I was really surprised that Watertown has an Asian grocery store, so I had to check it out. It's rather small, but it has lots of products in the small space. It definitely feels like a small mom and pop Asian grocery store. Prices are a bit high, but when you're the only game in town, that's how it is. I didn't buy anything because there was nothing there that I can't get back home (in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) for cheaper, but it was nice to see an Asian grocery store in a small town in upstate New York. There's free parking in the back of the store, and you can enter though the back door where the parking lot is. read more

I was very excited to see an Asian market in this area. I am currently working here on a large solar-electric project. They have a WONDERFUL selection here, and prices are reasonable. The staff is beyond polite, they even will open the door for you to exit. My Vietnamese wife will certainly love to come here to visit me during my work-trip !!! read more

Visiting from out of state and wanted to make Korean spicy pork for my family. Excited that that have a Korean market in the north country! They have most of the essentials but I didn't see much of a variety of fresh produce or frozen pre-sliced meats typically found in a larger Korean market. The owner was very friendly and helped us load our goods into the car which was very kind. The store is very small and feels a bit cramped, but if you know what you're looking for you'll most likely find it. My only complaint is that it was very hot inside the store. read more

Small space PACKED with lots of mostly Korean goodies, from fresh to frozen. I went there the other day for the first time, hoping they would have gochujang. Not only did they have it, they had it three different sizes! I also found a curry mix I'd been looking for/wanting to try. They have an assortment of fruits, veggies, drinks, sauces, pastes, candies, snacks, treats, ramyun/ramen and other treats. They even have the special edition KitKats! And lots of cooking ware, even a personal burner/stovetop. I was very impressed with the selection. I can't wait to go back and really look around. I saw some other reviews that said the prices were a little high, but I found them to be quite fair for what I bought (a small container of gochujang and two packets of Korean curry mixes were about $10 all together.) I rather shop there/locally than spend all my coins at Amazon or a place like H-Mart or go out of town (which I'm not knocking, but to me, you can't beat the convenience of local access at reasonable prices.) Parking is behind the building and there's also a back door that's treated like an entrance. They also have a basement but I'm not sure what's down there/if that's open to the public. For what it is, it is not bad: it is an Asian market in North Country - come on people! The prices are high because they have to transport it up there. They are a small business with small shelf space and not as many customers because they serve a smaller population than Syravuse. That's how business works. You can drive down to Syracuse and get slightly cheaper items, that is true. But it ultimately comes down to how much you spend on gas and what your time is worth to save a few dollars. Think of this market as your corner store Asian market - you're going to pay more for convenience. read more

Small store but very clean. Runs by two elderly Koreans and they seem very helpful and friendly. She had her hands full too with a little toddler (grandkid possibly?) running around and always trying to go outside lol. Most of the meat and fish are frozen but they didn't look frostbitten. There is a limited selection of fresh produce: bitter melon, long squash, bok choy, long bean, napa cabbage, lemongrass, long white radish I forgot the name of, a couple more IIRC. Eggs, basil, pepper are a few other items for sale. There are many Korean products for sale, refrigerated or frozen, from snacks to meals (in a bag, just cook/heat & serve) to desserts (manufactured/processed and homemade). So many different variety of Korean style ramen on the shelf, each looking hotter than the previous. And there's kimchee, seaweed, lotus stem, and more other delicious looking things in the fridge. I was specifically looking for things to make pho and Asian Market has the "seasonings in a bag" I was looking for (Pho Pasteur). Small but decent selection of fish sauce, soy sauce, and other condiments one might need for an Asian dish. Of course the selection of Korean products is bigger but I had no problem finding sriracha, fish sauce, plum sauce, and lots of other sauces with interesting names on the shelves. Pretty decent selection of teas. Parking is in the back as well as the entrance of the store. Open 7 days a week. read more

Hooray! After going weeks without homestyle Korean cooking, my mate and I discovered this little shop conveniently located in downtown Watertown. While it's no H-Mart, Asian Market suffices as long as you can either improvise your recipes or supplement your shopping at another grocery store. They have a very limited selection of meats and produce. We got a package of samgyupsal (pork belly) that was more thinly sliced than I would normally prefer and didn't have skin attached. I spotted more unique meat items such as beef tongue and pork blood. For produce, they have an assortment of Asian vegetables (to my greatest delight, a bucket of huge goguma/Korean sweet potato!) but lack basic items such as green onion, lettuce, and other things you could find at any other grocery store. So it's not too much of a tragedy. They do seem to make their own kimchi here, and it tastes very fresh with a definite kick of spice. I will probably leave mine in the fridge for a little longer to ferment to my preference. What this market does not lack is seasonings and sauces: sesame oil, soy sauce, hot pepper paste, black bean paste, and more. You'll also find plenty of spicy ramens, teas (green, barley, rice, and weight loss!), and Asian snacks. Because the owners are Korean, I noticed they mostly carry Korean brands and ingredients. A plus for me, but it may not be an ideal situation for customers who are cooking an Asian cuisine that is very different from Korean. read more

Love this place they're friendly, helpful, and almost always have what I want. It is expensive but not unreasonable. By the time you figure in gas, time, and wear and tare on your car it's actually cheaper. They also have friendly and helpful service. read more

Great little Asian store in this area. Good assortment of Asian good, lots of Korean, filipino, Vietnamese and other stuff. Very clean nicely organized and run by a elderly Korean couple. Some items are priced a little on the high side but after all this is the only Asian store in the Watertown area. All in all it's a great fine and a great asset to the Asian community in this area. read more

Business itself is all right but if you're not 90lbs, be prepared to have "jibang" tossed at you by other customers while looking at you like you don't understand what they're saying. (It's Korean for "fat".) Like, I just came in to get overpriced white miso - sorry I ain't a K-Pop idol and I just ran in after two classes and a workout. I'll just order on Amazon from now on. Visit here periodically for sweet rice flour used in baking. I am not Asian and do not cook Asian, but love to walk around looking at everything. The lady who runs it has the nicest personality! I love going there just to browse and of course buy my flour. read more
