We did not need shoes, just left our sandals on the shore. The water was nice and warm in mid June. We were out for 3 hours and hung out in a cove for awhile with a trickling waterfall. We found cliffs to jump from. There were barely any boats on the water on a Wednesday afternoon. Melody warned us of high winds, but that wasn't a factor.

I booked with White River online in the morning, and that afternoon I was on my way to have a little adventure. From checking in, to getting ready for my voyage, and being on the water in great equipment, I had such a lovely time. Fast forward to about a week ago, I traveled back to Branson for a musical, and I knew I had to go back to White River. I had the same experience with great staff, study/safe equipment and a peaceful journey on the river. The store has a lot to offer for purchase including: clothes, water shoes, sunscreen dry bags and more. You have the option of renting dry bags and a waterproof speaker at a pretty low cost. The dry bag is a must. You're given options for which trip you want to take. My sister and I chose Taneycomo, and it was a little under 4 miles. (We were provided a map for the trek.). We were picked up from out ending point, and taken back to the original location. Sn: Any business that offers free period products is alright with me! Love this place, they will always have my business when I'm in town.

It takes a fair amount of effort with no current . But it was epicly beautiful! Well worth the effort. Take food and water. Make sure you have protein. I'd do this again anytime. We booked 2 single seater kayaks for the 4-mile adventure on Lake Taneycomo ($39 per person). There is no guide, you go at your own pace but the adventure in its entirety is about 2.5 hours. They will drop you off at one point of the lake and pick you up at a marina located 4 miles from the drop off location. The service includes life vests, the kayak and the paddle, and the shuttle service. We had a great time overall. Our driver and the other guy who helped unload and load the kayaks were great! The first thing you need to know is that the check in is located inside the gas station. We weren't sure who does the checking in part but we asked someone who worked at the gas station and they immediately pointed us to the right person. We enjoyed the lake. I felt tired after, but it was worth the adventure! You get to see some wild life up close and personal and relax as you paddle through the lake.

The pool is heated and right outside the Tiki bar, which was very convenient. There was live entertainment even in the morning and afternoon. It was easily one of the most unhygienic hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. On top of that, the front desk staff weren't friendly or helpful. We weren't given any information about the property or amenities, and they seemed uninterested in offering any kind of service. The parking lot was mostly closed off due to construction, and we weren't warned about that either, which made getting in and out of the property a hassle. This place advertises itself as a "resort," but charging $600 for this experience is unacceptable. It felt more like a rundown motel than a relaxing getaway. I don't usually write negative reviews, but travelers deserve to know what they're getting into. I would not recommend staying here. Was called by someone who works here saying "we've never had anyone complain of the rooms being gross. And the exterminator came and didn't find anything". And they were throwing it back on me for not calling to complain. Well in my experience, that tub, carpet, couch and roaches aren't going to be cleaned over night. So what exactly could they have done? The cleaners shouldn't have left this room like this.
