Entrance to cavern

A Hidden gem a little drive out from Eureka Springs. Jeffrey was our tour guide and was so kind -- we enjoyed the experience! The hill getting back to the entry was pretty steep.

2 cuddling bats - A tiny bat is hanging upside down from a cracked, textured ceiling surface, possibly in a cave or cavern setting.

Our tour guide Wayne was the best! He was super comedic and make it a pleasant experience. This was such a hit for our group and we were even lucky enough to spot 2 cuddling bats!

Awesome family activity to explore this beautiful area. Adam was such a great tour guide too. A nice little 10 minute walk to the cave and then about 30-40 minutes in the cave. Kids loved the mining for gems after as well.

As someone from the Chicagoland area, we don't see this kind of stuff often around us. We came to visit my grandparents and decided to come by here and it has been one of my favorite stops of the trip. The land surrounding it is breathtaking. It's hard to remember that America has such beautiful places like this. Beaver lake and that river ( connecting with boat access) as you walk down was beautiful to see such clear calming waters. The cavern was jaw dropping. It was stunning in of itself, and just left me in amazement. From the temperature inside being constant, to the thousands of years old formations within the cave. Overall this place is a fun and gorgeous experience and is a great stop to add to any individuals, couples, or families stop.

Great cavern tour! Our tour guide, George, was funny and super knowledgeable about the cavern and surrounding Beaver Lake area. Beautiful land and well maintained cavern areas. Be warned, if you are claustrophobic you may struggle with the low ceilings in some areas. Gorgeous cavern system. Easy walk. Hour long tour, worth the entry fee!

Great place. Everyone is friendly. Tour through the cave was interesting. Fun place. Highly recommend.

I thought the signs on the drive in were tongue in cheek jokes about no cell phone service. But they were right. And that's ok, gives me more time to enjoy the nature. Our tour guide was John and he was great. He had his standard jokes and script. But he also was very engaging with our group. The tour took us in to the caverns where we learned much about caves and caverns, bats and Jesse James. Then we were allowed to walk around and take in the sights above the cavern. I highly recommend spending a couple of hours here. The tour takes about an hour.

The tour starts here. Open late this year special occasion

Timing is everything. We got here after lunch at the War Eagle Mill (see my separate review) in time for last tour of the day and one of the last for season. Usually they close at end of Oct and open in Mar to allow the bats to hibernate undisturbed. But open a bit later this year. Your tour guide makes the show so get a good one. Our group was small in number and wide range in ages 5-70+. Tour takes an hour after walk down to opening, inside and then back up. Wear flat shoes and duck you head in places. If you have mobility issues (cane/walker etc) this tour is not for you. Our tour guide was excellent having been on staff since 2003 and done a bunch of tours especially school groups. BTW: get an education on bats; bat poop used in fertilizer food, rum, tequila, and gun powder production.

An underground cavern with rough rock formations, uneven ground, and minimal lighting, typical of natural cave exploration.

Great side trip and nice drive out of Eureka Springs. Beautiful scenery hiking down to the cave entrance. Great story telling by our guide Jeffrey

My boyfriend and I were driving through the area and looking for something fun to do outside to kill some time and stretch our legs. We decided to stop here and it was a great decision! Adam was an amazing tour guide. He really knows his stuff, is super friendly, and was great with the kids in our group. Obviously the cavern was really cool too! We definitely recommend stopping here if you're in the area.

Cavern is interesting, one hour guided tour, and 56 degrees year round. Stay away from the cafe, however. Food almost inedible and pricey!!

There was also a nice gift shop and maze we meandered through where we learned about the different Indian tribes.

Her very first words were, "Why are you here?" -- no greeting, no courtesy, just instant hostility. We were only there to take a quick photo of the outside and look at the grounds, as we were considering renting the venue for a wedding. We're from out of town and were in the area just for the weekend, but she immediately accused us of trespassing instead of simply asking what we needed. To make things worse, she blocked the driveway so we couldn't turn around properly, forcing us to back through the grass rather than letting us move forward a couple of feet to the wider part of the drive. I'm also quite sure her behavior was influenced by my alternative haircut and color, which made the experience feel even more judgmental and discriminatory. We will never come back here or recommend this place to anyone.

We went on the history tour, but it was disappointing. The castle itself is interesting and it was…read moreinteresting to see the interior of the building. The tour guide did his best, but his script was rather mediocre. His presentation was repetitive and I had a hard time hearing him over the sounds of the air conditioning. You were not allowed to take photographs unless you requested permission prior to taking each one you wanted. The tour opened with a short video which could have been interesting except the narrator was unintelligible. I was able to decipher about 10 words during the 6 minute film. There are a lot of stairs on the tour (no elevator) so this would not be a good tour for anyone with mobility issues.

It's amazing to see how water literally forms the earth. And in a world of endless digital entertainment, Onyx Cave Park offers a wonderful alternative. The only improvement? It would be cool if their pre-recorded guided tour could be rewound, forwarded, or jumped to the number stop that you would like to be repeated. A few of our headphones got off a bit in our party, and the poor tech ended up separating us on our journey through the cave.

When we found the visitor center (down some ramps that were pretty steep!), we decided to do the cheaper, non-guided tour because we were on a time crunch. We received some headsets with the audio loaded on them, and started our trek. (if I went back, I'd get the more expensive tour to get the guided tour element, which seemed to be an extra 30 minutes with a guide after you go through the caves). As we went through the caves, there is an audio overlay that tells you more about the caves. Unfortunately, some of the sign posts were no longer in place (We weren't sure where a couple of the stops were because the signs weren't there!), but it was easy enough to get yourself oriented with what the audio guide told you. Honestly, it was such a fun time, learned a lot of trivia, and a cool way to spend about an hour (we took forever in the caves bc they were fun!) on our weekend vacation. 4 stars due to the missing sign posts but 5 stars for the random fun to be had on the tour!
