Absolutely unacceptable experience... I was going to wait until corporate took care of this, but this needs to be addressed and people need to know what they're getting themselves into when they go to this location. The level of rudeness and complete lack of professionalism I encountered at this Starbucks needs to be documented on a public platform. As I approached the drive-thru on 3/14/25, I stopped my vehicle and tried to submit my mobile order. Something to note, is I made sure nobody was behind me when I did this so I didn't inconvenience other people. I just don't like to make orders online and drive at the same time. Unfortunately, the app was glitching and wouldn't load. When I reached the intercom, I politely asked the barista to give me a moment while the app finished processing. Instead of understanding, I was met with a condescending and incredibly rude tone. The barista snapped and said, "You do know that the whole point is that you have to send the order in before you get to the intercom, right?" First of all, there was a tech issue, not a case of me being unprepared. Secondly, I had my one-year-old sleeping in the backseat and wasn't about to fiddle with a malfunctioning app while driving. By the way, when I did call Starbucks after this, the introduction message stated this: "If you are calling about issues with the app and mobile order and pay, please know our technology teams are aware of the issue and are currently working on a resolution at this time you can place your order in our drive-thru and stores. We apologize for any inconvenience." When I asked for the barista's name to report the interaction, I was flat-out refused. At the window, the second barista was visibly upset with me, despite me doing nothing wrong besides trying to get a drink I was fully ready to pay for. Again, I asked for the original barista's name and was told no. The only glimmer of decency was when the second barista, nervously handing me my drink, whispered that the way the first barista treated me "wasn't great." That alone tells me this isn't a one-off, it's likely a toxic culture being tolerated by management. This is an excellent location, but unfortunately, it's staffed with employees who clearly do not value or understand customer service. I left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and stunned that something so simple turned into such an unpleasant experience. Starbucks is capable of doing better. Train your staff. Teach them that basic kindness and professionalism aren't optional. read more

I come here every Sunday morning before church. The workers are very nice and usually compliment my dress. I LOVE Starbucks. But one time I ordered here I ordered the ham and Swiss crossiant. I like this Starbucks for its drive thru option. I've been many times, but I've never been inside the store. On my last visit, I used mobile ordering and told them I was there to pick up. There was a long wait in the drive thru because most people are opting to stay in their cars. However, they just recently opened the store for grab and go service. My drink was quite icy and melted by the time I received it. I'll hash it up to the longer than usual wait in the queue. This is a great Starbucks - they do a great job with food/drink quality, but what really gets me is how kind every single employee I've encountered is. When the wait is long they are always apologetic. I've received coupons (more than once) on days with especially long waits. Their cheery voices taking my order always make my day a little better! Who is managing this location? It is fading fast in terms of hospitality and not just service, but the facilities are not maintained to the standards one would expect. As for service issues, the location consistently runs out of food products and on my last visit, with 6 people "working" behind the counter and me the only customer in line, only one person was making drinks and it took almost 10 minutes from time to order to get it. Two trips ago, the cashier was in the middle of taking my order and then started to take the next customers order on the other register. My order came out wrong (asked for mug, no mug). Not surprising as their was no focus on what I was asking for while trying to take another order. As for the location, the bathrooms is frequently less than clean and recently the lock was not functioning. Ugh... Someone needs to get this place back on track or their business is going to start to decline with competition from Panera across the road offering better hospitality for the money. read more

I love this quiet location. The large open floor plan gives the feeling of lots of space and yet the cozy feeling of privacy w your group. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and super helpful! This is a regular go to spot. read more

One of my favorite Starbucks. It is a larger location with lots of tables and plugs to do work. The building was originally a bank but they used a lot of dark wood in decorating to make the space feel cozier. When we are in a hurry, they have a drive thru. This place is always busy but they keep it fully staffed with friendly people who make sure your coffee is delivered quickly. read more

