As we walked there, I checked on Yelp what would be a good place to go, and Gangnam Style popped up as number one. Having walked around a few blocks on Princess Street already, it was clearly the only restaurant that was packed. Between seeing how busy it was and the Yelp rating, I thought it was worth giving it a try. We walked in, and waited a couple of minutes for them to clear and clean a table for us. Nothing noteworthy about the look of this place, but it was clearly full and doing good business even at 4:00pm in the late afternoon. We ended up trying the following: - Cheese Grilled Teokbokki: Very good. Sometimes I find teokbokki drenched in sauce, but they go easy here, which was a nice. - Bulgogi Soup: Good. Tasted great and good portion size. - Boneless Korean Fried Chicken (Honey Butter): Good. We ordered a half size which is more than enough to share among a family of 4. Chicken was tender and skin maintained it's crisp. Honey Butter was good, but the chicken was drowning in it as there is so much sitting on the bottom of the basket. - Dolsot Bibimbap: Good. Sometimes the hot stone doesn't get hot enough to crisp the rice, but thankfully, it's done right here. Service was ok. It feels very much like a family business, so staff are friendly and polite enough, but their main focus is just keeping service running because they are so busy. Overall, a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely consider returning here next time I'm in Kingston. (For note, I walked up/down Princess Street the night after, and this place continued to be the busiest restaurant on the entire street)

The seating is a little tight for those with accessibility issues. I didn't check out the bathrooms. The staff were super friendly and helpful. By far my absolute FAVOURITE sushi place in Kingston! I've tried a variety of different options on the menu - from lunch boxes to specialty rolls and even desserts (this is where my green tea mochi obsession started!), and I have never been disappointed! My absolute favourite thing is the Plant Power poke bowl, it's so filling and I crave it every other day. The service is also always friendly and quick which is much appreciated. The restaurant itself is rather small and the tables are very close together (a little too close for my liking), and if you are ordering takeout you could be waiting on the phone line for a little while. These two things would normally make me take off one star, but I love the food and service here so much that it still deserves 5 stars in my eyes!

Ordering is done via the QR Code on the table and menu consists of everything you would normally expect from Fried Chicken to GamJaTang to Bibimbap to a variety of soups and stews. One thing you don't get upon sitting is tea. Not sure if it's because the clientele is mostly students. Everyone gets a glass of cold water. Good choice of soju and other bottled drinks. What we ordered: Soon Tofu Stew with Pork - decent sized cubes of pork in a spicy tofu stew served with a side of rice Pork Katsu - served with a gravy on top of the katsu and side of rice and cabbage slaw Spicy Chicken - served with rice and a fried egg on top of the rice Flavours were good and portion sizes were okay. What was sad was the banchan we were served. Again not sure if it's the customer population but what we got was not spectacular in choice or flavour. I actually think it's gotten worse. Regardless this is a good place if you want a comforting Korean meal in a decent setting.

Unlike most Korean places, you need to ask for the side dishes (kimchi, potato salad and bean sprouts). Overall, one of our favourites! Half and half chicken: This is a mix of the Korean sauce fried chicken and Korean fried chicken. Perfect to share for groups where some people like spicy foods while others can't handle it. Dukbokki with ramen: This is a perfect spicy meal for a cold day! Good to share between 2 people. Rice cakes: This is made with the same sauce as the Korean sauce fried chicken. Highly recommend this appetizer! Kanpoong Chicken (large): We weren't quite sure what this was based on the name, but it was very good! It was a nice blend of sweet and savoury and goes well with white rice. **Follow @smfoodd on Instagram for more reviews!!

I got a medium Original Milk Tea with Hazelnut Flavouring $4.30 and added tapioca pearls for another $0.50 ($4.80 total). I asked for half sweet and regular ice. I didn't really taste much hazelnut flavour, and it was still really sweet for my tastes (I guess I should have ordered quarter sweet). It didn't have a strong tea flavour either. Fortunately, it wasn't too rich nor too creamy. I didn't get that much tapioca, but I guess it was ok because I found the tapioca too mushy. The place looked clean and service was fine. I've had better bubble tea, but I've also had much worse, so this place is ok. Maybe other flavours are better. Also, I just had bubble tea and didn't try their food or other offerings like shaved ice. I love shaved ice, so might have to return to try that :)

Shaved ice left a lot to be desired. Not a lot of flavor, strawberries did not look very fresh and the portion was pretty small for the price ($7 I think?). This place does get pretty busy because it is one of the go-to student spots for some Taiwanese food and bubble tea so do be wary of that. Service was fast and seating was comfortable. Would return to try a few more desserts or when I'm craving bubble tea although I have heard from some friends that they take a long time to make bbt.

We were very pleased with the food, and location near the base. Many people were coming in to take out so you could tell that this is a loved spot. I ordered bibimbap and it was very very good. I typically like the dolsot bibimbap, but it was not an option, so I was surprised how good my dish was. The vegetables were fresh and well cooked, the flavors were excellent. The beef was very tasty. I also enjoyed the banchan - in particular the cucumber kimchee was fantastic. It was probably the best I've had anywhere (at least in recent memory). The regular cabbage kimchee was good too, and the pickled daikon were tangy. They offer small, medium and large sides of the banchan, and I could definitely see ordering extra of those. Our server said she makes the cucumber kimchee fresh every day multiple times a day to keep the cukes from getting soggy. My friend got the Ja Jang Myon which was very good too. The noodles were a great texture, and the portion of meat and sauce was generous. You can also get soju here! The only thing that is keeping my review from being 5 stars is the price. While I understand that these prices are probably necessary given the location, it was much higher than in a larger city such as Rochester. But other than that, I had a great experience and would come back again!

When we got there, we were greeted and sat at the hibachi grill instantly. There was one other table, with about 5 people, when we were sat. Our waitress was over within a couple minutes to take our food and drink orders. Within a couple minutes of ordering, my wife and I were brought a ginger salad and miso soup. The ginger salad was your typical ginger salad with crunchy vegetables and bright dressing. The miso soup was some of the most flavorful miso soup I have ever had, and it made me want a second bowl seeing it was a colder day. To start I ordered a spicy maki combo sushi, which consisted of spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, and spicy salmon rolls. The sushi came out relatively fast, and was very presentable. All of the sushi tasted fresh, and did not have that fishy taste that I have had with getting these rolls at other restaurants. After a little while, our hibachi chef came to our table, greeted us, and had us move to the seats in front of the grill, seeing we were the only two at the table. He started off by making sure he had the correct orders for us, and then lit the grill on fire, which had a very nice warmth to it. The chef did a great job putting on a show for us, while cooking our food! Our chef also had some good throws, when myself and my wife both caught pieces of broccoli in our mouths. The chef was also funny and squirted water into both of our mouths, from a bottle that had a top that looked like a child was peeing the liquid out . The chef made sure to tell us everything he was doing while he cooked our food. I ordered the chicken and steak hibachi with fried rice, vegetables, and 2 shrimp. The vegetables had a great cook on them, with that distinct teriyaki flavor. The steak and chicken were both cooked well. I was gladly surprised the chicken didn't have that dry/squeaky texture it some times can. The rice was okay, it had good flavor but seemed slightly over done. The 2 pieces of shrimp were good but nothing to write home about. Overall, we had a great time. Our hibachi chef was amazing, and my wife and I will be back in the future.
