We were regulars here, but after our visit today, I doubt we'll be back. 25 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese because the cashier kept skipping over my order for no reason is ridiculous. Cashier also had the worst attitude, and it felt like she was almost intentionally avoiding my order when I was nothing but friendly at the register. I could even hear the kitchen staff saying that my order had been at the window for a while, and I kept trying to ask about my order and was ignored. What a terrible experience. read more

I remember when this place was sold (a very long time ago). The first thing they did was make the bagels smaller, put less cream cheese on them and raise prices. They eliminated the bakers dozen. And when the local photographer died, they took down all of her pictures and replace them with cheesy prints (which they sell) they're not pictures of Columbia, I don't know where they're from, it's tacky. I still continued to come here because I have great childhood memories. I will not spend my money here anymore. The service is terrible. There is always a person at the counter that either doesn't speak English or a kid that has a problem with ringing up your order, but of course their new register system asks you for a tip. My most recent and last experience there was just another day in the life of the Bagel Bin in Wilde Lake. An idiot at the counter tells me everything bagels will be ready in 20 minutes, I asked "are you sure?" Then she asks the owner and the owner says he's not making anymore. That girl would have rang me up for a half dozen and had me waiting around. Now I place my order of three bagels to take home & two sandwiches. My daughter got her bagel with cream cheese (that's not too hard to screw up) but I ordered a power house aka a rabbit (a veggie sandwich it's delicious). I asked for avocado, I paid $1.50 for avocado. Our order was to go. The owner handed me my order. We get home and no avocado. This is not the first time this has happened. The two previous times I was shorted avocado I did not make an issue of it. I didn't call I let it slide. This time I called. The owner tells me that there is a communication issue between the guys in the kitchen and the girl at the counter. The girl was unaware that they were out of avocado. The owner tells me that they need a better system of communication. The kitchen is 5 feet from the counter! He told me my $1.50 would be refunded (hasn't been refunded). What he should've done is refunded my entire order. My issue is not with the $1.50. My issue is with the owner and how he took a beautiful business and killed it with terrible service, price increases (Not due to our current inflation this guy rose prices immediately when he took over), tacky ambience and disrespect for longtime customers. The Bagel Bin in Wilde Lake gets two star only because the bagel recipe is the original recipe from the original owners. Oh! And let's not forget the time I got iced tea out of their iced tea dispenser and the mold came out of it. Gross! read more

Relatively cheap, good bagels in a locally owned store that goes out of their way to heavily support local groups. Breakfast sandwiches are made fresh to order, and there is always a good selection of bagels. If I'm in the area in the morning, I always love to get a quick breakfast from here. There's plenty of seating and a wonderful shopping center to explore if you'd rather eat outside. I really like the breakfast here. They have really fresh bagels and all you can drink coffee which is nice. It has a small town diner feel to it most of the time but there is a summer camp next door so it can get pretty packed with kids and can be loud at times. But the breakfast is worth it to me. The staff is friendly as well. I got the 3 egg omelette and cream cheese supreme bagel which were great. Good place to also come and read a book while eating. read more

I usually stop by after church on Sundays. Great spot for breakfast. There is usually a good number of folks in there on Sunday mornings so be patient. Don't get there too late, they may run out of the bagels you want. My favorite are their blueberry, cinnamon, cranberry, and everything bagels. As I've been a long time patron, the bagels remain world-class but the service has become abysmal. For several weeks now, long outside waits (15-20 minutes) are the norm and when you finally do get in, the choice/variety of available bagels is limited ... at 9:00am on Sunday (9/20) morning, only 4 choices were available ... other 20+ bins were empty. I love a good bagel for a quick pick-up kind of breakfast. Ive had the plain bagel and chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese as well as a sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich. Overall, I really like how this place has many different kinds of bagels and cream cheese to try and select from. The food I've had here has been pretty good (decent flavor but surprisingly greasy) but I've had better elsewhere. What caused me to give three stars instead of four is the lackluster food and the customer service which has always been okay. I've had to wait in line every time for a while to order and for my food because the workers tend to be talking to one another and distracted. I probably won't go out of my way to go back again but I'd go in a pinch. read more

I've come twice. The service is rather slow. Idk but I feel like something about this place is off. I want them to be a NY Jewish bakery/deli, but they aren't. They aren't an Einstein bagels either. Nothing here is mind blowing. My first time, I ordered a nova lox sandwich on an everything bagel. The bagel was toasted improperly and the cream cheese they use tastes cheap. They didn't salt/pepper the sandwich. The next time, I just grabbed two black bottom muffins. They were just ok, but they skimped on the cream cheese and the muffin didn't have chocolate chips... it just was ok. I want this place to be so great, but it's not. Was just here and man was it awful. I'm not sure why anyone comes here. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The coffee is sub part. You can make better at home. They then call me back up and say that they ran out of "Supreme" (everything) bagels. They were there when I ordered... Why wasn't it grabbed? Are they making more? I love the bagels here. To me they are the closest to NY bagels you can find in the area. Perfect texture and flavor. The manager or owner clearly busts his hump to keep it all in motion. I go on different days and different times and he is constantly on the go and in the middle of whatever needs doing. I wish I had his energy. Bagels can run low at times but that is no head scratcher. When something is good it is going to sell. I almost never see the bagel oven stop baking but the lines of people keep coming. Everyone knows that means GET THERE EARLY if you want your best selection. Only so many bagels can be made at a time. The other day I watched three separate customers purchase over $45 of bagels. Those bins emptied fast that day. Like anywhere, mistakes can happen but I have found them to be a rarity and not a standard. Go and enjoy a great bagel! read more

