I first reviewed Barth's 18 years ago, and it still remains the main source for nearly all the meat…read moreand fish that I buy. I am eating less beef, but what I get here is high quality. I buy their boned, rolled, and tied turkey breasts for Thanksgiving. I cook them sous vide, and my guests say its the best turkey they've ever had. Their all-homemade pastrami, bacon, and smoked sausages are a treat. Their fish and seafood is also always super-fresh. I buy their Scottish salmon, both fresh and smoked, swordfish, scallops, etc. They bake fresh baugettes every morning right in the store. These are my favorite baguettes from anywhere around here, including local bakeries. I also like that their imported cheeses are pre-trimmed with no waste, no rind or wax to cut off and throw away. Barth's has a great selection of condiments, sauces, gravies, etc. Also a large selection of good frozen pasta, my favorite Ritter German chocolate bars, Bahlsen cookies, and quarts of local Magic Fountain ice cream.

I've heard nothing but great things about Barth's Market, and I finally had the chance to check it…read moreout for myself. I'm so glad I did! Barth's is a family-run business, not a huge supermarket, which is part of its charm. The atmosphere has that welcoming, old-fashioned neighborhood market feel. Everything is clean, neatly displayed, well organized, and easy to find as you walk around. Even with such a large variety packed into the market, it doesn't feel overwhelming, and it's easy to browse and see everything they have to offer. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. They're extremely knowledgeable about their meats and are happy to offer cooking recommendations and even recipes if you're not sure how to prepare something. The meat selection is incredible. As I walked around, I saw beautiful steaks, chops, burgers, Italian and Polish sausages, chicken and veal cutlets, German cold cuts, homemade bratwurst, hot dogs, kielbasa, and a variety of wursts. They also carry organic whole chickens and chicken parts, along with homemade chicken patties and chicken sausages. If you enjoy German foods, Barth's has a nice selection of dried spaetzle and other German-style noodles, along with Kabanos and other specialty items. They also have a fresh fish department. What really surprised me was how much more they offer besides meat. You can pick up homemade prepared foods and entrées, locally sourced fresh breads, milk, eggs, dairy products, drinks, fresh vegetables, salads, condiments, and plenty of other items to put together an entire meal. I bought steaks, Italian sausage, kielbasa, bread, and Kabanos sausage, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The quality of the meats at Barth's is truly outstanding, and you can tell they take pride in what they sell. There's a free parking lot attached to the building, which is very convenient along with a couple of handicapped spaces, and they even have some outdoor seating if you want to grab a sandwich or something to eat and enjoy it outside. I can definitely see why I've heard so many good things about Barth's. Great quality, knowledgeable and friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and an impressive selection. I highly recommend checking them out. I'll definitely be back!

Have been going to this ShopRite (Springfield) off and on for several years…read more I truly like it. Nice people. Well stocked. Two constructive comments: - when I enter and turn right (just before the cakes) it smells like kitty litter. Every visit. - The pre-sliced SR brand deli case - that stocks pre-sliced ham, etc. Possible to measure the temperature in that case? That meat tends to go bad faster than other meats I buy elsewhere. Maybe adjust 2 degrees colder. Thanks for your help!

If I could give this store zero stars, I would. I just experienced the worst customer service I've…read moreencountered in a long time after waiting more than 20 minutes in a line that barely moved. The "customer service" area was crowded with lottery customers, yet there appeared to be little regard for efficiency or customer experience. Unfortunately, this visit was not an isolated incident. This location consistently feels disorganized, cluttered, poorly maintained, and VERY unpleasant. Fresh produce is often difficult to find, and the overall shopping experience falls far below expectations. Despite these ongoing issues, I continued to give them chances because I wanted to support a local business. After today's experience, I'm done. I'll continue to consistently take my business to Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Kings, where cleanliness, product quality, and customer service are clearly priorities. This location has become incredibly frustrating, and today's visit was the final straw for our family. Gross!
