I recently had the opportunity to be a participant in the Basin Park Hotel ghost tour. It was…read moreexcellent! It began on the roof of the hotel, with a extraordinary view of downtown Eureka Springs, where we we provided the history of the area-as narrated by Joseph (who was both well spoken and knowledgeable)! We were additionally given a history of the colorful characters formerly residing In the hotel and were provided access to a free app, that we could use on the tour, showing us the paranormal activity actually taking place right around us. The tour lasted almost 2 hours. A great way to learn about the history of Eureka Springs, the paranormal activity in the hotel - and to have fun. Highly recommend it!

We started at Basin Spring Park - right in the center of town with a history of how things started. Megan, our guide, then took us below ground to where buildings were centered prior to moving upward due to mudslides. For much of the rest of the tour, we traversed the main business street really from one end to the other (Spring St) with architectural history, stories about buildings, stories about the town at various points in time, and another spring at the far end. You finish about 3 blocks from where you start - a gradual uphill. Megan was great; didn't need a script; answered all questions and ensured everyone could see everything. Great intro to Eureka Springs. Interesting there were 10,000 people living here in the late 1800s, and now just over 2,000.

The promised catacombs are really…read morejust a short hallway/tunnel (you do get to walk through a hidden door in a wardrobe which I think makes the whole experience worthwhile), but it was a really interesting piece of history. Super fun to go to the headquarters and check out the haunted dolls and Knick knacks. I definitely learned a lot about the town and enjoyed the evening walk, even if I definitely didn't see any ghosts or feel scared. Our tour Roz (hopefully I'm spelling that right) was great, and she even demonstrated using a pendulum to communicate with spirits after the tour was finished. Highly recommend for people who enjoy spooky history but not necessarily being scared.

This is one of several cave systems in North Central Arkansas. We have visited War Eagle Caverns in…read morethe past and other caves throughout the US. It was very scenic, and caves do differ in their internal formations. Some have smooth walls and large open caverns. Some are more jagged with twisting, narrow passages. This was more of the latter. Word to the wise: steep stairs formed out of rock, passageways where a person had to lean sideways to pass through. I bumped my head on one and I'm short. Expect constant dripping from above due to 100% humidity, with wet walkways, stairs and railings. You could easily slip if not prepared. In fact our guide told us the back section of the cave had been closed to tours because it was now too slippery. We were able to see some bats at the end of the tour. As jagged caves go, it was impressive. Our guide's jokes felt scripted and forced. We found him not terribly friendly, and no one laughed. He did not seem to enjoy his job. Aside from that, it was an entertaining way to spend an hour and a half on the way to Eureka Springs.

If you reserve in advance, you can get an excursion train, or a lunch train, or a dinner train. We reserved one - a couple days in advance, but not enough people signed up. So they cancelled it. As a result.. we spent 45 minutes exploring the museum and the grounds and stayed interested. And met a local cat.

Concrete engulfed the grounds. Much of it looked like add-ons. It's a pity that more bricks or stones weren't used to add more character and appeal. And oh what a hot July 23, 2025. My dog did well walking in the shaded areas with me. Live music seems non-stop here. Overall, it was a nice area with many shops, a few restaurants, at least one all-things dogs shop, and a simple yet really good ice cream parlor. Across the street in between some shops was a public restroom. The separate women's was a bit of a ramshackle to be honest. On top of that, my two young daughters kept laughing, giggling, and whispering at all the stupid messages and sexually-charged drawings on the walls. Metered street and lot parking nearby.

Tour is very well organized. The Bear Creek Winery is in an amazing location with great views from the deck. Driver was very friendly although I'd recommend being proactive about asking questions about the area as the tasting and dinner is the focus, this isn't a sightseeing tour per se outside the 4 stops. Dinner was downtown in the new area of Branson and food and service were good but not "gourmet" about what you'd expect as this isn't a foodie tour. You have a choice of chicken, steak, or salmon. Given the reasonable price for the whole experience though, if you are a steak connoisseur I'd skip the steak, not bad at all, but the Salmon and Chicken are in my opinion better options if you are finicky about your steak.

We had 9 people to tour the second weekend in December. They were able to get us a driver and van…read morebut had to pay for a private tour due to our group size. For the price (just under $700) the tour was not worth it. A lot of lights were out during our drive thru at Great Wolf Lodge. We then went through the Joy lights that were pirate themed. Not impressed with either display. At one of the gingerbread stops, our group went to grab some waters/soda, when I informed our driver, she said she had bottled water the whole time. On our way back to our drop off location, we experienced a blown tire. Our driver tried contacting her company and she said no one would answer her. I ended up texting the owner informing him that we were on the side of the road with a flat and no one would answer to help her. I received no response but moments after the texts were sent, our driver received a phone call. My husband and brother in law ended up changing the tire so we could be on our way. Our driver told us the owner would be in contact to "take care of the incident and help she received from our group". A week after the tour, I had to reach out to the company because I did not hear from them. The owner Joe called and had a list of excuses as to why he didn't reach out. He also told me that when he received word of us on the side of the road, he had to step out of a show he was viewing while on vacation with his wife. He told me he fired our driver and she had our contact information. He didn't want to tell me how much he would refund so he didn't insult us. he wanted us to tell him how much we wanted. After discussing with our group, we decided on a reimbursement amount and I texted Joe (the owner). We came upon an amount by saving someone from changing the tire and also not missing our driver's second tour that evening. My second text was to confirm he could just refund my credit card and not mail a check and he said yes. Another week goes by with no credit card refund. I texted the owner again and he finally says he can't refund us the amount we decided on but could give us half of what we requested. He'd also refund us our credit card fee. When I asked if he had my card info, he said yes from our initial registration. Ironic that he now has my info but didn't when it came time to reach out to us initially. If you do utilize this company, hopefully everything goes smoothly so you don't have to deal with the owner to settle things. Good luck!

During the Temperance movement and before the Prohibition Era she was known to go to taverns and break up the alcohol and beer kegs by way of an ax. The area her home is in is really quaint and I loved all of the eccentric cottages along the winding road. The house was not open and I didn't see anywhere to park. I parked off up the road and walked back to view the house. The house is right on top of the street and the back of the house has a drop off a cliff of some sorts. I'm glad I stopped by, but wish I could have explored further.
