The host is great at selling the place online, but the actual property does not live up to…read moreexpectations. -the host explicitly said there'd be salt, but there was none - the propane for the grill was all but empty, forcing us to adjust our cooking plans - there was no smoke detector in the bedroom - the screened in porch was badly ripped in multiple spots - there was not ottoman - the gas fireplace was not functional - the neighbors are closer than presented in the photos - the host claims "absolutely no light pollution", yet several neighbors have bright outdoor lights My biggest issue, though, is the host lies through an automated message to fish for good reviews. Then, if she has any inclination you'll give her a negative review, she refuses to review you. She says "hi, I just gave you a 5 star review", but a week later I still never got a review. This is someone's investment property, and they charge a premium price for a poorly maintained facility. Take your business elsewhere if you're looking for honesty and integrity.

One thing we didn't like was it the screens on the windows had a few small holes so bugs came in and we had to fight the bugs for a while fortunately there was some spray under the kitchen sink so I zapped then with that. Had booked this cabin to stay during the eclipse 18 months before the eclipse. The owners had…read moreacknowledged the booking. When they realized there was an eclipse they reposted the booking on other sites and booked it for more money with no warning to us ten months later. Not only did they cancel and rebook to try and make an extra buck. They did it so late that it was almost impossible to find another place to stay. The place we are staying now cost twice as much as this place that we had paid for. This was not done on accident ten months later. This was deliberate. Would not recommend booking from them as they obviously care don't care about anything other than money.

They decided they could make more money and waited until after everything else had been reserved to cancel our reservation claiming "they over booked it". The owners emailed me the day after reserving. This was not an accident. They purposely rented it out to someone at a higher price. I would definitely not recommend renting this cabin as the owners won't think twice about canceling your reservation if they think they can make an extra buck with someone else.

One is the Reception Hall and the other is the Ceremony Hall where you gather before the ceremony. If the weather is nice they have an outdoor area, again overlooking lake for the ceremony which is stunningly beautiful. This hall can also be used for the rehersal dinner. They have accommodation in various cabins and Glamping options. The cabins are great. With decks, kitchens well stocked with equipment, fridge/freezer, stove, comfy (firm mattress) beds, outside hot tubs. The owner Scott has really but together a great event/wedding venue and he is so great to work with. There are so many other things on offer, like a small lake area with a beach area, paddle boards a beach house if you want to get out of the sun and they have loaner jeeps, to go exploring with and to get around the property in. We are already thinking we will possibly use Horsehead Lake Lodge for a future Family reunion.

Scott, the owner, was absolutely so accommodating in every way. This gem was located next to so many beautiful hiking trails.