Not sure who Emily is. Just says Bagel Bin and is owned by Asians. None of which are named Emily. In any case nothing special. Basic bagels. Service on the weekends is horrible. Took them 20 minutes (actual time 18 minutes. I timed it!) to make a egg on a bagel. I can walk here so that would be the only reason i frequent this establishment. I have lived in Wilde Lake since 1996 and have been a patron of the Bagel Bin since that time. The value and service has steadily declined since that time. I waited today - 12 minutes, but I it was a Saturday morning - for two sandwiches to go. I ordered BLT's on Everything Bagels. After paying $18 for two sandwiches (yes, you read that right - $18 for two sandwiches) I left with the WRONG sandwiches. I returned and got my money back and a giggled apology from the owner. Overcharging for food - and the wrong food at that - deserved a sincere apology. Further, in the past the sandwiches at least came with a pickle spear but not these sandwiches. So to recap, the service has declined, the price has increased and they provide less. Happily, there are other places in the Wilde Lake area to eat: Starbucks, The Corner Bakery, Whole Foods counter and food bar not to mention Panera at The Mall in Columbia. read more

They never have any bagels!!!!!!! They have the nasty ones left by 11 am. It's such a hole in the wall kind of place. It's so crowded in the mornings and the crowd consists of crusty old seniors who just don't care about anyone else. It takes forever to get your bagel and cream cheese. If they even have the one you want. Not a very clean facility either. The staff seems to consist of 15 year old girls without a manager present. Not sure if this is more on the store or just inconsiderate customers but I went and followed the posted signage about following social distancing and stood at the marked locations on the floor. I waited for someone to acknowledge me or ask for an order or anything really but they seemed busy so I waited. While I was waiting two customers came in. One picked up an order while another "lady" came in and just walked right up and grabbed a shelf full of cream cheeses and ordered her bag of groceries. As she paid and left another customer came in and much like myself waited at the marked location. At least this customer asked if I had been helped and so we both waited together. After closing out with the previous customer the proprietor asked what he could do...for the customer who came in after me and was waiting beside and slightly behind me. She mentioned that I was next so I proceeded to give my order only to be told that they were out. I actually knew they were as I witnessed the hungry lady before us buy it with her batch. I can't really explain it and maybe I should have just marched up to the counter immediately upon entering so maybe it's on me for following the signs but I can't really support a store that doesn't even pay attention to its customers no matter how much I love a good bagel. read more

I've returned to the Bagel Bin a number of times now. They're problems remain - they are always low on bagels. What kind of bagel place runs low on their key product? I do not like their version of the everything bagel, that they call supreme, because they to it with pretzel salt. The drink selection is large. The interior always looks dirty, and the booths are super run down. They definitely need a renovation. That being said, the selection is good. But it does take awhile for your order to be ready. Went there today 8:30am Sunday to get bagels. Plenty of bagels and big variety available. I got an "eggel" on a supreme bagel with sausage. It was honestly fantastic. Counterpart got an eggel no cheese or meat with pesto, also delicious. Short wait and in between several people came up and ordered bagels to go and whatnot. Don't understand the sub-par ratings. I have been coming to this location of the Bagel Bin since the 1980's and it has always had a special place in my heart, but over the years as it has gone through several owners, they each have been less attentive than the last. The food is still okay, but how do you keep "bagel" in your name when you yend to have very few of them left by 9 AM on any given day? Some days it is just insane how few flavors are left so early in the morning. You have a gigantic bagel oven, make more! The original owners baked fresh bagels all day. I remember seeing them pull them out of the rotating oven as a kid. I have never even seen the oven on anymore. I moved here from NY ages ago, and a nice NY bagel was a huge comfort. I can rarely get a classic NY oniin bagel (my favorite) or everything bagel, or the elusive bialy. They make like 4 of each every day and 3 bialy on weekends. I stopped coming here for a while and was going to the bagel bin in Clarksville (different owner). They are much, much better with a larger menu and bagels available even into the afternoon. I just live 2 minutes from the Wilde Lake location, and it is hugely dissapointing. I think it is worth the 15 minute drive back to Clarksville though, and I am tired of settling for bagels I don't want. Goodby Emily's Bagel Bin.
