Giving Kismet 3 stars because their bagels are delicious and it's my husband's favorite breakfast place in Eldersburg. I have tried so hard to like Kismet and other than the bagels I just can't. The eggs on the egg sandwich taste like they're from a carton. Plus they're inconsistent in size. Sometimes they're thick and other times they're as thin as a crepe. I wish they would offer an actual fried egg - like THB. The bacon is 100% precooked/microwaved. The mixed berry cream cheese was sour and flavorless. And they frequently run out of basic bagel flavors... today it was sesame. Will keep trying things here since it's my husband's favorite, and update my review if something changes. read more

I came here when this was Bruegger's Bagels, I came here when it was ZiPani, and I'm still stopping by now that it's Kismet Cafe. They've kept the charm of their predecessors and have improved to offer the most delicious flavors for their bagels and sandwich combinations. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu (but I will offer a special shout out to the turkey and herbs bagel sandwich and the good old fashioned egg and cheese). Formally a bagel shop I frequently visited in high school. Delicious baked bagels with homemade cream cheeses, espresso, coffee, tea.. I'm pretty sure I saw some donut holes too! Free WiFi, I spent a few hours working from there one day. Called in and picked up breakfast with my dad another. Busy, friendly, great service... must go if in town and looking for fresh made, local eats. Happy to have this place in town. read more

Have been to Kismet's many times after church on Sundays for a coffee and breakfast. They are never short of being busy, which can lead to longer than expected wait times, however the food is always very good (their açai bowls are off the charts) and you just can't beat the sense of community that this establishment engenders. My boyfriend and I both ordered the salmon lox sandwich and an ABC juice. The sandwich was good but the ABC (apple, beet, carrot) was warm, which I thought was weird since it was freshly made. Great bagels but, unfortunately, the order takers have a hard time listening to details if you veer off the menu at all. Ask for extra mayo? Nope. Ask for extra onions? No. They say ok but I haven't seen it. My hubby bought an almost $8.00 reuben sandwich and the amount of food between the bread was nonexistent - that shocked me because the bagel sandwiches so far are great. They have the best bagels around though. The bigger issue? Sanitary conditions. I went up for a refill on coffee and the worker took my refill cup with all that entails and put it right into the ice bin that everyone else uses. The entire cup I drank out of went in. You get my germs and I get yours. I did call the owner and tell her what happened. I love this little place for the bagels and cream cheese but I really don't want to get sick eating there. read more

we ordered our food on Toast and the process was very easy. When we showed up, we were greeted by 3 very pleasant smiley employees who had our order ready. The food was good and the outdoor seating clean. We went back in Kismet Go to leave a tip and ask a few questions. I love that Kismet is in Eldersburg, where it is a sort of good-restaurant-desert. The bagels are great, and you can get them prepared any way you like. Any kind of coffee/ latte drinks you like. What more could you ask for? Prices are reasonable for bagels, but the sandwiches are kind of high, though not ridiculously high. Every employee I've ever encountered has been super friendly and helpful. I go here often and have no plans to stop. read more

Tried this place for the first time last week. I walked in and it seemed like a cozy, warm little cafe. I loved it immediately. There are a few small tables set up but you can also carry out. The person helping me behind the counter was incredibly friendly and helpful. I ordered a challah bagel with salmon cream cheese. I have never had a challah bagel before and I was blown away. It was light and airy but toasted to perfection on the outside. I ordered my husband a bacon, egg, cheese on an 8 grain everything bagel and we had our choice of many cheeses! He said it was delicious. They serve a variety of deli type desserts and I'll definitely be back for a muffin to go with my Zeke's (best ever) coffee. Can't wait to go back! read more

