I came in late tonight, which I already felt terrible for, but I needed to do a return because I have a job interview tomorrow and no clean laundry, so I needed the money for the laundromat. I know, it isn't other people's problem, but the least the manager could have done was let me ask the full question instead of cutting me off rudely to tell me that she wouldn't do the return. With very emphasized head shakes, crossed arms, and a scowl, she interrupted me. Even the security guard apologized to me because she was so rude and I walked out almost crying because I'm going to be screwed for this job because I'm doing the interview in dirty clothes. She was a heavier set lady, with sort of short blonde hair, and I will be returning to the store tomorrow to get her name because I felt very disrespected by the way she handled the situation. If she had waited for me to finish speaking, and politely declined, I wouldn't be leaving a review, but she literally cut me off, and didnt say a single other word than "no." Not even the common courtesy of saying "sorry for the inconvenience" or even just "have a good night." The only redemption the store got was that the security officer saw me immediately walk back out and asked "no?" Then said "sorry" when I shook my head. read more

They have started a new policy where they check receipts, but they only hired one person to do it, so there's a line backed out the door just to leave with the groceries you already paid for. I went there today at 4:45pm to get the 5 drumsticks for $5 deal. Plenty of legs in the case but the lady who worked there said they did not have the 5 for 5 deal. I pointed out the sign and the fact there were several legs in the case. She said " I don't have any more to cook, these are $1.49 each." And she was not nice about it. Ordered a special cake for my son's 16th birthday, got there to pick it up and apparently the cake decorator decided to leave for the day without fulfilling my order. I do most of my weekly grocery shopping here and I am always able to find what I need. I also recently picked up a prescription here. Despite being short staffed, they were able to fill my med same day. They really surpassed my expectations by letting me pick it up when I arrived right at closing - 8pm. I was going out of town the next day and really needed that medication. I am so grateful and appreciative to the pharmacy staff and all their hard work!! read more

this is one of the most unprofessional KS stores I've had to deal with I was told they were hiring and needed cashiers as I live in the area, I came in multiple times and I was constantly told the hiring manager was either on vacation or just not in, and after 2 weeks of constantly putting in efforts the denied my application and hired my son. I have more than enough experience and always came in with a smile and a great attitude but I was still denied and I called still to even see if it was an accident and I was still unable to reach them. as an African American male with a Latino son I believe this store is flat out prejudice when it comes to there hiring. if you are black go somewhere if you need a job because there are probably one to two black people in that store and the rest are either white or Mexican. this is absolutely ridiculous and the fact that the people do NOT follow up and they give you the nastiest attitudes when you call to follow up. This King Soopers is often filled with workers sitting around while customers file through the self check out line with long waits. I understand that times are tough right now, but I've never seen so many workers sitting around on their phones/socializing/doing the bare minimum while the store looks messy, unorganized, and chaotic. I arrived in Denver and left ALL my prescriptions!!!! My daughter brought me to King Soopers in Edgewater (Kroger) to get a vacation pack. Stephanie was very kind and patient in explaining that I may have to pay for them because sometimes the insurance will not cover them. I need 13 days. Unfortunately, the insurance did not pay. Two of the medications did not have a refill on them. Stephanie asked the Pharmacist if I could have a three day courtesy until I can call my doctor. Stephanie was outstanding, excellent, and Awesome. She even told me about a key chain for medical in case I forget them again. Ten stars. read more

Saw 2 "security" employees call the cops and make a scene about a homeless man stealing 3 fucking peppers. No one ever pays attention to self checkout, so if that light goes off just go to another checkout and don't wait for the employee(s) who wont help. Their pharmacy will leave several voicemails and texts about meds being ready but i have to wait literally every single time for them to actually be filled, if they even have the meds in stock. Colfax x sheridan is also just one of the worst places in the city so be prepared for that exciting crowd. The locations on chestnut and also santa fe are infinitely better - totally worth the extra 30 minute+ walk when i can. read more

I'm with Janeen's review of this location. The Soopers by my house further down Sheridan is awesome. This is a good spot too but for some reason the layout and staff throw me off. Parking isn't too bad. Generally go in by the Soopers gas or just drive in by Target. Lots of Geese in the parking lot and generally panhandlers but once you're inside it's like any other location. I will say this store feels bigger than others. Maybe it's just the store layout. Huge natural or organic section. Large deli section with loads of meats, fresh sushi, bakery and grab and go items. Reminds me a bit of the Dillon King Soopers/Market but the layout is off. It's not the normal layout with more selection but some of the walls and end caps are organized oddly. Sounds so trivial to point out but I can't put a finger on the issue specifically. Things are just odd at this location. Has all your essentials. Produce is generally good but poorer selection and quality than other similar area King Soopers. If you live in the highlands or Lakewood I'm sure you come to this location. Or maybe you just go to Walmart or the adjacent Target. Been here a handful of times and it's never the King Soopers product I've come to know and love all over Colorado. Must be me. read more

