Nice store. We stopped by since my wife was looking for a Mini-Tote bag from Trader Joe's, which is releasing a new collection. The line was out the door. They had a limit of 4 for customers. I am not sure what is special about these bags, but it seems that people are going crazy over them. Overall clean store. The service was nice. I only went there because the local Trader Joe's didn't have those bags, but what I saw looks like a nice store. read more

Big fan of "all things Trader Joe's" and I gotta say that the Millburn Store here is a very solid representation of their brand. So I find myself lucky enough to have three TJ's within my area of operations and I'm always interested in seeing the different types of inventory that each store carries. Plus it's a great way to get me to try new and different things instead of the same old boring stuff at other places when shopping for groceries. My only issue is whenever I really like something it's usually the thing that disappears off the shelves first, which totally sux, lol. But I guess that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes right?    Anyhow when it comes to filling up your cart FULL of YUMMMMMMERS, you just can't beat a good Trader Joe's. Nice outpost, but when I visited they had a lackluster flower selection and no one to direct the checkout line. It kind of felt like a free for all, and the parking lot was oddly crammed for a Monday afternoon. Trader Joes is like the Home Goods of foodstuffs - each location is gonna have something a lil different - oh and btw you better get it when you see it bc no guarantees on the next time. I was way up in Millburn and decided to stop in this outpost to see what new delights I could find. Cue Julia Roberts: Big mistake. Huge. The energy was so off in this location. So much so that I cut my trip short smh. First the layout makes no sense - it's arranged on a slant like a parallelogram. Second, it was 2pm and the place was swarming with stock people crowding the aisles. And I'd try to get past them and they'd just stand there lmao. Like no one used words or gesticulations. Just psychic ~brainwaves~ I guess. Shelves were weirdly empty of random items. Not even popular stuff. Just odd salad dressings and varieties of loaf bread. The only respite from the nonsense was my cashier. Shout out to him. One bright spot: a sample station of bread, creamy cheese, and balsamic but I wasn't sure which of those items they were highlighting. It was good though. Ultimately, I only spent $23. That should tell you everything you need to know. I'm sticking to central Jersey next time. read more

The parking lot is a mess and they don't open until 9 AM, but none of that matters. I will ride or die for Trader Joe's. I just finally get it. You go to any other grocery store and if you have a question or can't find something, the people who work there are so irritated that you would dare take up their time by asking a dumb question. But whenever I cannot find the largest, most obvious product, or i ask a question with a clear answer, I only have to turn maximum 5 feet and someone is always there to help me. I just love that. They just really value customer service. I go here because they get it; if you're nice, people come back. Also, I don't have overwhelming choices. I know exactly what is here. All those brands give me such an headache. By the way, how is every snack so delicious? You can just tell that every product has been tested 1 million times to make sure that it tastes amazing. The food & ambiance of the Millburn, NJ location is good. For the most part the customer service is also good, however Trader Joe's management needs to change their hiring practices! You have loyal (supposedly valued) customers. Don't treat us otherwise with your passive aggressive hiring tactics...for example: After applying with no word-calling to follow up & being informed by the hiring manager that your application wasn't accepted due to an interview that you never had?!?? Once I advised of such, being informed that individuals wanting an interviewed can come in Mon thru Thurs. 12-4pm- No appointment necessary. Once interviewed, advising the applicant that they will hear something shortly either way via email with a decision of a second interview. Leading applicants on to believe emails/phone calls will be received regarding hiring on two occasions either way & almost a month later each time-nothing is received. (I guess I should have taken the hint). Following up in store while shopping & being advised to call in a couple of hours with a decision. Then after a couple of hours being informed that your application wasn't accepted. To add insult to injury being informed that individuals seeking employment are not advised of decisions while in the store?!?? Is it expected that someone (applicants not accepted) will trash the store by being informed they're not moving forward with the hiring process?? Don't you think enough time has passed/wasted by promised emails/phone calls to be received by this process? Do you really believe a loyal customer will ever want to shop at Trader Joe's again due to this. Certainly doesn't make anyone feel valued! To think the Millburn, NJ location used to be my favorite store to shop in! Wholefoods it is...I definitely wont be back! read more

