Most of the food here is very bland, but I do like the fact that they have traditional Chinese buffet staples in addition to a small and very basic sushi roll section and a Mongolian BBQ style station where you can build your own and they cook it fresh for you. The Mongolian section has very few sauce options, but 5 different proteins and a ton of different veggies. There is also soft serve ice cream, but again, just not super flavorful somehow. I don't understand all of the high ratings for this restaurant - I'm calling them 2.5 stars. GOOD: You get a large amount of food for a moderate amount of money. For example, I got 2 eggs rolls, 1 big soup and 1 giant entrée for 17 bucks. It totaled up to several pounds of food, easily enough for 2 adults...plus some. The staff was very friendly and professional. I talked to one person on the phone and another at pickup. Again, very they were both nice people. BAD: The food was mediocre at best. They follow the same recipes as thousands of local Chinese food joints, nothing special whatsoever. The greens in my entrée had hardly any green left. This is a sure sign of sitting around and being overcooked to death. Whatever nutrition and flavor that was once there was long gone. No indoor seating! At least 95% of the food joints in Hudson are open for indoor seating (with common sense precautions), but NOT Kinddom Buffet. Of course, this is their right. I see a lot of whiners in the reviews complaining about the food, you have to understand you get what you pay for. Not buffet is going to be a delicious Wellington kissed by a chef, it's meant to be cheap quick food. My friend and I stopped by here in a road trip and absolutely loved the food, and we have had some pretty good Chinese food. I am blown away by how terribly reviewed this place is. Sure, it is pretty shitty, but what do you expect from an Americanized Chimes buffet? The actual buffet is pretty terrible. Food is greasy and lackluster. The sushi buffet is primarily rice and fake crab. There was one fish that taste like lake water. The Mongolian grill is the saving grace. Due to how cheap the buffet is and the available Mongolian grill I say it is at least worth it once in a blue moon. Service is basically nonexistent and what little there is seems to be children but that is what I expect from a buffet. Wow.... I really hate giving only one star to restaurants but in this case I'm kinda wishing there was a 0 star option. Usually, even when the food or experience is bad at a restaurant I still have a sense that someone is at least TRYING to make good food. I didn't have that feeling at all here. A client in Hudson recommended this place so I didn't get to do my usual Yelp scouting before visiting. I wish I would have because, as I learned, the client is NOT always right. The staff seemed less than thrilled to see us. The tables were only marginally cleaned. But the big problem was the food - it was surprisingly bad. I mean it almost seemed like someone was TRYING to make things taste and look bad. Luckily, there wasn't a lot of food on the buffet so weren't a lot of dishes to complain about. Service was good, family run, the buffet has all the basics. The price was cheap and I was full and happy when I left. Is it the best buffet ever, no, but they do a serviceable job and I was treated well by the staff. My friend Cindy and Dean recommended to us to go here and they were so right. Tony and his Wife always greet you with a smile and treat you like family. Everything on the buffet is always hot and tasty, along with a large selection of items that either Tony or one of the other guys will sauté it up with the right amount of seasoning. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time but the low ratings have kept me from doing so. I wish I would've just tried this place before reading the reviews. Yes, the food is not the greatest but for the price it is a great deal! It is Americanized Chinese food because we are in America. They have enough selection of dishes to choose from, a live cooking station to let you customize the chow mein to your own liking. Not sure what those people are expecting for less than $10 buffet but you won't even be able to create a single dish for less than $10. The food is always fresh and hot and a wide selection (I love the peppered chicken!). As long as it has bathrooms that my wife can use I am very satisfied with that feature. I like to go to Noodles. And get my beer from County Market. Given the price, this buffet is extremely disappointing. I went their during normal dinner hours and the food was simply not good. All the chicken dishes were soggy and everything else was dry or cold. And the fried rice is literally yellow rice with no Asian flavor or style to it whatsoever. We go there quite a bit, cause it's a place to grab a quick meal with the buffet. Fried rice needs much improvement, not much flavor. My favorite is the peanut butter chicken, lunch time only. They say they don't use MSG, and that is important to us. The other thing I suggest is that it's time for a renovation. Tables are slanted, benches are falling apart.
