A security guard is stationed at the entrance as well as a metal swinging gate that says "Welcome" by the Guest Service desk. I am not used to that kind of barrier at a King Soopers so I ended up walking all the way down to the pharmacy to get into the store. Shelves were full and I had to search a bit for the item I needed since items were placed by size and not brand. From the moment you walked in, it smells like rotting fish, and rotting meat. Fruit flies around produce. This place is trashed. You walk around trash in all the aisles, the people stocking, the shelves are blocking the aisles and then acting put out because you are trying to get by in one of the electronic disability carts. read more

Every KS I have ever been in has been a pleasure in which to shop. The stores are clean and well organized and there is always enough staff to help me if help is needed. Now, I feel uncomfortable shopping because a security guard with a taser and handcuffs checks receipts at the door, slowing down the exit and making customers feel more like suspects than shoppers. It seems the real issue is not hiring enough staff to handle customer service and store operations. Instead of focusing on quality products and a welcoming atmosphere, management is leaning on heavy security presence. King Soopers hits home for me and I've always had a great shopping experience there. They usually have good discounts on food and snacks and the quality of the items are pretty good as well. You aren't paying a ridiculous amount for a pack of steak and you also are not getting cheaped out on the quality either. The deli section is my favorite and I try to restrain myself from going there every time I step foot into a King Soopers. There's no reason why King Soopers would get anything lower than a 4 because you really can't beat the service and quality of the items. I have never had an issue there and so my 5 stars is wondrously fitting. Being a lifelong resident here in Colorado I always prefer to shop at King Soopers over Walmart or Target. Staff is nice, produce is usually pretty nice and the low prices and gas rewards are a great bonus. Only complaint is I wish they would keep the Crab Cakes and Stuffed Clams in stock more. I have filled the surveys numerous times. No change in service. They choose to stock shelves during PEAK shopping hours blocking the aisles with pallets and boxes. It is hard to get the items we are trying to get when their stocking carts are in the way. Baggers are very slow if they are available at all. Normally have to bag our own groceries. read more

I dropped by on a weekday in the morning. This King Soopers had everything I expected them to have. It also had excellent customer service. Multiple staff members asked if they could help me find anything. Multiple checkers were standing in from of the check-out lanes offering to finalize my transactions. This is how I remember KS to be, and much nicer service than I typically get. Prices were KS reasonable (good sales, okay every day pricing). read more

Tonight I went in the store to do some shopping before going home. When driving into the parking lot to park my car, an employee was "riding" (standing on the rear of the cart rather than walking/pushing it) some grocery carts across the lane I was driving in. He "darted" across my lane. If I was driving quickly/fast there would've been an accident. He didn't take into account that there were some vehicles that were blocking my vision when he "darted across my lane." I questioned him about his actions asking, "Do you think that was safe, what you just did?" His response in a curt and sarcastic tone was, "No but pedestrians do have the right of way." Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful response! Very poor customer service! When I asked for his name he pointed to his name tag and said to me (in another curt and sarcastic tone of voice), "There ya go." I spoke to a supervisor at the store about this who listened and was professional about it. I could sense that this supervisor was embarrassed about the employee's actions and behavior. After speaking to the supervisor, I browsed a little then left the store due to this incident. I was upset!I've been in this store several times and have never been treated the way I was by any employees of the store. I absolutely won't be returning to this store. I'm also curious if my complaint was followed up by the supervisor or if management has been made aware. My feeling is that management won't be happy to hear about this. Please provide better customer service training to employees and safety skills or training when collecting grocery carts in the parking lot, especially at dusk. read more

If I had a choice (no vehicle) I would never set foot in this store. Twice recently, the chatty cashier hasn't given me my cash back from card. Do I get an apology when I notice it? Of course not. The woman who works customer service during weekdays is incredibly rude. I've even had an employee comment on this when she told me to get a rain check on a sale item. I told her I'd rather get beaten than deal with that cretin. (In spite of how I sound in this review, I am an upbeat, pleasant person, lol) I frequently see expired items on shelves. When I saw a bunch of these in the bread section (some 2 weeks past date), I gave a heads up to a stocking guy in the bread section. Response: "Where are they?" I told him he needed to look through all of it because I could have missed a lot. Did I get a thank you? Of course not. I also bought a McCormick lemon dill fish sauce about 4 months ago that expired in Jan of 2018. It was in a smaller, end of aisle grouping. Does anybody ever check this stuff? Produce is awful. I went to buy some cilantro last month, and as all cilantro lovers know, when this starts to go bad, it stinks. Luckily, I smelled the bag I was about to buy and it already had a rancid odor. They have recently remodeled this store. It's still on the smaller side for a King Soopers grocery store and can get extremely crowded during typical rush grocery shopping hours ( after work, weekend, before big sporting games, ect). The prices are just as good as their competitor's, if not better. One stop grocery shopping at it's best. read more