"Sorry we don't have coffee" I frequent this store to start my morning then other stores through out the state for second cups . Eldersburg is ONLY store that consistently runs out of coffee. At peak hours one might think you need to start another pot . It is so frequent that I'm starting a separate calendar to see just how many days in a month this will be . Terrible service from most (thankfully one friendly remains), no attention to detail, plenty of staff on duty - just not attending to customer needs at all (nor to cleanliness of the store, restrooms, or product shelves). Almost never receive a greeting anymore - just blank stares from behind the register while they wait for customer to speak order first. Is that in the handbook for this location? I have tried and tried to like this place, but no matter what you ask for, it is never done right. Lattes either are flat with no steamed consistency that resembles what a latte should look like, or it is so overblown it looks like a cappuccino and it's short filled as well. Biggest mistake is not nearly enough air put in at the beginning and then just walk away and let the robot take over and you get what a robot can make....crap coffee beverages. However, something has definitely changed in the past few months - looks like a new round of employment resulting in some new snippy baristas. Went to the drive thru window and ordered a few coffees. We had an old drink in our vehicle and when we got to the window we asked for the employee to take our cup and throw it away so we have room for our drinks. He said it was against store policy to throw costumers items away. read more

I always give a place at least 2 times if the first time I go is bad. Well this place has had at least 3 chances..Burnt coffee every time. The staff is friendly enough, it is just the coffee that is so bad. It maybe the time I go, once mid morning, twice post dinner. So maybe it is old and burnt, but since this is a Coffee Specialty place, I would think that the priority would be to make sure the coffee is fresh and good. This is consistently the worst Starbucks I've ever known - I do keep coming back because of the location, but the service is horrific. Often it will take 10-15 minutes to get a basic drink (even a water), not because the shop is busy, but because the staff is too busy chatting with each other. They are very annoyed if you ask for anything outside of the norm and let you know. I have worked (and managed) a lot of customer service positions, so I know what decent customer service looks like. I'm also always very polite and tip - but still receive shoddy service. They also do not always abide by food regulations. Ex. 15 gallons of milk left on a table for 2 hours before being put into the fridge - again, not because of busyness, but rather the staff was too busy on their phones or chatting with each other. This is a very clean and large Starbucks with a drivethru. The staff is very polite and courteous and you get your drink quickly. This is a great place to come get a coffee and crank out some work. There is plenty of tables and seating and it is sparkling clean. read more

They were practically dead and I waited 15 minutes for a tea and coffee. 5 of those 15 minutes my tea sat on the counter. We practically rested our elbows on the counter waiting for someone to even notice us. There were 4 people working behind the counter. No haste. No communication. I ordered a venti 4 shot soy mocha, no foam, no whip cream (ever). It is my understanding is that an espresso shot should be about an ounce and a half. When I received my drink, it was a total of 12 ounces (I have pictures) as opposed to the 20 which is what a venti is. And then tons of foam added on top to fill the cup. By this math I received a drink that was half espresso (4 shots = 6 ounces), about an ounce or so of syrup, some soy milk, and then foam. Foam is not an overwhelming characteristic of any mocha drink. It is a garnish at best and should be used sparingly, and not to consume over a third of the cup, this is ludicrous. Let's get something clear; the staff and the location were great, the drink quality was poor. It is not hard to mix a recipe that is laid out to follow. Why does Starbucks continue to dilute drinks with foam or whip cream when not asked for. In fact these are toppings that should be added to the drink when asked for, not needing to be asked for to have left off. If Starbucks wants to be green, and healthy why wouldn't it make a shift to leave this crap off its drinks, and available upon request. I understand that beverages look better with this on it and the marketing behind it; but let's be real, do people need a 500 calorie drink with an additional 120 calories of whip cream? Not by default they don't. Use it in ads, and make customers request it in person. I've travelled all over the country for business and this is not the first time I've seen it from a Starbucks. read more

Always a long line in the draw through- no matter what time of day. Today had such a rude girl at checkout. When I asked if she could throw away a can from my cup holder she "was like NO I'm not!" I go here for convenience but their coffee is never hot, as an espresso field tech coffee should start out at 190-195. I bet it has never been over 140. I go here In A pinch or when I need the wifi but that's it... Their Americanos are ok though just don't order their coffee if you like it hot. Staff is hot and cold, not well organized. read more
