Today I stopped in with my 8 month old daughter for lunch. The food was outstanding - but the service and friendliness were beyond exceptional. First the service: Sarah and Bobby were working and welcomed my daughter and I, helping us into a high chair. It was a little slow for them on a rainy Monday lunch, and Sarah entertained my daughter a bit and made a special little dish for her which she gobbled right up. It was clear my daughter was getting fussy in the high chair, so when I took her out, Sarah ran over and asked if she could hold her while I ate. She kept my daughter busy with bells, looking at candles and playing. It was really, really kind and she had my daughter laughing and squealing with delight. The food: We eat a lot of Thai, and this was really solid and well done. Everything was extremely fresh and prepared as ordered. I had the lunch special and went with the potstickers for an appetizer. The pan fry on them was done perfectly. I had the pad see ew with tofu and vegetables. Loving this cozy place for authentic Thai food with attentive service. I usually stick to what I know (like pad thai or bamee soup), but with recommendations from our awesome waiter, trying new dishes, like the spicy tom tom papaya salad and the kinnaree noodles did not disappoint! I was even impressed by the flavors and tenderness of the meats in the dishes, like the pork in the kow moo dang and the moo ping (also pork). Nothing was super oily (which is not my preference) and nothing was dry. Every dish seemed freshly prepared and was presented beautifully. Added plus is that this place has street parking and is near to residential streets without permits. Since they have a cozy, intimate space, I would also recommend calling ahead to ask for wait times if you are bringing a large group or coming during peak weekend times. read more

I'm a little confused at these reviews. Maybe I came on an off night but it was mediocre at best. We ordered a Tom Kha soup to share- looks like they used more flour or cornstarch vs coconut milk. Just missing something. Pad see ew was mediocre: nothing memorable and beef was an extra $2 I believe. Service was extremely slow. The promise of noodles led me here twice, but only a coupon would lead me back. I had both the boat noodles and the pad siew. I had both dine in and delivery. I shoulder shrugged both times. The food was fine, but nothing memorable. The boat noodles lacked beef and seemed bland. The pad siew seemed dry as though the skimped on the soy sauce and/or oyster sauce. Not really sure where to begin here and I feel like my sample size might be too small based on just one time but wow, what great food. Ordered delivery on a Friday night, was told it would be an hour and it was. Food was hot and smelled great. It only got better from there. I ordered the Pad See Ewe, Boat Soup, Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls (this was for two people). More than enough food, felt very fresh and the soup had a nice amount of heat. Both the crab Rangoon and egg rolls were delicious and not like your usual run of the mill take out/delivery. So excited to have found this place. One complaint, the egg roll order has 3 pieces. Casually walking by the neighborhood, we got hungry and saw this thai place. We went in on a Saturday around 5:30pm. It was pretty empty during the whole time we were there. We saw a few people taking out food. We ordered som tom (spicy papaya salad), tom yam soup, and a pad thai. Overall food tasted pretty good. I thought the som tom portion was a little on a smaller side, compared to other thai restaurants I have been to. But it was very refreshing and tasty. Tom yam soup was also pretty good- it was a little different from what I am used to. Broth used was maybe chicken broth? I'm not sure but it was more flavorful and had less sour taste than what I'm used to. It was still good! Lastly, the pad thai was good. I had it with pork- the pork was fantastic! After getting a check, we were served with some cut up watermelons and cantaloupe. That was very nice of them!! I would come back and would like to try curry. read more

