really know what they're doing. They are top pros. I asked Sam, my sales person, how are they going to make sure the glue holds on a vertical application, and she did not know. I asked her if I should cover my stove, and she said, don't worry (of course, I did). When they showed up, they scored the back of both my backsplash and the new piece, so more glue would be applied. They applied glue all around the perimeter (not visable). They taped the piece in place and I put a spongy rug on my stove (just in case). They said, glue sets in 10 minutes and they held it that long, and it is good to go in a couple hours when I can take off tape. I would have liked to know that there would be a little granite dust in my kitchen ahead of time, to have removed everything from countertops, but they did hold up a vacuum while they scored my backsplash, so I cannot say that I see any dust (besides my own). They scored the new piece outside my house. The treasure here is the cutting, measuring & install team. They are premium craftsmen, very experienced and know how to communicate with the public. They're the ones who should be selling the granite!

Whomever their merchandising buyer is, they need some advice: Stick to bedding, bath, tabletop, and housewares and forget all of the "as seen of tv" junk that's clogging up your isles. This store is way too small to have this much merchandise and all of the strange odds and ends are... well, odd. If you can manage to get your cart past the "yard sale" in front, the store does have a great selection of household necessities and the employees are helpful, but my ADD brain wants to run kicking and screaming.

Dean answered my questions about current decorating trends and assisted me in finding just what I needed to help me blend my aesthetic with potential resale value in a couple of years. The price was also better than I expected. My only two suggestions for improvement would be, 1) add signage to show there was floor tile in the center of the store. I saw the sign for "decorative floor tile" but did not realize there was other, less expensive, floor tile elsewhere in a separate area, and 2) have people on the floor ask customers if they need help. I was wandering in the wrong area and 4 different employees either stood talking to each other or were putting new samples on the wall who basically ignored me.

Mr Amison at the Aurora store knew return policies and courtesy to customers who are following the corporate return policies. I felt reassured that my shopping at the Aurora store was valued. Not so at the COUNTRYSIDE store, where aggressive nastiness is a norm and where the MANAGER decides the return policy. I will have Floor and Decor LAST on my list of places to shop, but if I do return, it will only be to the AURORA store.

He put quickly put together a quote and plan showing where all the pieces should go in a very easy to follow diagram. We had issue when one of our cabinets that came in and the drawer units where different so needed two additional pieces and without asking Shawn ordered the two pieces and got them to use quickly so as not to slow down our project timeline. I had already reviewed the specs and warranties of my chosen products, which are industry standard. I was only looking for skilled installation, not a sales pitch. The interaction came across as condescending and unprofessional, especially for a company advertising itself as customer-focused. If you're a homeowner who has done your own research and simply needs experienced labor -- save your time and look elsewhere.

Everyone from the company was pleasant and polite to work with, from sales to Morena on the phones, to Bryce and Fernando. So perfect, you can't see a seam?…read more Five stars is not enough! A friend referred me to this local countertop shop. I had lived with new marble top installed by previous homeowner in my kitchen since I moved in 8 years ago. But.. the pattern was very busy, never had a nice sheen, and when I placed a clear drinking glass on it, you easily missed it? (You can't miss it in one of the pictures below.) First visit was to their Batavia facility to take home samples and discuss approximate costs with a very knowledgeable and personable staff. Second visit was to my home to measure. Third was at their site with templates of my layout on the actual slab so I could see the grain and seam alignment as it would appear in finished countertop. This was fantastic because as much as I loved the pattern I had selected, I did not like the way it would appear completed. With NO pressure at all, I was encouraged to choose from similar patterns on their many other slabs of quartz so I could get the look I wanted. Templates were placed on another choice and the veins looked like they would match close at the seam. Three professionals arrived promptly at 8am and departed at 11am (perfectly as promised) and the finished job was more than I ever imagined. I had to really search for the seam but could only feel it as it is perfect... can you find it in the picture? (HINT: blue post-its align on seam in second image.)
