YAY! Its my local grocery. Very average cleanliness and selection-- however really no complaints from me either. I live close by so in nice weather I like to walk over to shop. There are a few other great stores located in the same shopping center: Ace Hardware, Target, Chase Bank which I also frequent-- so it is nice to get everything done in one stop. Traffic from Sheridan can be slow -- so plan your trips. read more

I've seen it before the renovations. I've also seen it after. The verdict is that it's fine and better than it was, and I will do my shopping there since I live so close by. It's inevitable. I will choose convenience. Each time I've been there, it's been fine. The employees I've encountered have been subpar. For example, today when I walked in to get a shopping cart (you know, the smaller ones that they have very few of), this worker was muttering negative things under her breath while pushing some off into a corner. "Why don't these people all just go home" was something I heard uttered. She was clearly pissed off. Meanwhile, there are 2 or 3 of us trying to get our hands on these carts and she certainly chose to ignore that we were following her around. Another time, when I checked out, the cashier was making strange conversation with me. He was clearly awkward. I'd rather they just not talk to me and just help me get checked out. Usually, I'll do self checkout to avoid this problem. Lastly, I've noticed on several occasions that their workers squat outside and smoke up cigarettes like chimneys, and meanwhile, I've got to pass them up and breathe that crap as I walk in to give them business. This store is hit or miss. Sometimes I go there and they have the best fresh bread and sometimes I come home, cut open a bell pepper and see mold. That was a one time occurrence as the boyfriend gets peppers from here a lot and every other time, no problem. There have been a couple times they forgot to give us one of our bags. One of the times, I noticed before we got out of the store, but the other time it wasn't until we were home. We had to go back with the receipt and stand in line at customer service just to get our eggs. Luckily, the people were all really nice about it. This isn't my go to grocery store (I'm die hard Trader Joe's), the boyfriend comes here regularly though. It's only 2 minutes from our house so I do end up running here to grab a couple things from time to time. Pretty decent considering the location. read more

I've lived literally a block away from this store my whole life, and have always been a fan. If we're in need of something, I'll just run down the hill to the store, grab what I need and come back. The recent remodel has made me a bit confused as to where everything is now, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it (and they have a Starbucks now) so it's not too bad. It's much cheaper than Target next door but they sometimes don't have what I'm looking for, which is a little annoying and/or disappointing. And anything that isn't food (or sometimes name brand items) are a bit too expensive (I buy some of their health care products, like gloves or something, sometimes, but the prices have gone way up recently to the point where I don't even bother anymore), but because of convenience, sometimes it doesn't really matter. The staff is also very good as well, so overall, no complaints to report. read more

I reviewed this King Soopers previously, but somehow Yelp moved it to the one on Sheridan and 38th. here is my prior review: Everyone is super helpful at this King Soopers. I've had great customer service at the Deli, Seafood Counter, and in Produce. Yes, the folks at the actual "Customer Service" desk are a little slow.... but it beats the pants off the KS up at 38th! Great produce selection, very decent meat/seafood dept, and a very good on-site bakery. Cheeses, ethnic food selections also good. Lots of self check out - I don't think I've used a checker here in years. I'm a control freak and really dislike having someone else bag my groceries (yes, cuckoo). Parking can be a pain, as there are a lot of handicappers either cruising for a spot, or taking 10 years to park, but its a small price to pay for a decent grocery store. read more

This grocery store is horrible. They spent millions of dollars upgrading it, adding an Olive bar, and generally trying to make the store a super spiffy new store. But you can't get a shopping cart or a basket. If your thing is walking around the store, with an armful of groceries, because the store cannot afford to hire security so people don't steal shopping carts, well then this is your store. read more

