The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Surrounded by some of the most glamorously dressed Bukharian Jewish ladies in all of the tri state areas combined, the food of course had to be as equally fabulous and so it was! Was not here for their usual a la carte menu but still I think everything usually on their menu came out! And this preggo chick was very happy to oblige to sit and eat everything. Appetizer course alone was 2 hours long. Everything from smoked fishes to a crazy variety of salads, to sushi, to pickles, olives and pickled veggies, to meat pelmenis, skewers of grilled meats, Prime rib, to endless desserts....and I mean endless.... Let's get it straight. This is not a walk-in type of restaurant. However, it is good for hosting events. I was invited to the birthday celebration of about 80 people by one of my friends and I must say that the service was great. The food was tasty and it kept coming. The band was amazing and overall we had fun. There is a dance floor to shake off the dinner as well. The only thing is that the restaurant is too far from the city. read more

Ever since I went to a luncheon here, several years ago, I have wanted to host a party at the King David. My daughter and future son in law gave me that opportunity, when we decided to have an engagement party there! The wedding will be in Israel later in the winter and not everyone from the USA will be going so it was important to have an affair with the importance to detail of a wedding, but the more light hearted feel of a celebration. The idea was to have an open house, cocktail party feel for 200 people. Also, certain of our guests had medical dietary restrictions! Nadia Cohen and crew far exceeded our expectations ( and the bride is an events planner)! Celebrated my sons Brit when he was born and this year his 3 rd birthday in the same place. Love this place. Nadia the manager provided me with buffet style menu Chinese and salad bar for the kids event. I was worried it wouldn't be enough but they provided so much refills. My favorite place to go whenever I am in NY EVER. Whenever I have a date, and she lives near here and we go here, there is only one word to describe how she feels: impressed. This place is a gorgeous banquet hall, but when there's no party, the hall is used for anyone who wants to come in and eat some delicious food. There is a small sushi restaurant area in the basement, which is amazingly gorgeous and the sushi is the best kosher sushi I ever had in my life, wow. The music was great. Better than any night club. I've been to a lot of restaurants in queens that cater to the Russian Jewish community, but my Go-To restaurant is definitely King David! There food is amazing and the amount of service you receive from the friendly staff makes you feel at home. I've worked with Arthur and Nadia and unlike most catering halls, they were there for every step of my event (Small Bat Mitzvah which in my family means only 175 people, lol). Whatever was discussed was provided, plus exceptional entertainment which was included in the price. I'm glad to have options, but King David is my first choice for all my party needs. read more

I had my son's bris it left a sour taste in my mouth. The only good thing at the restaurant was the sushi, everything else was subpar or disgusting. They didn't tell us that they booked two parties in one day so they were rushed us two hours in advance. We signed up for party from 12 to 5 but s 3 o'clock our tables were already cleared. The manager is a total b**** , she kept clearing the table I kept going to the owner and telling him that we had to 5 o'clock. Needless to say that they cleared out my guests by 4. The owner thinks he's being slick and clever by having the manager do his dirty work and then he blames her. We would never go there again or have any type of event. Half of my guests myself included left the restaurant with an upset stomach I was throwing up for 24 hours after I left the restaurant. All I can say you get what you pay for and be aware that you will not have a happy event at and after this place. read more

Me and my boyfriend had the exact same experience as one of the other posters. We walked in and were made aware that we did not belong by rude looks. It was deliberate shunning. We live very close by and would love to have a nice welcoming restaurant near us. If that is what you are looking for, do not go to King David. This was truly the most beautiful, elegant, detail oriented decoration ever seen by all my guests. I have nothing but stellar things to say about King David and its next door sushi bar. The owner arranged for three special rolls to come to our table, one of which was an amazing tempura roll, the others had lightly broiled salmon skin. The presentation was stupendous, with sweet sauce and spicy mayo, diced mango and pineapple, and the rolls were delectable. The hot sake that accompanied the rolls was smooth and had great body. The waitress was most accommodating, and service was spot-on, with attention to detail. The beef negimaki was made from rib eye steak, and was juicy and delectable, followed by a crispy orange chicken dish with a delectable sweet sauce and orange zest. The flavors were spot-on, the prices were very reasonable, and the restaurant itself was absolutely gorgeous. I look forward to coming back very soon. read more

Last night we have greeted new 2017 year at this restaurant and I had to share my experience. It was a masquerade ball which I will never forget. The decor was very beautiful, it was colorful with a lot of detail and thought. I had around 50 people attending and I was very worried but when I got there my hear was at ease. The tables were full of variety of different salads and appetizers. Everything was on point and organized, seats were as were on the floor plan. Nadya the manager was very helpful and accommodating through out the entire process. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. There was at least 7 different entries. Service was great all waiters and waitresses were very friendly and very accommodating. Music was to die for. Everyone had an amazing time, everyone was dancing non stop. We greeted new years as one family. The musicians were all absolutely amazing and kept crowd on their feet all night. Overall experience was amazing and definitely will come back to this place again and again. read more
