I needed an espresso before the movie to keep me awake. The caffeine slinger got me set right and I was wide awake for the next two hours. Excellent coffee! If you want to try a creative treat, this is your place. The setting is coffee shop. There's seating in two areas, and we didn't have trouble finding a spot. Service was quick and helpful. Why should you choose American Ice Co? Easy! Ohemgee, the flavors! While they have all the basics (including Vietnamese coffee, a personal fave), their seasonal menu is where it's at. I ordered the... I think it was called the Squirrel's Nuts or something like that. And that name was accurate. It was so nutty with various nutty flavors. I giggled when I took my first sip. I highly recommend stepping away from the chains to try this little spot. read more

I tried. I've tried so many times but the truth is American Ice Co just isn't worth it. The real problem are the owners, so rude. Oblivious to hospitality. Aggressive. On a recent business meeting there one of the owners was rudely and angrily shuffling tables about when she actually tried to grab mine and my partners table--as we were eating!--and swap it with another table. I had to politely ask they maybe do this after we were done, to which she replied "fine" and stormed away. Absolutely horrible customer care. Save yourself the trouble and find someplace else to eat or get coffee. This cafe is a disaster. read more

Got pastries at Jeannie Bird and came here for coffee, since they had more options and better reviews. Got a cold brew, an iced chai, and a hot drip coffee. The drinks were just OK, and the service was very slow even though they weren't too busy. Would come back in a pinch, but it didn't stand out to me. read more

Awesome relaxed vibe, super friendly staff and great food are rounded out with a great coffee house. It looks tiny when you walk in, but there is seating on both sides when you walk in and upstairs. Some how it's sort of kid friendly while still being hip. Everything we got was good. read more

I have been going to American Ice Company (AIC) for over 3 years, but I have to make a special callout to Katelin and Africa for outstanding service. I stop by there almost every week and it is almost like being with family:) Both Katelin & Africa make my Cortado perfectly and I am very happy with the coffee:) I have lived all over the world and I am indeed a coffee snob, but I am very satisfied with my order at AIC every time. Unique cafe with lunch offerings. They have milk tea and bobas are add-on for $3 each cup. The drinks were good but I though the honey dew was too sweet. I think there were 4 ice cream flavors available per scoop. There's a second level which seats more people but the view downstairs look better for picture-taking! Service was superb and quick! The baristas were kind and the Huz loved his Americano with Honey. They were closing early so we couldn't enjoy lunch or sit in the roaster area. I placed an order online simply for a bagel with cream cheese. I went and I picked up the order. The lady at the counter, handed it to me and said "have a great day" with no mention of the extreme disappointment i was about to experience. I said "thank you you too".I came home to enjoy my delicious bagel with cream cheese that I was really really really excited about except when I opened the box it was just a bagel, no cream cheese. Keep in mind I had to pay $1.50 or two dollars to add cream cheese and as a broke 23 year-old that kind of money goes a long way so I called them to ask how this could've happened and I just said "hey you know I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and just picked up my order. I have the bagel just no cream cheese" and the lady on the phone said "yeah sorry about that. We're out of cream cheese", like I was supposed to know that when I paid two extra dollars for it, they offered no compensation so now I'm just eating a bagel with butter on it from home. read more

Went with the iced Vietnamese coffee and felt it was a good call. Kinda was like chocolate milk with some coffee in it. Today was my first time visiting this unique cafe and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and well prepared! The cafe is small and quite charming and offers quite a nice variety of menu items to choose from. We were all vegetarians and had plenty of menu items to choose from. Cute place, but do NOT I repeat do NOT order avocado from them. On 2 separate occasions I spent $2 for 1/4 of an avocado, and not just any avocado, but a rock hard avocado that was not ripe yet. The workers here obviously do not know how to tell if an avocado is ready or not. Food is good but I will never make the expensive mistake of ordering anything with avocado again. This is a real cute coffee shop that has so much to offer including food and other goodies! I hosted a small work holiday gathering in their rentable conference room which has a private bathroom and kitchenette. I originally worked with the supervisor Angela to coordinate- she was lovely and very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. We planned the concept of a hot chocolate bar with pastries, fruit and cheese and crackers- light fare. Many of my guests said it was the best hot chocolate they have had in a long time. The owners allowed me to decorate the room and they supplied food by special order they don't normally offer. Todd was especially helpful during the event. I loved to see was handicap access from the rear entrance. One thing that surprised me was the back patio where it appears there is a bar and entertainment area though it was winter during my party and too cold to use. I highly recommend using the conference room for a small get together- comfortable for under 10 people. This conference room I used was on the second floor, they also have a room on the ground level too Angela said they would consider renting as well. Great service, cute place, yummy food and drinks. Delicious lattes, panini's and wraps in a family friendly atmosphere! Roast Beef panini and a Ghirardelli mocha latte is a must have. They use the best and fresh ingredients. In talking to the barista, they use locally sourced organic ingredients. Service was fast and friendly. Inside seating was spacious with the upper level and free WiFi! Was able to study in the upper room while having a meal and coffee to keep me going. Definitely coming back in the spring/summer for a scoop of ice cream! Stopped by this new coffee place for the second time for breakfast. First visit both my wife and I had coffee and ham, cheese, and egg croissant. That was a great experience. Coffee was fresh and sandwiches were well made with two perfectly cooked eggs, as the menu states. This time I ordered the same thing but my wife opted for the quiche. Unfortunately, our experience was not the same. She described her quiche as mostly bread and my sandwich had one seriously over cooked egg, on a stale croissant. First visit our food was prepared by the owner and this time by new untrained or poorly trained employee with no enthusiasm. We'll likely give it another try but in a town with half a dozen similar choices, the new kid on the block needs to step up their game. read more

Stopped for morning coffee and a bagel. I was warmly greeted and attended to by an attentive staff. They are still learning the ropes but this has the makings of a wonderful addition to downtown Westminster. My best observation was their amazingly large unisex bathroom which easily holds 8-10 people. I know this because approximately 8 of us sheltered in there when a tornado hit nearby. I'm a local and always try to support local business's. Saturday night our town had a Christmas parade and since we arrived early, decided to get some yummy hot chocolate on the chilly night from the American ice company cafe. It was our first time in and we were excited about trying something new and even took a menu so we could do business in the future. It was busy but not crazy busy (I think 3 other people were in there) we ordered our hot chocolate and waited and waited and waited. It took 20 minutes to get them. The parade was about to start and we walked back to our seats across the street and noticed that our drinks were terrible and didn't taste right. They forgot to add the chocolate! It was just warm milk and whipped topping. Yuck! I took all three drinks back and by then they were packed with people waiting for drinks and it took another 10 minutes to replace the drinks. This time they remembered the chocolate but forgot the hot part. It was cold and all three cups were only 1/2 to 3/4 full. Really disappointed and my wife and I decided it cost us $12 to realize we don't need to go back there for anything else. It's hot chocolate!!! Absolutely worst customer service I've ever experienced. Twice in the last 3 days I have ordered a smoked Gouda and apple grilled cheese sandwich. Twice I have received a sandwich with zero apples yet covered in an inch thick layer of what appears to be ham. The employees stand around taking about weekend conquests instead of doing their job. Clearly are so distracted that they can't tell the difference between lunch meat and apples. Don't go here. The first order we picked up ourselves and didn't realize until we got home the mistake. The second order was DoorDashed. The dasher sat there for a good 25 minutes waiting for them to make this one sandwich. It took an hour and 25 minutes to receive it from the moment I placed the order until it finally arrived. This cafe is 8 minutes from my house. read more