This TJ's is fantastic. Fully stocked on all the products I wanted including their elusive spf 40 daily facial sunscreen. A staff member offered assistance if we needed help finding anything- which is so pleasant. A little crowded at around 12pm but not unpleasant Today while checking out I asked the cashier if there was any good sushi spots around here and we ended up taking her recommendation and went to Umi sushi- pretty good. read more

Geez I usually come here because the parking lot is easier than Clifton Trader Joe's when I go to Orange theory. The customer service here is plain LAZY AND RUDE. They had a maple butter that was about to expire in 2 days so I asked an associate if they can check in the back to see if they had more that DIDNT EXPIRE IN 48 hours. He basically said "mostly likely we don't have any" didn't even check AND WALKED AWAY- I was like whatever ok.. go to check out, literally standing there with my heavy basket and the cashier had a cart in the way so I couldn't put it down... fine.. whatever.. I have my recycle bag out and the cashier rolled his eyes at me and just left the food on the counter. Every Trader Joe's usually packs your bag for you, unless u told them not too, just overall awful experience. I honestly expected more since I'm in "Milburn" but LOL nope.. I rather experience the awful parking lot in Clifton for a BETTER experience and no food expiring in 48 hours in the sales floor. JUST PLAIN SAD. Flowers. Chocolate. Cheese. Sometimes life happens and I need flowers ASAP. Trader Joe's to the rescue!!! They provide a good variety of bouquets and loose same-type bunches that you can easily make into a decent arrangements for under $10. For chocolate, they have good bars of varied bitterness and containers of chocolate-covered nuts, pretzels, caramels, and mints which are excellent as gifts for coworkers as "thank yous" or holiday presents. Then when I entertain guests, I come here for cheese that's a little more special to add to my cheeseboard. For seasonal items, my daughters especially like their super easy gingerbread house kit and Halloween one. Staff's extremely helpful and will go in the back to search for an item. Go Joe! TIPS/NOTES: **Most items offered are the store brand which helps keep prices low and lower than Whole Foods, but eggs and milk are slightly higher. **Plenty of parking, shared with Pet Smart. Go find the a list of the best products then buy it. My favorites so far are the produce selection, the fruits, the carnitas cooked pork is out of this world. The peri peri sauce is really good. They also had a readymade chiken salad that was delish The internet is amazing because there is also a list of items that are just MEH. This includes the artichoke spread. The label sure sounded impressive but when i opened it at home, It was just meh. Friendly staff are helpful though this place has high turn over and sometimes the shelves are empty like a snowstorm is gonna blow thru except this happens all the time. read more

Trader Joe's is a dangerous place in that I always end up buying more than I intended. The produce is fresh and reasonably priced. Cheeses and dips are always inviting. The spices and jarred sauces contain some of my family's favorites. The bread selection is great. Love that they have kosher meat! People are super friendly and service is great. Plenty of parking. Trader Joe's: Pandemic Edition Well, you're going to be waiting in line to get in, generally no matter what time you come. Welcome to the new normal, for now. But it's not bad here; there's a lot of parking lot to work with so everyone is super spaced out and even if the line looks long, it moves faster than you'd think. Masks are a must as of this writing, and along with the lines outside, I imagine that will be the case for a bit. While waiting, you may be lucky enough to get a show in the parking lot; last time we were there a very friendly TJ's employee put on an amusing juggling show for us. Once you do get to the door, you will be given an incredibly well-sanitized cart, plus wipes of your own so you can your own round. Shelves have been, for the most part, well stocked every time. A good amount of of produce, all the meat you'd expect, and the frozen food aisle continues not to disappoint. I would say the only thing I noticed to be pretty bare was the bread section, and some of the condiment/pickles/sauce area. They still had things, just not the wide selection they usually have. All in all, everyone that works here is just as happy and friendly as they usually are, which goes a long way when the TJ's crew is one of the few non-quarantine folks you get to interact with. I choose Millburn over Hoboken purely based on the assumption that the suburbs would entail less waiting, fewer people, and more space. I was right. read more

