Don was a great guide and our family had a awesome time! Caught several fish, the largest a 27lb striper.

A couple of big Striped Bass

Had a great time with Ray. December 29th, 35 degrees, cloudy and windy and he was "on it". No complaints, no hurry, chatty and friendly when me or my group was ready to talk......... and two monster Stripers. It was terrible weather and even started to rain and all Ray said was "we can do another pass". We did and we caught another fish.

Had a day trip with Don Andreason today on Beaver Lake. Didn't limit out but caught four stripers Don is the hardest working guide I've met

The guides are very knowledgeable of fishing for Striped bass. Our group of 6 had a great time on the water

I grew up coming to Spider Creek Resort in the early 1980s all the way through the late 1990s and…read morehad not been back in around 25 years. Sadly, the loving care that was once evident everywhere is no longer there. The cabins are in serious need of maintenance. I called a few times prior to finally booking online because I couldn't catch anyone on the phone. Our keys were pinned to a corkboard at the office when we arrived around 3:25 pm. When we checked out the next morning at 8:36, there was also no one in the office, although a housekeeping(?) vehicle drove past us to the cabin. It was a very impersonal experience and not at all what I experienced as a child and also when I returned with my own young children years ago. I did text and call Kelly as I would have preferred to give this feedback in person, as well as settle my account. No shampoo or body wash in the bathrooms, but there were some soap bars. Bring a hair dryer - there isn't one. Pro tip: We didn't think there was a bath mat, but it was folded under the tissue holder on the back of the toilet. Water was hot and the pressure was decent. Our cabin (no 2) had gray hairs on one of the pillowcases and the sheets had multiple tiny holes. There was a streak of black on the ceiling of our cabin above the bed that might have been mold but honestly am not sure. The expensive tv ads that run in the DFW and OKC market could be better spent on Thompson's water seal for the exteriors and refreshing the ancient carpet and sheets/beds. That said, if you think of it as a glamping experience it might not be so bad. Sadly, this will most likely be our last visit here. Giving it two stars for the creek and river views.

The river is 45 degrees so not swimmable for me, but the lake is a 3 minute drive away and it's a nice place to spend the day. The water is sulphuric so I recommend you bring some bottled water for drinking/cooking. Also, bring bug spray because the skeeters and flies will eat you alive! you get a free river float trip if you stay at least 3 nights. Not far from eureka springs either if you're a shopper!
