Amazing staff! Amazing experience! Couldn't have asked for a better time! From the front desk to the shuttle driver, it was great! I have no idea what the negative reviews are! I've floated several rivers in other states and this was by far the best! Quiet, serene, and professional staff! They told us ahead of time that the river was fairly low and we would have to tow the canoe possibly at some points, which was totally fine with us! It's a river, it's nature, suck it up! Haha The canoe and equipment was in great shape and they even lent us a cooler and provided ice! The driver of the shuttle was knowledgeable and super friendly! I would recommend this to anyone! We will definitely be back! The only disappointment was the pictures they show online and in brochures didn't seem to be part of the trip we went on which was why we chose this outfitter to begin with! But regardless, it was a blast and we will be back!!! Thanks y'all! Amazing trip!

River was great, people were nice, but they left my Jeep, with the keys in it all day! I have to mention how unorganized it all was. Three people asked us the same questions, no one seemed to know what the real deal was. One employee even said, "yeah, they aren't the most clear in the office." Their idea of a shuttle service is you drive and drop off your kayak then they drive your vehicle back to where the river will let you out. They ask, where are you going to hide your key in your unlocked vehicle, and they are going to move it... as if that wasn't sketchy enough, I don't have the doors on my jeep. So I get off the river, and my jeep isn't there. No one that works at the outfitters is there either. So I walk the 3/4 mile trek up the dirt road, after floating in the sun and drinking beer for 6 hours mind you, to the office where they tell me they couldn't find my key... Excuse me, they laugh about how they can't find my key, because that's a joke? Either you're wrong, or the key is missing, neither are a funny situation. They promptly drive us up to my jeep only to find the keys, IN PLAIN SIGHT. They were under the mat, like I said. I saw he keys as I walked up, you know, because there aren't any DOORS on the thing. It sat there all day, no doors with the keys in plain sights. The guy apologized, and he did seem sincere, but he only blamed someone else for the fault. I paid $150 bucks for three of us. We rented one kayak from here, and all we needed them to do, as we drove ourselves to the drop off, was to ride my Jeep to the spot I'd get off the river. They did not fulfill this service in any capacity. I paid $150 to rent one kayak for a day. Lesson learned, last time using this Outfitter. It's not as pretty a float as the Buffalo River anyway.

We did not stay at the resort. But we took canoe and kayak rentals and it was the best experience…read more Canoes and kayaks are usually booked during summer days. But if you call ahead and book, they will hold it for you for a couple of hours at least. We took the self-driven canoes and kayaks and we did not face any problem because the water current is slow and water is not too deep at all. Their rental start at 9am and you have to return the canoes and kayaks by 4pm. Believe me, you actually need that much time :) We reached at 9:30am and completed the paperwork and started kayaking at 10:30. We went upstream till the dam and then came back downstream and reached the same place where we parked our car. You can keep your stuff in a bag in a canoe. But the kayaks don't have that much space - you can carry a waterproof packet at the most. There is a very less chance you will get wet. Self-driven canoes are $20+tax and hold 2 people. Kayaks are $25+tax for 2 people and $20+tax for single person. Totally recommend this place! Good customer service and really a great place to spend a day!

I grew up coming to Spider Creek Resort in the early 1980s all the way through the late 1990s and…read morehad not been back in around 25 years. Sadly, the loving care that was once evident everywhere is no longer there. The cabins are in serious need of maintenance. I called a few times prior to finally booking online because I couldn't catch anyone on the phone. Our keys were pinned to a corkboard at the office when we arrived around 3:25 pm. When we checked out the next morning at 8:36, there was also no one in the office, although a housekeeping(?) vehicle drove past us to the cabin. It was a very impersonal experience and not at all what I experienced as a child and also when I returned with my own young children years ago. I did text and call Kelly as I would have preferred to give this feedback in person, as well as settle my account. No shampoo or body wash in the bathrooms, but there were some soap bars. Bring a hair dryer - there isn't one. Pro tip: We didn't think there was a bath mat, but it was folded under the tissue holder on the back of the toilet. Water was hot and the pressure was decent. Our cabin (no 2) had gray hairs on one of the pillowcases and the sheets had multiple tiny holes. There was a streak of black on the ceiling of our cabin above the bed that might have been mold but honestly am not sure. The expensive tv ads that run in the DFW and OKC market could be better spent on Thompson's water seal for the exteriors and refreshing the ancient carpet and sheets/beds. That said, if you think of it as a glamping experience it might not be so bad. Sadly, this will most likely be our last visit here. Giving it two stars for the creek and river views.

He is really knowledgeable about the area and very passionate about fly fishing, and he wants everyone he takes out to love it as well. He is also very good at his craft -- we watched him pull in 5 trout in 3 minutes at the end of our trip (watching this was almost as fun as the fishing itself). Thanks so much for making a great trip for us, Erik!

I really loved the amenities such as pizza and firewood delivery. The pizza tastes like buffet…read morepizza. Sweet crust and greasy, everything you need after a long float trip. The water shoes in the shop were a fair price. The large cabin was perfect, being close to the main cabin. I would've preferred having outlets where we slept, which was the pullout couch under the stairs.

Overall, I recommend this campsite. I booked this last minute, so one of the few spots that were…read moreopen was at the late night loop. The noise ordinance is midnight for the rest of the campsite other than the late night loop which is 2 AM (or at least that's when things got quiet). Our campsite had great shade but wasn't on the water (late night loop 104) but was near the bathroom which I appreciated. The showers and toilets could be cleaner but I feel like there is only so much they can do with the amount of lake swimming and sheer amount of folks using the restrooms. I definitely recommend water shoes not only for the lake but also the showers. Although I brought supplies for making French press coffee, I ended up getting an iced late at the coffee shop in the main office. We had some of the breakfast buffet (carton eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was all pretty good. We signed up for a glow tube night trip on Friday and a float trip on Saturday. Both were fun but I don't think I'd need to do 2 float trips in a weekend in the future. The resort drops you off at the tubing drop site up the river and you end either at the resort or a mile up the river where they'll bus you back. It's pricey but it does include a lot of amenities and is definitely a one stop shop for tubing. I think next year we'll look into the cabins or pods. ;tldr it's pricey but you get hot showers, toilets, coffee, and busing for the float trips built in. Late night loop is rowdy so if you want something more quiet, consider avoiding this area.