The Millburn TJ location is always busy, but it's the one I go to because it's the most organized store and cashing out at the register is the least painful experience compared to the other North Jersey TJ locations. Also, beware of the cars entering and exiting the TJ lot. Sometimes I think people don't pay attention. read more

Came here and the place was packed. Didn't have time to take photos. I got everything I needed and got out. Staff was nice and friendly. Social distance is practiced here. Cashiers were fast and friendly during the check out phase. They have so much different things here. I didn't have to go to any other place today as planned. Most of the items are way expensive compared with Costco, BJS, shoprite and everything is a mess, the place need to be more clean.

This is the one I most frequent due to convenience I try to come off peak hours because during peak hours- it's packed and people act insane . I've worked about 5 min from this Trader Joe's for 3 1/2 years and never set foot inside until today. I just had a baby 5 days ago and wanted alkaline water since im breastfeeding (healthier alternative). As I was searching for a particular item I requested assistance from an associate that took notice of my newborn and complimented him, and I for my endurance for being on my feet so soon. On my way out this vibrant, beautiful being had a bouquet ready for me to congratulate me. This beautiful person's name is Lola. While I do like Trader Joe's, I have have a huge problem with the patrons and their behavior at this particular store. It's as if everyone just had a lobotomy the minute they pulled into the parking lot. The folks in there lose every ounce of consideration they ever had. "OH Marcia! lets chat right here and block the entire isle with our carts... did you hear what happened to Harvey friday night? his gallbladder blew up in the middle of dinner?" As a bottleneck forms behind them, they couldn't give 2 shits. This about sums up the behavior of just about everyone in this store. Even During such a hard time like this. This location is constantly out of stock with most necessities. Rude employees and management who think they can tell customers anything. It's a hard time during the corona virus pandemic, for everyone, but I experienced a very good service here. When I came here I was told clearly by the clerks to stand in line and wait for the entry - only at most 25 customers are allowed inside the store at the same time. The line itself, as shown in my photo, is very sparse in order to maintain social distancing. While entering the store, they gave each of us a wipe to clean the handle of the cart. After entering it I was pretty surprised by what I saw: I was expecting to pick up left over stuff on the almost empty shelves, but it turned out most shelves were packed with stuff (note this is already 18:00), and they were put in order and look like the stores has just opened. The cashier was friendly and ask me if everything was well, he also cleaned his hands using the sanitizers before packing my stuff in the bag. Since I was trying to hoard stuff, I guess this is the time that I spent the most amount of money at Trader Joe's, but it's really worth it - the huge variety of items and the great service, definitely gonna keep supporting it. read more

This is probably the farthest TJ I have been to coming from JC. But its pretty short drive off 78 and was on the way for my commute home. The store is bit smaller than the Clifton and Paramus location but still decent size. Probably about the same size as the Edgewater location. I think it was because of the impending snowstorm when I was here but a lot of the shelves were empty which was bit disappointing. But I had a really good experience with the staff who quickly directed me to the items I was looking for. So overall it was a pleasant experience as usual in TJ. If location is easy for you to get to I would definitely recommend it as its only few minutes off 78 definitely easier to drive to compare to some of the other more crowded locations. read more

I absolutely love Trader Joe's, from the great service to the various selections, I find myself finding everything I need for groceries there. The prices can be a little higher than at Shoprite but they tend to be more consistent. The only issue would be that it has a tenancy to be overcrowded.However, this isn't too big of a deal as the lines at the cashiers move relatively quickly. read more