Do not eat any produce here without washing & sanitizing it. 1/2/22 I witnessed a man stocking raspberries while not wearing a mask and in between almost every other one he was wiping HIS SNOTTY NOSE with is bare hand and then went back to stocking!!!!!! He did it at least 3 times in the short 30 seconds I was near self checkout. Also, much more expensive than Wholefoods, Walmart, or Sprouts. 7 dollars a pound for regular ground beef (not organic), 8 dollar paprika. Not sure what I'm paying for. My local King Soopers! So, I think King Soopers is hands down better than Safeway (and that's saying something considering I worked at Safeway in high school!). This specific location I frequented before and after the recent remodel, and I can say that the remodeling made a huge difference. The selection is always great, hardly ever out of stock on items I need. The addition of the Starbucks makes my heart skip a beat, and the sandwich shop and deli is much more user friendly! The staff at this location are also super friendly and always willing to help. The parking is probably my only issue- since this location always has a busy lot! But if you get there early, you can usually score a good parking situation! Overall, I am pleased with my local Kings! read more

This King Soopers on 17th & Sheridan is the gettto of all King Soopers. There always out of stock on quit a bit of things, the cleanliness is very poor and there always paging someone or department on the intercome which makes it difficult to focus on you grocery list. One day I could not find a buggy and I happen to see the Manager (John) I then told him that there were no buggies and his response was "I know! there all being used" for being a manager I would expected at least an apology. I've seen it before the renovations. I've also seen it after. The verdict is that it's fine and better than it was, and I will do my shopping there since I live so close by. It's inevitable. I will choose convenience. Each time I've been there, it's been fine. The employees I've encountered have been subpar. For example, today when I walked in to get a shopping cart (you know, the smaller ones that they have very few of), this worker was muttering negative things under her breath while pushing some off into a corner. "Why don't these people all just go home" was something I heard uttered. She was clearly pissed off. Meanwhile, there are 2 or 3 of us trying to get our hands on these carts and she certainly chose to ignore that we were following her around. Another time, when I checked out, the cashier was making strange conversation with me. He was clearly awkward. I'd rather they just not talk to me and just help me get checked out. Usually, I'll do self checkout to avoid this problem. Lastly, I've noticed on several occasions that their workers squat outside and smoke up cigarettes like chimneys, and meanwhile, I've got to pass them up and breathe that crap as I walk in to give them business. Like I said, I'll choose convenience and I will go to this store regardless. But I will not be happy about it. read more

This King Soopers is so annoying to my life. It's the closest one to my house, so I'm ALWAYS there, but I really, really don't like it. What I don't like: -There are no arrows in the parking lot, so people drive the wrong direction EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm there- they aren't smart enough to look with their eyes and see which direction the cars are parked. -It is ALWAYS crowded. There is no off-time to do your shopping away from other people. -A woman once accosted me with a picture of her dead child and asked me for money to pay for the funeral. -I went here to buy sausage for thanksgiving and they were out of ALL SAUSAGE. No rolls, no patties, no fully cooked, no links, NOTHING. -I once saw a guy hanging out on the patio furniture they sell in the store like it was his house. He was there the whole time we were shopping. He should have put some burgers on their display grill. -The bakery section is ALWAYS empty. There are always 2 sad, stale donuts and one half eaten bagel. -A cashier wouldn't let me use my husband's debit card because we don't have the same last name- and of course I knew the pin. -The people who shop[lift] here think it's socially acceptable to "holla" at you from their cars as they cruise the parking lot. etc. It takes me 3 minutes to drive here and they usually have what I need, so I go. I lived right behind this Kings for years, and I have to admit that I almost never went inside. It's always crowded, always a mad house, and the parking lot is a hot mess. But.....today I had to go in there looking for the obscure tamarind paste. I was SHOCKED to see there was an entire aisle devoted to Hispanic foods! Most groceries have maybe half an aisle. This store has a whole aisle! That's awesome, and it serves as proof that Kings looks at the demographics of the neighborhoods/barrios their stores are in when determining what goods to carry. They didn't have my tamarind paste, but they did everything they could to try to find it for me, and they were very helpful. read more