This place is a hot mess on a Sunday! I'm all about supporting small local businesses but will not go back here on Sunday! I spent 20 minutes caught in their online ordering system to then be told the system is down today. So I drove there. Horrible parking situation in that corner of the parking lot! There are now 2 different store-fronts for Kismet. Apparently one is sandwiches and one is salad. I don't know where you go if you want both! I went in the original site and it is packed armpit to elbow! Good for them but tables are inches apart and I struggled to get through all the waiting people to get back to the ordering line. Once I ordered, I stood for 20 minutes waiting on my 2 sandwiches while getting knocked and jostled by people trying to get around inside the tight space. This has been my favorite place in town since owners Lana and Dana Ferraris opened the doors. They consistently deliver delicious food and beverages, and have always treated their employees like family. Frequently willing to experiment with their menu and create new items that customers might enjoy or have requested. They introduced me to Furnace Hills and Zeke's brand coffees. I prefer New York style bagels and Kismet never disappoints. My go-to is the southwest egg on toasted everything bagel with bacon, but on occasion I'll get a toasted powerhouse bagel with plain cream cheese. Stop in sometime, order a soup, sandwich, and coffee drink, and sit a spell. Enjoy the atmosphere. It'll put a smile on your face. I usually bring my tablet computer and access the free wi-fi. read more

Since moving to Sykesville, MD from another state that is known for their bagels. I wanted to find a good bagel place that's similar. Kismet Cafe is the closet, and the bagels are good. This is my go-to bagel place in the Sykesville/Eldersburg area. You can watch the bagels being made, which is super re-assuring. I love that I can get egg whites on my sandwich and they taste REAL. The selection of bagels and cream cheese are wide as well. Their coffee and lattes/smoothies/etc. are just as good. I often go there for breakfast after a workout, but I've been for lunch, too, and the wraps are AMAZING! Also - they keep tons of fresh options to grab and go: salads, fruit bowls, quiches, muffins, etc. I could go on and on about this place, but just try it out for yourself. I came into Kismet again on May 27, 2019. I ordered a bagel with capers and extra cream cheese. It was excellent and perfect. I can tell the store has focused on training. First time here - found it on Yelp as I was in the area and looking for a bistro-like atmosphere to grab a coffee, juice, and light breakfast. Extremely friendly staff that makes you feel welcomed. If you eat in, they drop off the food at your table - a nice touch. Food is very good. They bake their own bagels in house and have house made cream cheeses. Fresh squeezed juices and good coffees and teas and very fair prices. They offer a lot of sandwiches and panini sandwiches as well. Will definitely be back. read more

Kismet is the old Zi Pani which had a fair share of issues. I'm a bit of a bagel snob and always thought the Bagel Cafe (may Habib rest in peace) had the best bagels around. Kismet's bagels have gotten to be as good as Habib's - not too chewy, good amount of toppings and fresh. Kismet is so much better organized than Zi Pani and order flow works pretty well. I always like a toasted ET with salmon spread, lettuce, tomato and swiss, open face. That's usually overwhelming for most bagel shops but Kismet has got my order. My daughters like the egg, cheddar and ham croissants - always with a side of cream cheese so they can "schmear." On the occasions I've ordered soup, I've found them to be good. The owner and staff provide great customer service and the atmosphere is fairly cozy. The price is average and worth the consistency in quality and service. And if someone in your group isn't in the mood for bagels, they can run next door and get pizza or Five Guys and meet you back in the cafe! read more

The food here is delicious. Unfortunately, the sizes of the sandwiches have gotten smaller since they changed owners and the name of the cafe. The prices also went up a bit. Before, just a sandwhich would fill me up. Now, I have to get some soup before hand and a dessert. While it may seem smart on their behalf because people are spending more, it's actually a negative, because I am less likely to go there as often. I used to go 2-3x a week. Now I go once or twice every six months. That being said, I love the way they decorated the place. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. They will let you try a bite of soup before you buy it, but to make sure you enjoy it. There is usually a line, and the meals always take a few minutes to make, but it is well worth the wait. I have very fond memories of Kismet Cafe. When I was younger and there was a two hour delay or no school my Father and I would go to Kismet and get bagels. The atmosphere there is like no other. The warmth and comfortably is amazing. The employees are extremely nice and courteous. The menu is great and the coffee is excellent. The other day I took my friend here to get Acaì bowls and they were AMAZING, i was pleasantly surprised by the puffed granola at the bottom. I'm a vegan and they had many vegan friendly options!