Milburn location: Great staff. The location is popular so there may be items out of stock. Prices cant be beat! Eggs for $2.39! Nice selection of sauces and frozen meals for a bargain. So far Ive only tried one thing that I didn't enjoy but every thing else is super tasty. I also love the fruit and veggies section. Great variety at reasonable prices. *** Review From A Westfield Customer *** Would be 3.5 stars... It's unfortunate for what happened to the Westfield location, and we do look forward to going back there when they re-open. I've always thought that the Florham Park location was closer to my area. But after doing some research, we realized that this location is closer. Here we go. We came in on a Saturday, and the parking lot was bustling with cars leaving and others looking for a spot. We were actually lucky to get a spot close-by because someone backed out. If not, then we would have parked somewhere in the elevated portion of the lot (whatever!). When we approached the entrance, we saw a sign that welcomed Westfield customers, and told us that some employees from that location were working here. Just like the Westfield location, this one sold dairy products, meats, breads, and fruits & vegetables, which were located right by the walls of the store. Frozen foods, raisins, nuts, chocolates, sodas, snacks, cereals, and more were located in the middle aisles of the store. The only difference between this and the Westfield location is that no liquor is sold here. Given the size of the store (will be explained soon), I could understand why. The employees that we interacted with were courteous, especially the ones at the cash register. When we approached the register to pay for our items (Virgil's Root Beer, raisins, etc.), the two employees asked us if we were Westfield customers. When we said "yes", they were glad to see us since they worked at Westfield. They also told us that all of their booze was transferred to the Princeton location. I take away two stars because the size of the store is a lot smaller than the Westfield one. At the time we came, the store was really crowded. The lines for the registers stretched towards certain aisles of the store. With people standing around, the place felt very cramped. With a store this small, there's no way they can additionally sell liquor here. Overall, this location is just okay. I can't say that this location is better than Westfield due to the small size and cramped areas. But until the Westfield store opens up again, this location will suffice. Depending on where you're coming from, you can utilize the local roads, I-78, NJ-24, and/or NJ-124 to come here. read more

If there is an actual Trader Joe and he represented the best Trader Joe's in the nation, this particular outpost in Millburn would surely be Joe's younger redheaded step-brother* with a face full of freckles and one leg longer than the other, teenage acne and bad breath who at least was frugal. The only thing this Trader Joe's has going for it is its namesake and the prices because if you have ever been to a big boy's Trader Joe's, this will seem like a messy closet to you. While there are attempts at streamlining organization here, due to the size of the place (tiny), it is kind of scattered. Cookies and breads stand on top of shelves over freezer drawers, the produce is jammed next to one another and the aisles (there are only really two) are angled and truly befuddling. I was expecting to be blown away with the quality and selection and while the quality was decent for produce and meats and the prices were certainly good, the overall selection was horrendous for any place, much less a Trader Joe's. It's almost like Noah's Ark, there are maybe two of everything and that's it - few, to any, options of any kind and certainly not the tantalizing display that one thinks of when envisioning a Trader Joe's. There is no chance in the world you can do all of your shopping here and chances are that even if you go in with a short list, you will leave with only half of that. I do love me some Trader Joe's. And this one is where I do about half of my grocery shopping. However, there are some issues. Trader Joe's has a lot of really good food at low prices. Their whole vibe is friendly, vaguely earthy, and kind of organic when it suits them. The products they sell, especially the canned, bottled, and boxed foods are generally of high quality and are an excellent value compared to any other supermarket. They manage to cram a lot of goods into their relatively small space, and stock persons are constantly refilling, reorganizing, and rotating everything. However, the produce department's quality is poor to middling most of the time. The fruits and vegetables generally LOOK good, and are organized well, but I can't recall the last time I got a bag of potatoes that didn't have two or three fully rotten spuds in 'em. I've gotten peppers with moldy fuzz growing inside, oranges that were nice and ripe on the ouside, but weirdly bruised and brown on the inside. We've also had problems with some of the refrigerated foods, like "fresh" pasta. We recently purchased some pesto tortelloni and threw it in the freezer as soon as we got home. When we took it out of the freezer, not two days later, it was covered in frozen mold. I wouldn't have seen it in the store, as the mold was covered by the label, but it's clear that the mold didn't grow in the freezer itself. I haven't had these problems at other Trader Joe's locations, so my guess is that there is a problem somewhere in the shipping, storage, or rotation of goods on the shelves here. To sum up: It's fine, could be better, and inspect your food carefully before you throw it in your cart. Avoid the produce, there's a Whole Foods for that not far away. read more