My friends raised 1600 dollars to buy thanksgiving food for the Denver rescue mission. We called ahead and the manager said he was going to work with us and have everything ready. When we showed up he hadn't done anything and told us he didn't want us clearing out his shelves. We were not getting any discounts or anything. Does this make any sense??? It's a mixed bag. I've been shopping here weekly for the past 10+ years. Yes, the customers are interesting (I once had an older woman run down the aisle with her cart at full speed straight into my cart). I've had incidents in the parking lot. It's urban so I don't sweat it too much. BUT, because I am there for the groceries this is where I have to give it a scale-down. I almost want to give them four stars though just for the improvement over the past year. The employees actually acknowledge you now when you are hanging out at the deli/meat counter (In the previous years I got used to waiting a long time just to get someone to look my direction. If you are doing something else just wave or tell me you'll be with me in a second. It goes a long way). Pros: The checkers are usually friendly and some have been there for years It's close to my house It's getting better $.01 mechanical horse rides for the kids Please, for the love of God, stop clogging up the already too narrow aisles with displays. Or putting displays right in front of store shelves causing me to have to knock over about 20 boxes of Little Debbies last month when all I wanted was a box of Rice A Roni! The selection is DISMAL. With many products you get two choices. One name brand and one store brand. That is it. And they often just don't carry stuff that I need when cooking. Arugula is often out of stock. No such thing as chicken or turkey sausage. Smoked Gouda, nope. Another beef is when they put stuff outside that is not located inside. I tried to find watermelons this summer only to learn after piling my cart high with groceries that they were outside. I wheeled my cart to the door to see if I could get close enough to verify that they were out there and suddenly my wheels locked and alarms went off. Great. I got pegged as a shoplifter in the quest of trying to find the watermelon that should be located IN THE PRODUCE SECTION. Plan to bag your own stuff. 90% of the time I bag my own stuff. The other 10% of the time I wish they would step aside and let me bag my own stuff because the bagging is just not good. So, since this is my little community store I'm going to root it on and hope that it eventually can become what the King Soopers on 80th and Wads is which is a mecca of gourmet food selections, cheese paradise, and variety galore. Clean. Friendly checkers, wide aisles, people who bag and bag well, and decent carts. **11/25/15 EDIT. I can't quite go to 4 stars yet but the last several times I have been in I am greeted every single time I pass a store employee. This beats the days that I had to stand around in produce waiting for them to wrap up a conversation about last nights drama involving alcohol, gangs and fighting, so that I could ask where the watermelons are located (see what I did there?). I like this local grocery store. They have sushi made fresh and a Starbucks inside. They don't have cell service in some of the store though. Their sushi is delicious! They also have a sandwich making station. The pizza they make in the refrigerated section is delicious! It tastes like Whole Foods pizza but for not as much money. read more

I recently moved to this area and have come here a few times. They seem to keep their fresh produce fresh and keeping everything stocked. The main reason I'm writing this review is because of the customer service. I was totally lost looking for something yesterday and I saw a gentleman who had a Soopers shirt on that showed me exactly where to go. Once we walked back he had a shopping cart in front of him-- HE WAS OFF WORK. It was so nice that he even still helped a customer when he wasn't even on the clock. It gets better- I ran across him a few times as we were both doing our shopping and I noticed probably 3+ times him stepping away from his cart to organize groceries that were out of place or knocked over. Talk about going above and beyond! I wish I knew his name- this guy deserves a raise. read more

BY THE WAY: This Kings has a gas station that doesn't show up on the search feature. I can't really think of anything bad about this King Soopers (or any of its locations for that matter). Joddy, the store manager has gone above and beyond to ensure my family has a Thanksgiving meal. We had pre-ordered the Thanksgiving meal from the Edgewater location to be picked up. Our family was subsequently diagnosed with Covid. We had called the store to inform them we would not be able to pick up this order. Joddy took the time to personally call us and offered to deliver the meal to our home. That evening we had everything we needed on our doorstep for a Thanksgiving meal we had thought would never happen, thanks to Joddy. We will forever be grateful for this level of service and this selfless act of kindness!! Thank you Joddy! read more

They typically always have the items that I go in looking for, however, I've noticed that every time I go in, they are reusing the carts and baskets without sanitizing. Staff is typically wearing masks so that's good but there isn't any sanitization wipes customers could use themselves. read more

I'm just waiting for a new grocery store to open in this area already. This place is sketchy sometimes, to say the least. Heard people dealing drugs to each other one aisle over one night while I was shopping, just to give one example. It's always crowded, everywhere. It's impossible to get through aisles without people running into you and parking is a pain. This area is honestly a food desert and why this is our only convenient grocery store for edgewater and villa park is beyond me. Oh, also, they are so bad about restocking the baskets so you can shop! And the renovations were a weak attempt at gentrifying this location. Poor quality of item as well as item count incorrect. Psst 6 count chicken patties missing 2/3rds of a pattie as well as another pattie torn into pieces. I have seen some shady sales practices to shave a buck but that partial missing pattie seemed eaten off pre packaged as in they are pre fully cooked and I think they ate on it before sending it thru... pathetic no matter what. read more

Ordered my wedding flowers from this location. Called and talked to the girl a few times to make sure everything was going okay. Wedding week comes around and my flower order is no where to be found and no we are scrambling to find flowers. This was always my regular grocery store. I usually go to this location, even though there is one a few blocks closer to me..... Tonight I made a special trip as a last chore for the day before I begin my work week. I timed it so that I had almost a half hour before the deli closed, so I could get sandwich stuff. I stood at the counter for a full 3 minutes as 2 employees were mopping the deli area and did not acknowledge me. I finally said hello, can I get some sandwich meat? I was told by the assistant manager, according to his name tag....... didn't see his actual name, "They were short staffed and had closed early" I was irritated and said fine..... I can get packaged sandwich meat for a fraction of the price anyway....... So, he says... "well, what did you want?" Nope.... forget it ..... don't want your mop water hands cutting my food...... Before I left the store I was going to notify the store manager on duty of the situation.... Stood in line, as the 2nd customer for at least 5 minutes...... forgot it. I have stuff to do. To understand how I could possibly give this shitty little King Soops a 3 star rating, you would've had to have seen it prior to the recent renovations. Finally, things that you probably assumed came standard at King Soopers stores (cheese dept, Starbucks, sushi counter, etc) have been crammed into the chain's Edgewater location. Prices are still high and employees are still incompetent, but the overall selection and appearance of the store have improved. read more

