Ok guys - I'm a fan of Kistmet's food and service overall. But today they get 3 stars. Let me explain... It's early Saturday morning. I'm on my way to meet a friend to get car work done. He's requested a bacon/egg/cheese Sammy. I figure, that's a great excuse to head to kismet and get some yummy snacks (smoked salmon bagel and ABC JUICE for me!) Knowing it's likely going to be super busy (considering the day/time) I call about 10-15 min out and place my order for pick up (I'm in a time crunch here people!) I gave them my name and Rather than giving me an expected pick up time, they told me there a few orders ahead of me and they will complete mine ASAP. GREAT! Sounds perfect! I walk in and, as expected, they are fairly busy. Not overwhelmingly so, but a steady line of about 5 people with many more waiting for their orders to come out. I sit down and wait for my name to be called. I'm expecting something along the lines of "Katie, carry out order" ya know? Well first I stand right in front of one cashier (the co-owner I believe) for a while. No one asks my if I've been served or are waiting for an order. Nothing. I continue to wait...I take a seat... At this point I think at least half the staff has seen me sitting there staring at them. Still, no acknowledgement. I finally go up an ask the status of my order. The girl goes "oh yeah, it's ready..." and proceeds to pull my juice out of the little fridge and grab my order which has been sitting for who knows how long. One way I can tell it had to be a decent amount of time is that the juice is always warm when freshly made. This juice wash freshly made and then placed in the fridge. when I got it, it was chilled. That tells me I probably could have grabbed my order the moment I walked in. But had no idea. Lesson for me- ask as soon as I walk in. The worst case scenario is I still wait. Best case - I don't run late for frivolous waiting. I certainly hope Kismet learns to please call out carryout orders. read more

This place is a favorite of mine. The coffee used is all local (and delicious), the staff are friendly, and the setting gives a homey & warm feeling. The cafe latte had a free granola bar attached too! I only wish the hours were extended a bit so I could do some more studying. Overall, a great place to come read, relax, study, or whatever you please. read more

This is our "go to" breakfast/lunch place in Eldersburg. Bagels are fresh and sandwiches never fail. Recent ownership change hasn't brought any obvious changes. Staff is very friendly indeed. Ask for an "Everything Everything" Bagel n the kids will make sure you get a fully loaded bagel. read more

Kismet is my favorite place to go for breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is small café, the employees are very friendly and helpful. They want you to enjoy yourself. The coffee is the best. There is a wide variety of wonderful menu items. So glad they are in the area. Try it and see! read more

3 1/2 stars. We have had lunch here several times and we will continue to do so. There is a wide assortment of bagels and sandwiches to choose from (so we want to come back). Both times, the service has been very friendly and the food has been prepared quickly. The decor is pleasant, and you feel that you could stay there and relax for a while. The food has been "good" to "very good" each time, and I would predict that it will stay that way, as there's a vibe that the owners care about providing good food. The prices seem a bit high on some items. For example, the pizza bagel for my son was $6.10. A side of chips, perhaps, would increase the perceived value. Even so, it's a nice, comfortable, and friendly place. read more

Fabulous food and great atmosphere! If you are in the mood for a coffee or a sandwich they have it covered. I especially like the turkey and provolone panini, it is large and I can only finish half. I also love that they have incorporated fresh juices with their juicer. They also have special nights with music and themed meals. Delicious! read more

Had a tasty latte and a truly original bagel here: cheddar-everything! As in, Everything Bagel with cheese melted on top-it worked well with my egg sandwich. Pretty cool place but certainly not worth all the hype. I LOVE the idea of fresh bagels from a local coffee shop. Bought so many different flavors and a sandwich for myself. If I'm being totally honest with myself, they were just ok. I almost hate to say it, but Panera's bagels are about 10x better. I have been going to Kismet since they opened years ago, and have never been disappointed. Their staff is always so friendly and has always gotten my order correct, even if I've switched something out (provolone instead of Swiss, for example). 20 mins to get a sandwich. No ice in soda machine. Dirty tables. Turkey club kinda small for $9 and way too much spicy mustard on it.

I'm new to the area and Kismet is one of those small town cafés that makes me feel at home. The bagels are freshly made everyday - I can smell them! They have delicious fresh juices and healthy options. I love that they carry a local brand coffee as well(stumbling upon Zeke's really made me smile the first day I walked in). I stop in about 3x a week and every time I am pleased. There is usually a line on the weekends- but it's worth it. There is a line for a reason! read more

First time at Kismet and had high hopes as I had heard great things and they also have gluten free bread. I however was entirely disappointed. The staff was not friendly and was complaining how they just wanted to leave and get off work. The Reuben sandwich i got on gluten free bread was terrible and overpriced. I'm well aware gluten free bread is more expensive and smaller but this sandwich was extremely small. It was made on the panini but the bread was soggy and falling apart. It was absolutely disgusting and not even edible. Wish it had been better I go by it daily but I won't go back. read more

Make sure if you have a gift card that it will be honored BEFORE you order. Recently I came to have lunch, having an older gift certificate from a student. I was informed that it would not be honored by the current owner because it had been issued by the previous owner. There was no expiration date on the gift card; I feel it should have been honored regardless. I'll take my business elsewhere, thank you. By the way, Hoffman's ice cream in Westminster has honored all of my gift certificates from students, regardless of the date issued. Kudos to them! read more

Food isn't bad but is priced a bit high for the quality of food. I got a chicken pesto panini that was 6.99 (just the sandwich). The sandwich was good except for the chicken breast which was kind of rubbery and had probably been frozen at some point. The ambiance wasn't bad but the service was a bit slow. read more

I love the coffee they brew and the bagels are very tasty. The menu may be on the short side and they appear to have a complicated or disorganized cash register which causes you to repeat your order several times. It can get a little loud on weekends. read more

Randomly saw a sign for this cafe as I drove by and stopped in for some breakfast. Ended up with the most delicious bagel sandwich I've ever had!! And they have specialty coffees, zekes regular brewed coffee, juices, wraps/paninis, and every type of bagel under the sun. They even make their own cream cheese!
