I just ordered from here because I was craving some soup since I've been sick. I ordered the Tan Tan Men soup, pork xiaolong buns, and the pan fried gyoza. The soup was phenomenal. It's a large bowl and they package the broth separately so that the noodles don't get gummy. The xiaolong buns were sooo yummy. I thought that they were soup dumplings but I think they're just steamed pork dumpling. The gyoza was yummy but the other two items were definitely better. I am so excited to eat my leftover soup and hopefully return soon to try some other options

Dragon roll, spider roll, spicy tuna roll, and my favorite around the edges is the high street roll.

Husband and I have never been here before. We wanted a sushi appetizer so we figured we'd try it out since it's so close to home. The place is super cute and clean. Not much seating. We got the sushi pictured. I absolutely loved the High Street roll but they all exceeded my expectations. Everything was fresh and delicious. This will definitely be my new go to sushi spot! 10/10 for sure! My nine-year-old also got the kids Ramen which I think was like seven dollars and way worth it. It was an adult size bowl with noodles, broth, sliced chicken breast and scallions. We all loved it more than anticipated. Service was mediocre. Not good nor bad. For the sushi and kids ramen our bill was $66. We will def be returning!

A friend and I have been wanting to try a ramen place together and I'm so glad we chose Kirin! The noodles were so good and chewy, the soup base was delicious, the pork, bamboo shoots and other toppings were just the right amount of crunch and added texture for the dish. My son got the egg rolls and soup dumplings and gobbled them up. The chicken karaage was SO good! The small plate comes with 4-5 huge pieces. The chicken is so crunchy and juicy! The only thing I didn't care for was how much fat was wrapped up inside of them. It created a weird texture, but it did add to the flavor. The service was great. Our food came out pretty quickly. There isn't a ton of seating, so a large group isn't the best. But there is enough seating for a group of 4-6 if needed at the large family style table. I really want to go back and try their sushi! Everything looked so fresh.

Visited 23 JUL 2024 I really like what they chose to do with a small space in a strip of stores along a busy street. It is clean and simple furniture, there is a row of high table/chairs down the middle and more traditional tables at the ends of the room. I didn't notice/don't remember much on the walls. We have had Pho many times but there are not a lot of ramen places right near us in central Maryland. We were in town visiting family so this gave us a chance to stop into Kirin. I am always happy when I see a cultural group enjoying a meal of the cuisine I am about to try. My wife got a Miso based bowl and I got the Shoyu. The presentation was simple and attractive. The taste was just complex enough for me to enjoy the slight differences from Pho. It was very filling. We also had for the table crispy rice topped with tuna tartare (it was okay, but I'd likely skip that if we came back). They also have a broad range of whiskeys and I think they also consider themselves a whisky bar. Maybe that happens late at night or on the weekends. While we were there it was a pretty straight forward dinner spot. Not cheap, but certainly fair for the quality and presentation (4 adults, 1 toddler $80, no alcohol). If local would certainly treat this place as a treat, a change of pace kind of stop.

We visited this nice restaurant off of High Street. It has some parking behind the building/strip as well as street parking. We went in around 3:30pm and it wasn't busy at all. We ordered the Tan Tan Men Ramen, Shoyu Ramen and Tuna Crispy Rice. The portion sizes were nice and worth it in my opinion. Tuna Crispy Rice - The rice is very crispy and crunchy so if you're a fan of textures you'll love this. They give you a generous portion of tuna which is spicy. This item is great for sharing. It has very good prices for ramen compared to other ramen places around central Columbus.

For some reason I can't quit this place although I'm never blown away! I think it's because I like the selection of appetizers & dumplings/dim sum. The ramen is unimpressive but never terrible. The atom Yum is delish but it's definitely spicy. All the dumplings are good but they don't pack the dipping sauce well & it's always spilled on them. The lava egg yolk buns are one of my favorites. Wish they still had the sesame balls. Overall, it probably won't be my last time ordering from there.

I wanted to love this and sadly I did not. The service and the atmosphere of the restaurant are both great. The sushi was where it went down hill. Tried both the tuna crispy rice and the Super Three roll. I did not enjoy the flavor or the texture of the food. Maybe the ramen experience is different?