Today I left $40 in the cash box on one of the self check out kiosks. I remembered this once I was home, so I called the store and with no luck, the cash was gone. After telling my GF, she stopped by the store and spoke to Jesus the manager. He was such a big help, he reimbursed the $40 after viewing my receipt and determined that the cash dispenser was not working correctly. This store has my business from here on out. read more

The inventory sucks, the staff sucks. This location just sucks. I don't know how King Soopers can vary so widely in who they hire and what they stock, but it seems like whoever runs the company just decided to let this one descend into grocery store anarchy. This King's is pretty good. it stays clean and there is a 1st bank inside. I've seen some weird things go down here though. fights at the self-checkout, purse-snachers in the parking lot. This area isn't what it used to be. I use king's to buy shit tickets and dishsoap and food items u can't find at sunflower. read more

The employees at the store are wonderful. They're always extremely helpful and friendly. But, as others have said, it's a mad house and not a great shopping experience. The self check outs are terrible - mainly because they don't update prices for sale items, so to save the $1 you thought you were going to save, you have to make a big fuss. And they have things mislabeled. I've had to have both cheese and soda checked by an attendant because they were "restricted" items. Oh - and there's no olive bar :( But it's close by and, again, the employees are really nice, so you end up smiling on your way out even if you've grimaced through your shopping experience. read more

Great store really friendly employees and I get everything I need

Well, I still love the cheap bread (kalamata loaves keep popping up on that back rack, which are the BEST!) and the convenient Redbox rentals, but I've grown tired of coming here just to get frustrated over the crappy produce and higher prices. Every time I pick up a cucumber, I ask myself why am I paying a buck when a bigger, fresher one at SFM is just 50 cents? Why are their bell peppers $2 or more and 2-for-1 at SFM? Same with all of my staples like garlic, limes, lemons, tomatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, apples, potatoes, avocadoes...everything is double the price and usually poorer quality. Even when on sale, the prices can't touch my old neighborhood favorite so I'm going to have to buck up and get over the close proximity of this store and get SFM back in my weekly rotation if I want any fresh fruit or veggies in the future without breaking the bank. The last straw was the carton of eggs I picked up last week. While the cheapest eggs at SFM have always done me right, apparently that's not true of the 99-cent carton here because they fried up funny, tasted off and neither my husband nor I finished them at breakfast. It was almost enough to make me consider finally going organic. read more

Today I came to use the bathroom at your store and I have to say your employees are not nice or helpful ! I have a broken leg and asked for the motor chairs and 3 differnt people said they don't know where to get them and walked off the 4th lady completely ignored me ! Well I used my crutches to get to the bathroom! It was hard I am weak and can't hold my own weight with one leg so it hurts my right foot very much causing me to take short breaks every couple steps! Well some king soopers employee said excuse me can you move ! It made me feel like shit! I didn't break my ankle on purpose so I don't like being treated like I did it on purpose! Once I got out of the bathroom my crutch slipped n I fell ! I was in obvious site of employees and customers . The only person that helped me was some lady sitting at Starbucks minding her business! I was so thankful she helped me get up on a chair! I wouldn't of been able to by my self! I am very disappointed in this store I used to this in this area as a kid and I remember everyone was so nice well I guess now a days people are only nice to kids instead of adults to \= that's dumb and I hope the manager of this store or owner of the store fixes it up! I was at the deli counter ordering a quarter pound of American Cheese, an employee came into the area holding some meats, starting yelling at another employee, threw the meat, then the other two employees start yelling, someone grabs the thrown meat and starts slicing it for a customer, the guy waiting on me was the one being yelled at, asked me twice what kind of cheese I wanted, AMERICAN....I said two times to these people, "none of us want to hear this", no one acknowledged me, made eye contact, or apologized for their behavior. In the end, when I got home and unloaded the groceries, I had been given a quarter pound of Swiss cheese. I hate Swiss cheese. I called the store and was given to a manager, I started to explain that I was at the deli counter that afternoon, and without even letting me finish he said that he was aware of the situation and it had been sent to the union reps or some such thing, and when I asked how that made me whole he went on and on, talking over me, and telling me about all their staffing problems. Then he said, next time I am in they will replace the cheese. I know they have a delivery service, would it have been so hard to actually listen to what I had to say about my experience and just offer to send some cheese to my house? So now I can never go to the Edgewater CO King Soopers, and I wouldn't go if I were you either, especially if you hate Swiss cheese as much as I do. read more

The pharmacy is awful. I transferred over from Walgreens due to an insurance change and have had the worst experience. Every time I attempt to fill a prescription something goes wrong and I end up having to wait for my prescription to be filled. The manger, Angela, is not sympathetic nor is she genuinely apologetic. I get the impression that customer satisfaction is not their biggest concern. read more