I have made several grocery pickup at this location with some good and some not so good, but the last pick up I made three days ago was pretty disappointing. In my order I selected two types of bagged pears, reds and bartletts. Both bags were nothing but rotten pears in them. I had also ordered a stock of celery. The celery I received looked like someone just tore off some stems and threw them in a bag. I of course did not discover the sad looking fruit and veggies until I got home and started unpacking my pickup order. I was pretty discussed with my order and quickly filled out the grocery survey which is sent after you receive an order or pick one up. I expressed my displeasure with my order with several dissatisfied comments. You would think someone from the store would respond to the comments, but nope. I called customer service the next day and wanted those items removed from my bill and even offered to bring the rotten produce back to the store and was told to just throw them away and that I would be getting credit for the bad items. I did not want to be charged for rotten items I received but was told I would just get credit on my next purchase. Well I called again the next day and spoke to a very rude customer service rep who eventually hung up on me. I am done with pickup orders from that lousy location. Looks, its a smaller store and sure, it doesnt have the big cheese stand or olive bar or deli like some of the others, but it has great people! I love to get Christine or Holly when I'm checking out! Florence at the customer service desk is always fast, efficient and friendly! However, even though I dont know everyone by name, I have never had a bad encounter with any employee! Ever! Horrible service. A bagger had an attitude towards me during my check. No exaggeration he punctured my cucumber with his fingers. He was holding onto the cucumber for a while as he bagged other food items and I wondered what he was doing. I got home and looked at the cucumber and he dug his thumb in one side and side of his pointer finger on the other side. It's not the worst store, but they are working on it. The self shopper devices don't ever work anymore & no one seems to know why or how to help you. The 1 guy who is supposed to be the go to doesn't even know how to fix them. So with NO explanation or help you are forced to shop & stand in the long lines so the super unfriendly checker can check you out while you bag your own groceries. They seem to ALWAYS be out of organic products as well. People are leaning towards organic more & more, so why not stock what we want? I've been shopping there for 13 yrs & have seen alot of the same faces yet they will look at you like it's the 1st time you've walked into the store. Really has that neighborhood feel, right? The store is not kept very clean & I've watched employees walk over trash that is on the floor instead of picking it up. Employees stand in front of the store taking their smoke breaks, so we get to walk right through their second hand smoke, thank you. When it comes to grocery shopping it is a total lack of options and it has to be done regardless and I always go to the same place. As a whole this particular King Soopers does have friendly cashiers and a pretty efficient checkout process. The produce is always fresh, meat and proteins always good so I have no reason to go anywhere else. In addition there is a decent selection of gourmet cheeses here which is nice to see at a neighborhood store, not having to go to a specialty market to get those nice items. read more

Explained to the self check clerk that the vitamins I was purchasing were bogo and the second one wasn't coming up as free. When I tried to void them, the wrong item was voided. Since it took her 10 minutes to help me (she wasn't at her station nor was she helping another customer), I assume she was too busy to listen, because she voided the entire transaction, told me to rescan all my items and walked away (once again not to her station or to assist another customer). This review is for the bakery at this king soopers location. I work in different locations and love checking out bakery stuff but always practice refrain in choosing my snacks before work. I immediately decided the opposite when I suddenly walked into a boutique donut shop inside some rand-o king soopers..? Kudos to the creativity I loved my cinnamon streusel topped glazed donut and butterfinger donut also. Yum!! There were lots of other fun toppings, bacon and different cereals, glazed crescents for good measure...really felt like a step up from the normal king soopers or general grocery store bakery experience..enough so to get my super broke ass to happily buy two donuts. I have been shopping at this store for over 10 years and in the last year it has gone down hill.I recently took back crab legs because they were old and spoiled. Bought valentine flowers and when I got I home and unwrapped them they were full of mold. The produce is not fresh and over priced. King Sooper's is a rare trip for me because the one by my house is disgusting, but since it is close to the house and I was only buying doughnuts for the office, I decide to go there. I spent 15 minutes picking out 2 dozen doughnuts, 10 minutes standing in line to check out, a quick couple buttons pushed by the cashier, a total, a quick slide of my debit/credit card and I ask "which one for credit" while it ask me for my PIN just as any other store does. But this time she proceeds to tell me the "rules" have changed since Feb 28th (yes she gave me an exact date)...and that I cannot finish my transaction without putting my PIN. For 20 plus years of having a debit/credit card I have never wanted to know my PIN and I have never had to use it (though I know I have one tucked away in my files because you have to if you wish to use it at an ATM)...I don't use ATMs, I don't carry cash...I just use my CARD for pretty much everything! A waste of time and though they could care less about my measly 15 bucks for doughnuts, i'm sure i'm not the only one. read more

This would have been a one star review. My wife place an order with quick list. There were significant problems when we picked up our order. Called the manager on duty on 6/3 to explain the problems with our order. The girl on the phone was pleasant enough, took down all of the information I provided about inacurracies in our order and told me I would get a call from management on Monday 6/4. I called on 6/4 PM to inquire about status. It took 3 phone calls and 30 minutes of my time to finally get the manager on the phone. She apologized for the time it took to get back to me, and told me she would have everything taken care of by Tuesday 6/5. I received no call on 6/5. Am of 6/6 I called and asked to speak to a manager. Manager on duty was DJ. DJ is awesome. He apologized for the time that I had waited. He told me I would be getting a call from quick list within a hour. In less than30 minutes Rhonda called me back. She was apologetic, took all of my information, and told me to come by before 3:00 to remedy my problem. By 3:00 all of my problems were fixed. DJ and Rhonda are exemplary employees. Very valuable. Very hard to find. I will continue with quick list because of these 2 people. Good employees are very hard to find. You have 2 great people. I know things go wrong. It is people like these,that go above and beyond to make sure your customers are happy and returning customers. Take care of these people. They deserve it. They just saved you a customer. read more
