This is one of several cave systems in North Central Arkansas. We have visited War Eagle Caverns in the past and other caves throughout the US. It was very scenic, and caves do differ in their internal formations. Some have smooth walls and large open caverns. Some are more jagged with twisting, narrow passages. This was more of the latter. Word to the wise: steep stairs formed out of rock, passageways where a person had to lean sideways to pass through. I bumped my head on one and I'm short. Expect constant dripping from above due to 100% humidity, with wet walkways, stairs and railings. You could easily slip if not prepared. In fact our guide told us the back section of the cave had been closed to tours because it was now too slippery. We were able to see some bats at the end of the tour. As jagged caves go, it was impressive. Our guide's jokes felt scripted and forced. We found him not terribly friendly, and no one laughed. He did not seem to enjoy his job. Aside from that, it was an entertaining way to spend an hour and a half on the way to Eureka Springs. read more

This place is so cool to see at least one time. Adult tickets were $22 and kids were $11. Our tour guides name was Katie I believe and she was amazing. We lucked out and got the tour to ourselves so she explained everything so well and we got lots of photo ops. My 8 year old thought these caves were so cool and the whole tour took about an hour and 15 minutes. The have a little gift shop too. read more

This is a fantastic tour. The guide was great and a beautiful cave. The travel throughout this cave is a little more on a moderate level. Lots of stairs (steep/uneven), narrow tight paths, and low clearance. Now, don't be discouraged bc they have no problem waiting for you. They also offer a wild tour that requires ALOT more skill, but you end up going about 800 more feet back into the cave. This cave is still actively being discovered, which to me makes it more exciting. I would so recommend and wish our kiddos would have come they would have loved it. read more

The best possible activity choice when it's 95 degrees out is to go to a cave where it's 64 degrees year round! The drive from Eureka Springs was pretty quick but it is out in the boonies a bit. Our tour guide Landen was super knowledgeable and personable! We had a really large group but he did a great job of keeping everyone together and making sure we could all hear and see. It was really cool to see all the unique formations and hear the history of the cave. The sunken raft was wild to look at! I was super curious about the further sections of the cave, and there is a "wild tour" that's more adventurous that goes further out. Def one of the cooler caves I've been to! Recommend if you're in the area and looking for something fun to do. read more

Celebrating its 175th Anniversary [Sept 4, 2020] There were many cavern tours to choose from in Missouri but we crossed over to Arkansas to check out this cavern. Cosmic Cavern is located in Berryville between Eureka Springs and Branson. We took a tour that lasted approximately 1.15 hour. There was a small group of ten of us including our tour guide, Lisa. We descended steep stairs, ducked through low hanging cave ceilings, walked through narrow passageways, and get through a few tight spots. The fascinating sceneries of remarkable stalactites, pure white soda straws that covered the ceilings of North Lake Passage were a sight to see. There was even a visible fault line above one of the sections we stopped. The best part was the room they called the "Oh My God!" Room... that was also the end of our cave tour and the start of the Wild Tour for the more daring folks. After describing what it entails I couldn't do it... it takes guts and probably some experience to do it. We saw two of several underground lakes inside the cavern that was pretty cool. The cave is well lit and it was 64° underground... that's year round so whether it's hot or cold outside you get to enjoy a comfortable steady 64° weather inside the cavern. We took the steps slowly, taking our time, holding onto the rails and sides of the cave. Our tour guide was ever so patient with us but while we were amazed at the limestone that surrounded us our tour guide was more amazed with my Mom. She was wearing wedge sandals in this tour! After our short adventure we were invited to have some cake on their upstairs floor. We each had a slice... yummy! The tourist trail follows a long, water-filled canyon along a fault-line in the limestone. Some steep, tight, twisting stairways would not be appropriate for some visitors. Having visited many commercial caves around the world, what I found unusual in this cave are the 9-ft long soda straws (!) and the abundance of helictites and its finer variant called "cave hair." As related by our guide, previous owners did some bad things like burning rubber tires to expel bats, and introducing trout to the cave lake, which ate the existing cave fish. After our tour, we ate our picnic lunch on the grounds. Lisa the cave cat came to our table and helped us with our meal. read more

