The staff was awesome from the start! We had a short wait for the tour so like any adult with no kids along, I bought a bag of stuff to sluice for a diamond....or something. I came away with no diamonds but some decent sized stones, one of which was amethyst. The first cavern was the big one. It had some beautiful formations. We received great information from our guide and a little history lesson. Be sure to wear shoes with good grip as the stone steps may be damp as you go lower. At the bottom of the second cavern, you are 110 feet below ground level. Again, wear the right shoes as it is damp. The formations were beautifully lit for your viewing pleasure. If you are visiting Branson, this is just a little more than 30 minutes on down the road! read more

A must see if you are traveling in Arkansas. We were staying in Hot Springs which was a 3 hr drive but it was totally worth it! They have two caves but we only did the mystic cavern one due to time. They closed at 5. They also have a pretty extensive gift shop filled with crystals and knick knacks. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. Make sure your shoes can get wet because the cave floors were damp and had puddles. It can also be chilly in the caverns. Amazing experience! P.S I have to say driving up the mountain to get here was a journey in itself! There were not many pit stops to use the restroom and the only real food place was subway which was about 30 minutes from the caverns. They have a small community in the mountains but it is small and not everything is always open. Beautiful drive up though. Not for the faint of heart if you are scared of heights because there are many drop offs where you see the valleys 1000 ft below. read more

It is a tradition on our way back from Branson, we always go to a cave. We drove an hour the opposite way just for this cave and it was definitely worth it. Our tour guide Ben, was absolutely amazing. Give this guy a raise. Seriously. The tours were very cool and and we found it very interesting. We were seated quickly when we came in. Our server was quick to help us. We had read the other reviews and were excited to try this place. They serve your drink in mason jars, which a great start for me. I got the Chicken Pot Pie. I was hesitant because no one had mentioned it but is was awesome. I had to make myself stop eating it because I wanted to try some dessert. My husband got the Chicken Fried Steak and it is the reason I gave this place a four. He said his steak was very chewy. It's a good diversion spot, especially when it's raining. Crystal Dome is the better of the two, if you are short on time or don't want to spend the full 90'ish minutes to see both caverns. They are both small compared to other I've been on, but they have cool formations and our guide was knowledgeable (albeit not witty or humorous, so things seemed to move at a snail's pace). We had a good time, but it's kind of "been there, done that" experience versus others which leave you wanting to see it again. read more

Very neat place! Lots of beautiful things to see in the caves. One which was subject to vandalism and looting over the years and one that was kept pristine since found. The one that had the broken stalactites and such has a rich history and was my favorite of the two because of it. Our guide Ella was amazing! The gift store had some fantastic prices too. Wonderful tours for a great price! Beautiful natural cavern, interesting histories, and a friendly and enthusiastic guide all made for a wonderful experience. My girlfriends and I considered this well worth our time to stop on our way to Branson. The gift shop has a lot of fun and pretty items, too. Wear shoes with good traction because things can get slippery. I wouldn't recommend for those with claustrophobia, but different people suffer that differently. Just be aware of what you're getting into. Also, even in the heat of June, I was glad to have brought my jacket after my friend reminded us that underground caves can be chilly. Bring a sweater or jacket if you are uncomfortable in mid- low 60's - or lower depending on the season! I visited in June. Highly recommended for the curious or adventurous! read more

We did the two cavern tour. The first, smaller cavern wasn't all that impressive, and our guide didn't have much to say. The 5 stars here go to Micah and the second larger cavern. It was very impressive, and Micah did a great job of telling us about its history in an entertaining and informative way. He was very engaging, but not over the top, and he answered all of our many questions. Cannot day enough great things about Micah. Definitely give the bigger mystic cavern a visit if you're in jasper. read more

We loved the tour through the Caverns. After Labor Day is slow, so we got a private tour. It's gorgeous and has an interesting history as a moonshine making hideout. A nice little gift shop, friendly staff and reasonable prices make this a perfect stop for locals, or in our case, on our way back from Branson, MS. read more

We went on the Mystic tour, which lasted about 35 minutes. It was an interesting tour, which was well lit. However, as you learn on the tour, many of the cave features were damaged due to previous settlers and moonshiners. It's a short and sweet tour in a smaller-sized cave. A good tour for a short stop, but not something to plan the day around. read more

We toured both caves, and they are complete opposites: one is deep and pristine, and the other is wide and abused. Both are beautiful in their own right and boast some impressive formations. The tour guides are friendly, but some are more engaging than others. The value is pretty good if you do both tours. It took us 1-1/2 hours for both tours during off peak season. Nice tame show cave tours. You can do both the mystic and the crystal dome, maybe an hours time for both. Great contrast in that you see what a relatively dead cave looks like vs one that is still alive and creating new formations. I see no issues with claustrophobia in these with well lit, well maintained walkways. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave cave history during the tour. read more

Joey did a wonderful job explaining the different points about the caverns. It is a beautiful place with lots to see. You can even get a bag of rocks to sift through and find different minerals. The temperature in the cave might be a little chilly for young children and older people. Overall a wonderful day trip. read more
