This was our absolute favorite place we visited while on our random weekend getaway to Pittsburgh. They have a drink for everyone. I'm pregnant and they have a great offering of cold pressed juices and NA house-made and local sparkling water/soda options. They are just starting a coffee bar and those drinks were also incredibly inviting. I was so thankful to find a cool bar thoughtful enough to include those options in their drink offerings. I haven't even gotten to the atmosphere yet--absolutely stunning renovation of an old stable. Whether you visit for an afternoon or at night, you will not be disappointed. We visited twice! Once on Friday afternoon where we enjoyed intimate service and delightful conversation with their manager of art and creativity Scott and owner Mark. We went back on Saturday night where we got to see the place full of patrons with good music playing just the right amount of loud. We were sad we couldn't stay for their Sunday afternoon art fair. They do not serve food but allow BYOF. They have some snacks but if you need a meal, eat beforehand or bring something from any number of great establishments close by and enjoy with a craft cocktail or juice from Kingfly! Writing from multiple exceptional experiences I've had visiting and working with Kingfly. As a customer, their drinks are as unique as their environment. It is a special experience at Kingfly from the quality of their drinks to the friendliness of their staff. After visiting a couple times, I reached out to rent their venue for a large event for a non-profit I volunteer with. Noelle, their event manager, was a dream to work with and handled everything with ease and worked with our budget and complicated schedules. I think this is a super nice place to get drinks with someone and the drinks were lovely and tasty, but it is a bit pricy, $11 for just 1 drink idk... I came at 5 on a Saturday night and it was quite empty, possibly that is too early to actually enjoy the whole atmosphere and such. read more

I was recently part of a private event upstairs at Kingfly. It was a really great event in a great space. We had a line at the bar almost the whole time, and both bartenders were working as quickly as possible to serve us all. Many of us bought two drinks at a time so we didn't have to wait in line for each new drink. As part of reserving the upstairs, we had a bar minimum which was fine. But even after we all kept the bar line full almost the entire length of the event, we barely exceeded half the minimum tab so a few days later our organizer received a bill for the rest (not a small amount!). The staff wouldn't tell us during the event how close we were to reaching our minimum, they wouldn't allow us to buy bottles to go toward our minimum, and with only two bartenders there's no way we could have met their required minimum in the time of our event. Kingfly is a great place and we had a great event, but I can't give a positive recommendation after this kind of negative experience. read more

This place is awesome. We recently hosted a birthday party at the space for about 70 people. This space is fantastic and can hold many more than that - there is also a private space upstairs. I really enjoyed their old fashioned. Each drink is hand crafted with a great level of detail, which means it's not about speed. The block ice cube used in the old fashioned is cut from a huge block of ice, and then stamped with a hot press to 'brand' the ice cube with the Kingfly logo. Really cool stuff. In addition to the beautiful rustic space where you can see them actively porducing.. At the end of the day, the real tell, is the spirit quality and they are the best you'll find in Pittsburgh. Overall 10/10 experience ! Amazing unique drink menu as well as some snack options. Staff and owner were so friendly and welcoming! I have never tasted a more fresh crisp white wine (which I cannot remember the name of but its on their current menu) but it was one of the best glasses of wine I've experienced!! The environment gives off a very rustic modern vibe and with the live entertainment, it makes the whole experience one to remember. Really cool atmosphere. service was terrible, took 20 minutes to get an employees attention while the place was at 50 percent capacity. After not receiving service for that time period I had walked to the bar to order and was then told to go sit back down. Ran into the owner and refused to try and help the situation. After 30 minutes of being there I was unable to receive a beverage so I had left. Will not be going back. read more

A group of us visited Kingfly Spirits during its opening week, and we were more than impressed. While there, the owners were kind enough to invite us for a brief tour of the space. The architecture, ambiance and vibe are simply A+. Simply put, this place has a ton of character. While I didn't sample a variety of drinks, that's merely a testament to how positively I though of their Old Fashioned. I'm not sure if they're planning on holding events in the future, but I could see this place becoming an "IT" spot in Pittsburgh for networking events, fundraisers and holiday parties. My husband and I had an hour to kill before our downtown reservations so we decided to stop in for a drink. We were promptly greeted by the bartenders and I appreciated their friendly, welcoming environment. I ordered my usual, the Old Fashioned, and my husband got the Moscow Mule. Both were excellent! I liked the little attention to details too, like the clarified ice cube in my drink. It felt well thought out and added to the overall ambiance of the place. We also ordered the whipped Gorgonzola and their house mix (think of it like a spicy Chex Mix) with our drinks. I was hesitant to try the Gorgonzola, but it was.....addicting! I couldn't stop eating it. It was seriously the perfect accompaniment to my Old Fashioned. We drank outside at one of the few tables they have out front, and while the view was nothing to write home about, it was still nice to have an outdoor option. I have been following the chief Distiller Blake's journey from conception to realization and I must say, I could not be more impressed with how it has come to life. Their bar program is diverse and innovative, as is the thoughtfully conceived and impeccably crafted product line. The staff is warm and generous and I'm excited for them as they make their mark in the neighborhood and city. I got to enjoy great live jazz during one of my visits. I'm a huge fan of this spot and can't wait to get back. Totally amazing distillery set-up with a ton of character and space. Had live music the day of my Sunday visit, which, considering all of the wood on the interior, meant perfect acoustics. Was just getting over being sick, so just had one beer, but plenty of options to drink --from their whiskey/bourbon to beer/wine. Located in one of the rising Strip District spots in Pittsburgh. Could make this place into a fun afternoon/evening -- as it's also located near Cinderlands brewery and Wigle Whiskey. read more

Great atmosphere, love the historic preservation of the bones of the space. It's a great amalgamation of aged decor, aged spirits, and the sound of the living & breathing heart beat of the distill in the center of the space makes one feel a more personal connection to the art & effort necessary to fine tone the perfect balance of flavors. Learned the spiced rum won double gold in a international spirits competition in New York City and give it a try and I can see why it did!!
