The catfish tastes like it's on a menstrual cycle. Terrible service, does not honor loyal customers or replace bad/old fish.

The food was good. Fish and shrimp were seasoned very well. The bread was super hard though! They also give you just enough sauce to be partially satisfied. The service was great. Lady was nice. It's in be hood so don't expect great ambiance. All in all I would go back

For beginners it's over priced for what you receive in food portion and service . I ordered the fillet sole with shrimp & Tilapia with greens mac and cheese and fry's The sole shrimp and Tilapia taste like it was fried in the same grease as the chicken disgusting, fish was fairly fresh sides were small portions i mean even the hot sauce was skimp , however the greens were pretty good , the older man behind the counter rushed me to place my order i found that rude once ordered i received a buzzer and chose to wait in my car the ambiance was a bit ran down for my preference overall i won't eat there again and wouldn't recommend .

I've been going to this place over the years, and with Covid impacting businesses negatively this year, I was worried they'd closed down or something. Good news is that they remain open, and with outside seating and all, it's actually nice change. We tried several dishes (see photo) and they were all good. Food was served timely and at right temps, tasted fresh, and good presentation. We also had appetizers and those were good too. Service rated at 4 stars because of some missed request, but overall good. Covid hygiene protocols were highlighted, and observed. I continue to recommend this place.

Horrible don't waist your time. They make 1 shrimp into two so they don't give you a whole shrimp. They cut the fish in small sized too.(this was supposed to be catfish). We will not go here again.

Fish was well seasoned, thick, and moist. Service was polite and professional. Sides are meh, and fries are really good.

Salt, I remembered coming to H Salt as a kid, so I had to stop and grab some food for my mom as well. When I pulled into the parking lot, I quickly realized it's more of a one-way driveway setup. I almost ended up in an argument with another driver who was blocking the path and nearly backed into me. I'd honestly recommend finding street parking or parking nearby if possible. Once inside, there were quite a few customers. The atmosphere felt very old-school and slower paced, with more of an older crowd. The girl taking the order was very friendly, which I appreciated. I ordered the Three P's fish and chips, jumbo shrimp, and a large coleslaw. After taking it home, I thought the fish tasted light and fresh, and the fries were pretty good too. Overall, I thought it was decent. My mom, however, felt the food was a little soggy and could've been cooked a bit longer. She also mentioned the batter on the fish had a slightly sweet taste, almost like a donut or cake batter rather than a traditional fish batter. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily go far out of my way for it, but if you're already in the area, I'd say it's worth trying at least once.

With the no flavor I thought I had COVID or the flu because my sense of taste was gone. But I drank my bottled coke and realized it was the food. Sad because this is an oldie but goodie. But if they cannot afford the right oil they should just close instead of prolonging the end. I'm sure everyone tastes it and the deception to the customers will end their reign in great fried fish and other seafood items!!! And the tables were disgusting. No one tended to the dining area. Customers asked for a wipe down and were met with an employee looking at them crossed eyed. Or like they were just asked for money from their register. The towel they used made things worse. The smell... ??? They should just close

I had plenty of questions. I knew I wanted oysters. I got the oyster combo. Combo comes with two sides and bread/dinner roll. I opted for double hush puppies as my two sides. I also wanted fish, but didn't want to buy a whole dinner. The cashier told me I could get a single piece of fish. I believe it was $2.50 per piece. I love filet sole. It's thin and I like it crispy! The oysters were not big, but came with a lot of smaller pieces. I like the bigger oysters so I could taste more oyster than breading, but this did the trick as well! Smaller pieces, but more pieces! I love hush puppies! These were more crispy on the outside! When my order was ready, I asked for extra tartar and hot sauce. She gave me one and one little cup each. When I opened the bag, to my surprise there was a set of sauces in the dinner and for my single piece of fish! I'm so happy that I got so much tartar and hot sauce! I'm a dunker! The tartar sauce was more herby, like a ranch and not creamy like mayo. But still delicious! Especially when you mix it with hot sauce! This place is a small fish market, no tables. Just a few seats to wait for your food.

Greens & Black eyed peas (this time) I had not stepped foot inside this hidden gem until yesterday. But when I did...my nose was violently assaulted the the aroma of someone's "Big Momma's or Grandfather's" kitchen. The cozy, warm, aromatic atmosphere engulfed us like a warm quilt, as we walked in from the rain. The gentleman we passed outside by the door walked in behind us and welcomed us as if we were expected for Sunday dinner at Big Momma's House! No, that is NOT the name of this magical kitchen, but maybe it... No, it is even appropriately named. I dont know what the "R" stands for, maybe its a play on the Southern dialect, for "Our?" or does it stand for someone's name? I'm sure the meaning of the "R" has everything to do with why the meal I have become so overwhelmingly familiar with is so consistently "Smack a Momma" good. Now, I'm not a professional food critic. But, I know my way around a few pots and skillets. I'm just an average Kentucky-raised, over-60, consistently looking for a good meal when I get hungry, don't feel like cooking or understands when my wife doesn't feel like cooking either, type of guy. Being country bred, from country folk, from a 1 traffic light, 1 cop car, outhouses still on the side or back of the houses; everyone knows everyone kinda town. I don't look for a Michelin Star restaurants, I just want a good cooked meal. Food that has been kissed by the ancestors of whoever goes outta their way to put their creations out to the public with no shame in their game or plates. My wife actually turned me on to "R-Kitchen"- in Lakewood. Her and her friends were out a while ago and called me at home asking if I wanted to try this kitchen's cooking. After 5 wife deliveres plates (all the smothered turkey wings) throughout several months, I finally experienced the personal down-home touch and smells of Lakewood's R-Kitchen. I've promised myself to explore the entire menu by ordering something different on each visit going forward. So, stay tuned, as I work off my last meal to make room for the next. In the meantime, drop by this gem of a kitchen and don't leave without grabbing a slice of that Lemon Cake!!!! ssshhhh!... someone told me they have a Gumbo Day!!!!