This is the worst pad Thai I've ever had. My chicken was extremely dry, there was no flavor, and absolutely no spice. The "fresh rolls" aka spring rolls were a complete mess. Neither end was wrapped (like they should be) so everything just kept falling apart, and there was so much lettuce in it i didn't taste anything else. The sauce that came with it wasn't good either. The soup however, was pretty good. Only thing in my order that had flavor. Also, the girl on the phone told me 30 minutes, when I arrived I waited 30 more minutes inside. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with Kinnaree. We pass by this unassuming place quite often, as it is in our neck of the woods, so I decided to look it up on Yelp and saw some pretty positive reviews. We were looking to try something different than our typical Thai go to spots, so decided, apprehensively, to give Kinanaree a try. Suffice it to say, as I know this is likely the case for most of us, it is rare to find a place that, after trying, everyone in the house agrees that they would order from there again. We stopped in for an early dinner prior to a recent weeknight show at Facets. We've been looking for a really good Thai restaurant for the past few years, with no luck. Kinnarree doesn't seem to be that place, but it was A-OK. VIBE: The place was essentially empty on our visit, so very quiet. No frills, but still warm and welcoming. It seems to do a good take-out business. SERVICE: The man on duty was cordial and helpful. The food came out promptly (no surprise). FOOD: Good, but not great. Sam tum salad was fresh, tasty and spicy. Both the panang curry and the spicy basil entrées featured tender meat (chicken and beef, respectively), but were pretty one-dimensional, relying mostly on green and red peppers. Rice was so-so. BYO is a nice feature. If I'm in the neighborhood again and in the mood for Thai, I'd probably return. The food is decent and the staff was friendly. read more

This place needs help. First, a takeout order took almost an hour to be prepared, and only 2 tables in the restaurant had customers/no other delivery/pickup. But I could overlook that if the food was good. It was not, unfortunately. When a menu lists the ingredients, the kitchen should not deviate and toss in other things... My green curry was awful with the added mushrooms and peas. The chive dumplings were soggy wet and tasteless. The panang curry was so watery, I'm not sure if it was actually curry. I'm very happy to have found this place. The egg rolls were flakey and crispy and the cabbage was peppery and fresh. That's hard to find in the crispy egg rolls. I was most excited about the green curry. Just a bit of spice, and creamy and just so flavorful. But beyond that I was so happy with the veggie selection in there. Three types of peppers, peas, eggplant, tomatoes, and asparagus ....and all cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy. More of a 3.5. I actually quite enjoyed the food itself. I got delivery Friday night, which was quick...about half hour vs. the eta of 60-70 minutes (albeit I'm not that far away). The lady called me when she arrived. She was very nice but very hard to understand because of an accent, but whatevs. I was disappointed to see that they forgot the accompanied jasmine rice to the spicy basil dish with tofu, which my friend enjoyed anyhow. I thought my boat noodles were tasty and would get this again. I did think the portions were on the small side though. We also got the jade dumplings and while I enjoyed some healthier/veggie options, this was nothing special...just plain spinach stuffed in a wrapper, but I guess that is what I should have expected. I would have liked it to be seasoned or more flavorful somehow. It also didn't help that they were all stuck together, but I'm sure it would not be the case if dining in. I can safely say that this place is the epitome of authentic as their menu is their proof. I've been looking for Thai restaurant near work and I finally found it! I was really excited that they offered a lunch special for pick up (usually you have to dine in) and I was not disappointed. Choose from 5 specials and they come with a little appetizer as well. Such a good value and the food was amazing! Pad thai and egg rolls for $8? Can't beat that. I'm also really excited that they have mango sticky rice. Didn't get it this time because it wasn't on the Yelp menu :( but I will definitely be back. Service was great as well. I lost my taste for Thai food a while back since most of what I run into seems to be the same thing , but this place resurrected that! Very flavorful dishes. My favorite by far is the Kinnaree Noodles. I love the crunchiness. It reminds me of Fritos. The panang curry is also very delicious. Try the Thai ice coffee while you're there. read more

Following the owners from their previous location on Belmont, the short trek continues to be worth it! Kind and accommodating, the dishes they bring out are always fresh and authentic. Tried out this restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed what they had to offer. Started out with the chive dumplings. It was a nice simple appetizer and the sauce really complemented the dumplings well. Also got the chicken satay, which I've seen at other restaurants, but never tried before. Not too sure how it compares with others, but it was good and the plating was excellent! Som tom salad was refreshing and had a nice kick of spice to it. Then out came the duck curry. It was full of flavor. Definitely way better than any curry I've tried anywhere. Couldn't get enough of it. I took a panang curry to go which was also still really good even as take out. Happened on this place because it's around the corner from my work - but what a find! Very solid food, the young man in the front is very polite and quick to serve, and a reasonably priced lunch special mean I'll be returning for many mid-work lunches.