We didn't know what to expect on this cavern tour especially after reading reviews for several caverns around Eureka Springs but we are sure glad to have picked Cosmic Cavern. The cavern tour is a little pricier than some of the other caverns but it is over an hour tour and it is really beautiful. Make sure to wear good athletic shoes for the tour, there are very steep stairs and also some bending over to reach the deeper rooms of the cavern. Our guide Steve was very knowledgeable and was great at educating us about the cavern and its history. He is very passionate about the cavern and it shows on his guided tours. The cavern is still active and there are two lakes in there. The lights are well placed to emphasize the beautiful features of the cavern. Cosmic Cavern was definitely a nice surprise on our trip to Eureka Springs! read more

We visited while on spring break vacation staying near Branson. We have been to several caves to include Mammoth & Carlsbad. The kids are older now (12,9,6y) and enjoyed the tour and history behind this privately owned cavern. We spent maybe 1.5-2hrs there and enjoyed the experience. read more

A beautiful and amazing experience. Without a doubt one of the best caves I'll ever visit. What ruined our experience was the guide named Carson. I do not recommend him at all. He was rude and not aware in his guide. We felt as well that he acted racist thought the guide. For example he let others take more pictures and while we tried to take some (even tho we still had a lot of time left because we checked) he decided to turn off the lights on us. And we know it without a doubt because as soon as we were exiting he only said thank you to his "kind". Very nice place but we as the group that accompanied me do not recommend Carson. read more

The tour is excellent with very knowledgeable guides. Our guy never got stumped on a question and was quite witty. For my "FEAR OF HEIGHTS" peeps. The first 20 or so steps descend straight down. If you don't handle stairwells very well this is your warning. It quickly gets level and no other issues during the exploration. There is an optional Budda Room that you are warned about the steep narrow terrain near the end of the tour. I let my group go without me and they said I could not have handled it. I've done other cave tours and this is as good as any I've been to. If you have knee problems and can't use stairs very well, this is not for you. read more

I had no idea what I was getting into when I went on a cavern tour. But it was soooo worth it! The caves were dark, wet, slippery and intense. It's amazing how much the tempature drops the minute you get below ground. There were tons of steps to go down but our tour guide made sure we went at a safe pace and were comfortable. Before taking this tour make sure to wear good shoes, dress in cloths you are ok with getting a little wet or dirty, make sure you can crouch and walk bent over they low spots and tight spaces and that you can climb up and down about 100 deep steps. None of that was in the reviews or online when we looked. But saying all that, our tour guide was fun and amazing and she made the experience a blast. We took tons of pictures and would definitely recommend it to others. read more

It was a trek out in the middle of nowhere, but once we were there ... WOW. I have been to several caverns, and this was amazing. I will say you do not want to go down there without good shoes on, or if you have significant physical limitations. If you bring a purse or bag, it would probably get muddy just from brushing up against things. There are some steep stairs and crouching to walk through openings. I've been to a lot of caves in my lifetime. Didn't have high hopes for this one, but it was close to home and I had family visiting. Boy was I wrong! Our tour guide Adam was a wealth of information on the history and formations. He was great at each stop about giving you info of how to navigate the next part without hitting your head. Did I mention that there are a number of steps and low spots? There are, a few on our tour got a bit winded, Adam was good about talking and waiting until everyone was ready to go again. The cave itself was well lit and has a lot of nice formations to enjoy. I especially likes that they haven't gone and made it all fancy lighting and polished railings. As you go down that first set of steps you feel like you are stepping back in time, into a cave the way caves ought to be. Thanks you Steve and Adam, I'll be back again soon! read more

There are stairs and tight spaces to walk through and bend over while you walk through along the tour. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way through Arkansas to Memphis. We had a very nice man greet us and get us on the very next tour within 5 minutes. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. We learned about rock formations, process and journey of digging, the bottomless lakes, wildlife, and more. There are some amazing tidbits of info to hear! We traveled with a group of parents with young kids (we're in our early 20's) and everyone was kept entertained. The kids got to learn about rock types and the adults got to ask any really obscure questions, all of which were answered thoroughly. The walk was very wet and active, so definitely wear good shoes with tread! I made the mistake of wearing my flats, but it was still safe walking through (I just had muddy shoes). Tour lasted about 1.25 hours, but I wish we had made it for The Wild tour (3-4 hours) where we free climb further into the cavern. We just didn't have enough time. But I would honestly love to come back for this unique exploration tour sometime! Definitely worth a detour through the Ozarks. read more
