    The float

Normally my family and I will camp and float at a campground a little closer to our home in Kansas City, but because of the weather, we went on the hunt for a new spot! It was a beautiful drive to Trigger Gap and it was easy to find. From our campground to the pick up spot was a quick walk down a small trail. The campground was nice, but there is no running well water and the porta potty was hidden. The water felt amazing and was crystal clear. Great spots for kids to jump from rocks and places to rest. We brought our dog and he's never had so much fun in his life. When the float ended, there was a smoker where they were handing out pulled brisket sandwiches with chips. I've never experienced that in all my years of camping and floating. It felt like we were at a big camp out with our family. All of the campers and floaters were around the smoker and hanging out. I heard there was a band that came during the evening...? THE PEOPLE may be some of the nicest people I have EVER come in contact with. My gosh, this family is so accommodating and so friendly. It felt like you were at a cookout with your family and friends. I would absolutely chose this campground over our usual camping spot.

Perfect in every way! The outfitters made sure we had the perfect gear. Was an entertaining ride to drop the vehicles off at the Destiination point. They were very conscientious of Covid situation. The river is absolutely beautiful.. can't wait to come back after a little bit of rain! My sister and I have always kayaked. This time we tried a canoe. And gee was it an adventure but we did get the hang of it and it was a blast! I would say it's a perfect river for a beginner or if you have children with you. Definitely will be back again and again.

15/10 would recommend! If you're in the area and catch a glimpse of this, do NOT miss out!…read more My partner and I had an amazing time! Our guides were so personable, accommodating,& not overbearing in that "Your a tourist so we have to do the small talk" thing. It was actually cool, like going out to the lake with friends. I originally picked Sup for the Cliff Diving feature, which to me is exactly what is needed during a vacation. My partner wasn't a fan of that idea so we found a more "relaxing" vibe, settling on the Sunset Paddle. Best thing for me is while we did our Sunset paddle our guide suggested doing a cliff jump& I was so excited! It was exactly what I wanted and I valued the suggestion since my partner wasn't interested in it. I was the only person at first who wanted to jump, the guide said he'd jump too. Little by little the whole group, INCLUDING my partner decided to join! It wasn't one of those "Peer Pressure" things. Just good ol' inviting nature coupled with words of encouragement. It was a huge highlight for me. So many options: Cliff Jumping, Sunset paddling, Eco Tours, lounging chairs to relax at the lake in. They pretty much have it all& the cherry on top: PRICE! No price gouging. If you have your own gear it's even cheaper. They sit at $20/Person for the tour when you have your own gear. Small wins in this economy. Yes we could've just went out with our own gear and got to mosey around, but it was so nice to be guided where the sun sets perfectly. It was absolutely perfection. **I wish I had more photos but we had such a good time we hardly took any and our guide took most of them!**

Our 14 year old tried the paddle board with Dillon's help and he did well. The tour was the right choice for our inter-generational, not very athletic group. We put in just under the dam. The water is cold but it was 100 degrees in mid-august so it was great. The current was not flowing from the dam, so we had to paddle the full distance of 8 miles. This is not a no -issue. It takes a fair amount of effort with no current . But it was epicly beautiful! Well worth the effort. Take food and water. Make sure you have protein. I'd do this again anytime. Justin runs a great operation.

We booked 2 single seater kayaks for the 4-mile adventure on Lake Taneycomo ($39 per person). There is no guide, you go at your own pace but the adventure in its entirety is about 2.5 hours. They will drop you off at one point of the lake and pick you up at a marina located 4 miles from the drop off location. The service includes life vests, the kayak and the paddle, and the shuttle service. We had a great time overall. Our driver and the other guy who helped unload and load the kayaks were great! The first thing you need to know is that the check in is located inside the gas station. We weren't sure who does the checking in part but we asked someone who worked at the gas station and they immediately pointed us to the right person. We enjoyed the lake. I felt tired after, but it was worth the adventure! You get to see some wild life up close and personal and relax as you paddle through the lake.

We had a full kitchen with utensils and appliances (coffee pot and toaster). Also a washer and dryer (with soap). I got a boat to just cruise around a little and the marina folks were very accommodating. We jointly picked a boat appropriate for me, they gave me a thorough explanation of boat controls and protocols, and pointed out a couple places to see. The pool is heated and right outside the Tiki bar, which was very convenient. There was live entertainment even in the morning and afternoon. The restaurant was closed (late in the season) but they did serve some food in the Tiki. All in all, a very nice stay.

I am greatly disappointed by my stay at Rock Lane Resort in Branson Missouri. My spouse and I went…read moreon a week vacation to this resort for his birthday, we paid to stay there for 6 days. We had paid for a lake view room with a patio and our patio door did not open at all. Maintenance didn't come until hours later to work on it and still couldn't open it. We switched rooms and moved all of our belongings into the new room there was a hornets nest and wasps nest in our new unit. We then called the front desk and they said maintenance will work on it. Hours went by and they had not. We went to try and talk to the front desk employees but their front desk closed at 8 leaving no one there to help us which I've never experienced at a resort or hotel. We then tried calling the front desk and there was no answer. The manager Heather called us and had a very angry and rude tone. She said we were being difficult and basically entitled to feel the need to call so much. She said it was absurd for us to call the front desk 4 times within the span of 15 minutes, well I think it's absurd to be forced to stay in a room in that condition. We told her we weren't trying to be difficult and that there was a hornets nest in our room and she said, "A hornets nest wow that is crazy, I just can't believe it" in a sarcastic tone. She then said just wait for maintenance to get there. They never showed up. We never got compensated, refunded, or taken care of in any matter. Not to mention the amount of spider webs everywhere. We checked out the food at the resort and my chicken sandwich was basically frozen still. The only good thing to come out of our stay was the pool and the drinks were nasty. I will be visiting Branson again but I will never stay at this resort again and will advise others not to. They lack empathy, kindness, and hospitality. My spouse and I tried to make the most out of our trip but this place ruined it. Even if they would've shown the tiniest bit of concern or kindness I would be reacting differently now but they completely ruined the image we had of this place.
