Ryan knew where to go to enjoy catching fish. My son reeled in a trophy sized rainbow trout that he will remember for decades! You can definitely tell he grew up in a fishing family on the water. My family and I recently decided to vacation in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and we had an amazing…read moretime. One of the highlights of the vacation was our fishing trip with Ryan. Ryan is friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I had fished some as a child, but my wife and sons have not fished much at all. Ryan had everyone deftly casting their lines and catching fish in no time at all, and we caught 20 fish in no time flat. He also took us on a brief tour of the river, pointing out sea otters, blue herons, and local landmarks. All the while, we chatted, laughed, and had a great time. If you're going to Eureka Springs, there are many fishing tours that you can go on, but I highly recommend choosing Ryan as your guide. You won't be disappointed.

The guided tour takes you through fascinating underground passageways while sharing information about the cavern's rock formations, wildlife, and history. The beautiful surroundings, lake views, and family-friendly cave tour made this a fun and memorable stop during our Northwest Arkansas road trip. I grew up coming to Spider Creek Resort in the early 1980s all the way through the late 1990s and…read morehad not been back in around 25 years. Sadly, the loving care that was once evident everywhere is no longer there. The cabins are in serious need of maintenance. I called a few times prior to finally booking online because I couldn't catch anyone on the phone. Our keys were pinned to a corkboard at the office when we arrived around 3:25 pm. When we checked out the next morning at 8:36, there was also no one in the office, although a housekeeping(?) vehicle drove past us to the cabin. It was a very impersonal experience and not at all what I experienced as a child and also when I returned with my own young children years ago. I did text and call Kelly as I would have preferred to give this feedback in person, as well as settle my account. No shampoo or body wash in the bathrooms, but there were some soap bars. Bring a hair dryer - there isn't one. Pro tip: We didn't think there was a bath mat, but it was folded under the tissue holder on the back of the toilet. Water was hot and the pressure was decent. Our cabin (no 2) had gray hairs on one of the pillowcases and the sheets had multiple tiny holes. There was a streak of black on the ceiling of our cabin above the bed that might have been mold but honestly am not sure. The expensive tv ads that run in the DFW and OKC market could be better spent on Thompson's water seal for the exteriors and refreshing the ancient carpet and sheets/beds. That said, if you think of it as a glamping experience it might not be so bad. Sadly, this will most likely be our last visit here. Giving it two stars for the creek and river views.

I cannot say enough about Austin and the experience we had going fishing with him last Saturday! My…read morehusband and I caught an incredible 56 TROUT in just FOUR HOURS! At multiple points throughout the morning, Austin had to multi-task to keep up with fish we were pulling into the boat!!! I am not a super experienced fisher, but he was totally understanding, helpful, and funny. At no point on the trip did he make me feel bad for my lack of experience, and he made sure both my husband and I had a stellar time. We will absolutely be recommending him to anyone who will listen!!!! The next time we are in Northwest Arkansas, you can also be assured that we will book another trip!!!!

Austin not only helped us catch fish but taught us how to trout fish in this region and explained things in a clear way without condescension. Austin takes care of everything from providing gear to cleaning the fish! Enjoyed it thoroughly.

The noise ordinance is midnight for the rest of the campsite other than the late night loop which is 2 AM (or at least that's when things got quiet). Our campsite had great shade but wasn't on the water (late night loop 104) but was near the bathroom which I appreciated. The showers and toilets could be cleaner but I feel like there is only so much they can do with the amount of lake swimming and sheer amount of folks using the restrooms. I definitely recommend water shoes not only for the lake but also the showers. Although I brought supplies for making French press coffee, I ended up getting an iced late at the coffee shop in the main office. We had some of the breakfast buffet (carton eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was all pretty good. We signed up for a glow tube night trip on Friday and a float trip on Saturday. Both were fun but I don't think I'd need to do 2 float trips in a weekend in the future. The resort drops you off at the tubing drop site up the river and you end either at the resort or a mile up the river where they'll bus you back. It's pricey but it does include a lot of amenities and is definitely a one stop shop for tubing. I think next year we'll look into the cabins or pods. ;tldr it's pricey but you get hot showers, toilets, coffee, and busing for the float trips built in. Late night loop is rowdy so if you want something more quiet, consider avoiding this area.
