An update...plumbing had major issues in the bathroom. I had to replace the cartridge in the shower. Had to fix the toilet housing. Had to replace the tub drain. The grout has also began to crack in more places and is completely coming out on the bathroom floor and the kitchen floor. I will have to have someone re-grout the entire area around the tub to prevent water from leaking in. read more

I submitted a request weeks ago and received a copy of what I had submitted in response. No explanation or communication of any kind. After multiple requests for a response, even if only to say they couldn't take the job, I received absolutely no response. So very rude and unprofessional! I need to change my review. The communication problem was a website issue. Lance contacted me. He was very professional and apologized, saying he would get the problem fixed. My husband and I would give them more stars if the rating system would allow it. It took us 2 + years to find an honest, clear contractor who communicated on a daily basis with us. What a difference from the other 4 contractors from whom we worked to get bids. Kirby did major remodeling in our home, removing walls, adding windows and installing a brand new kitchen. A new floor was put down on the first floor. The result is stunning!!! We love it!! Kurt our go-to manager was accurate, and fun to work with. He made all the difference in our project. We definitely highly recommend Kirby to all folks in the area. Very happy to be contacted by future customers who want a personal reference. I would give a Zero rating if I could! Melanie showed up to look at 2 bathrooms refresh I was planning. When I followed up a couple days later, I was told that quotes typically take 2 to 3 weeks!!! Really!!! In these days of fast, cheap computers, on-line price book etc...and we are talking 2, 3 weeks wait for a quote! Two weeks later, Melanie sent this email - "We just received quite a few new contracts and our schedule has filled up until the fall. I apologize for any inconvenience and wish you luck with your project". Quote Verbatim. What this really reads is "Your $20K job is too small and we ditch you to take the $100K jobs". The last contractor that behaved like this was Reno Renovator in 2014....and they shut down recently. Note that the last raving review was .... March 2017. I have used Kirby construction on several projects. I have been very happy with their work. I would highly recommend them.

I will not be giving any stars to this company. I asked to have a quote to renovate my kitchen and the female design person that showed up was not friendly at all. First off she called me and assumed that I was not home because I did not hear the doorbell. I explained that I was home. She seems like she had a chip on her shoulder with an attitude and rude remarks. Such as "I am not psychic" When she showed up she had no idea what room I wanted worked on and she did not seem to be interacting with me or giving ideas or suggestions she just kept asking me what I wanted done. I was hoping to get some expertise/advice about the renovation of my kitchen. I did call the company back to let them know my awful experience and she was very professional and apologetic. I am sure the company is a good company though I am not sure their female design person is the right choice for the first encounter with the customers. read more

Kirby Construction performed a remodel on our home in the summer of 2013. Lance Kirby, his employees and subcontractors were professional and their services or products that they sold to us were exemplary. I would recommend Kirby Construction to perform a remodel on your home. My wife and I had the following done: Granite, backsplash, install new appliances, stovetop, flooring and paint 90% of the interior and only touch up on the exterior. Lance Kirby is a real pro! He did and amazing job remodeling my kitchen. It went from a 70's model to a beautiful updated space. He knocked out a wall, and gutted everything. I now have my dream kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, new cabinets, and stunning a rock backsplash. Lance and his crew did it in record time and with quality workmanship. Lance did a wonderful job on interior prepping and painting for my kitchen and large livingroom. He suggested color options that complimented the open floor plan and completed the work professionally and promptly. While he was there, I asked if he could look at finishing my attic and framing a bathroom in the daylight basement. He took the time to review each area and discuss my expectations. He subsequently completed those additional jobs and I was amazed at how thorough and detail oriented he was, even with the bathroom rough framing I requested. Kirby Construction completed a major kitchen remodel for us during the spring of 2014. His proposal and budget were realistic. Many issues involving plumbing and electrical were discovered after walls were removed. However, Lance's team handled every issue and it was obvious they do this all the time. My kitchen is complete and its beautiful! Lance Kirby, Kurt and the rest of the subcontractors made this project so easy and worry-free. We actually started talking about the kitchen back in October 2013 and were about to start when we received word that the countertops wouldn't be ready until mid to late February. Lance was willing to postpone the construction and encouraged me to wait for what I wanted. He was right. It was worth the wait. During demolition and reconstruction, they kept dust and disruption to a minimum for me. Kurt and the crews were always on time. They communicated well, and were accessible when I had questions or concerns--like the flooring. I had picked out flooring, but then didn't like it. They helped me change before it was too late. Their subs and suppliers were excellent. I did some different things with a fireplace and the backsplash--if I could describe it; they could do it!!! Yay! They did a terrific job. I didn't have to worry about a thing except picking combinations that worked for me. Lance is both fun and knowledgeable. Add to that fair and competitive. Super job.