I've had my eye on them since Chatime closed. Had to try their food! They don't have sushi on Tuesday's, so I settled for the Tan Tan Men ramen and ordered crystal shrimp dumplings. Delicious and filling! The ramen wasn't super spicy. Maybe medium heat? Great flavors! The dumplings were exceptional! You could tell it was fresh and the wrapper was made by hand. Fabulous! Can't wait to come back!

I wanted to love it but was underwhelmed, all 3 of us were. Everything was just ok. The broths were not as tasty and rich as we hoped. Expected more (as far as taste) for the price. Will not be returning. I wish them the best of luck, it looked family run. They were really nice. My dad got the spicy chasu miso and he didn't think it was spicy at all, but the guy got him a different hot oil sauce to add and it was better.

Crawfish roll was surprisingly tasty. All the food was very good. Service good as well. The piped in music was a bit of a downer, ruined the ambience.

A new fast casual restaurant with great food and service. Ate there with a friend and our food was terrific. My friend ordered the meatballs and the gyoza and really liked both of those items. I ordered the Raksa Curry and it was supposed to be hot but it was a little too hot for me so I asked for a lemon wedge to squeeze on it and then it was perfect. It was loaded with broccoli and chicken and had a ton of flavor. The soup and bowl entrees that I saw, including my own, were large portions. The folks around us ordered various misos and ramens and they looked wonderful - just loaded with stuff. Very comfortable and clean. I will definitely go back.

Lunch at Kirin. Very quiet. I ordered my fave the Ajo Ramen. It came quickly, piping hot, and with a smile. I live on the other side of town but when I'm in the area I love coming here. Free two hour parking in the back. Super clean, inside & bathrooms, thanks for that.

Probably helped in no small part by the lack of those dimsum trolley/carts that are pushed into your face as you're trying to enjoy what's on your table. If I had to pick just one, the Hung Sai Gow would be the star of the meal. The shrimp and cilantro filling were densely packed like a meatball; it was both hearty and bursting with flavours! We purchased another serving to go and it was a purchase well made. The turnip cakes is always one of our evergreens and this did not disappoint at all! The egg tarts were the least photogenic of the lot, looking pale and under-baked, but thankfully it tasted better than it looked. It was nothing to write home about, however with nothing to complain about either. The oddity, if we may so, for us was the sponge cake. We were curious and decided to try that on a lark. It was mildly sweet, very very bouncy and airy, and felt it must have been steamed instead of baked. We took it home and had it with our afternoon chai/milk-tea. It was delish. Actually we purchased one more to go so we were "blij ei" as the dutch would say! And oh, the mango pomelo shake was really good and I would highly recommend it (if you enjoy mangoes). The service was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance was calm and relaxing. I would definitely go back!

We got a few dim sum dishes as well as Chinese home style dishes as well. As for the dim sum dishes, the scallop dumplings were my favorite because of how chewy the skin was. Although the shrimp dumplings were good, they were on the soggier side. The chive dumplings were also super packed with pork and chives, and they were wonderfully crispy. The spicy pork dish was very good, with lots of thin sliced pork, squash, mushrooms, scallions, and onions. If you're into spicy food, definitely enjoy it with their pickled jalapeños and red pepper oil. Chinese stir fried veggies make it so easy to get your fiber in as well. These veggies were super flavorful with lots of garlic and they were tender too! We finished the meal with some fortune cookies and the best part of the meal was how friendly and sweet our servers were. The workers were elderly men and women and they were so nice. They made sure we had everything we needed and even gave us candy as we left. It reminded me of how much I loved seeing generations of families getting dim sum together on the weekends. When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

We had to wait a little longer than usual, but the truck is new, and operated by one woman. First out was the Pork Potstickers. The potstickers are sold individually - $2/piece. A side of what tasted soy/teriyaki dipping sauce. They were full of flavor! Hot. Solid consistency. The pork was a delight! As we waited for the second dish, we were given Crab Rangoon to try. A bit too much cream cheese for my tastebuds, but not bad, nonetheless. Want to add that the triangles were filled full, so that's always a plus for getting your money's worth. Great crispy fried taste of the wrapping. Oh, and Emily offered us a free bottle of water to compensate for the delay. The truck did not have cooked noodles (for the Spring Rolls), so Egg Rolls it was. They were fantastic! Chicken and veggies. The dough was cooked to a slight crunchiness. Satisfying! I'm excited to try the Steamed Buns and Dumplings, as I'm currently crushing on those! I hope her dishes are as solid as the food I had today!
