Our waiter was a young man, seemed fairly new, but was very attentive. He got my Arnold Palmer and my daughter's oyster appetizer order wrong, but he was a trooper and made sure we were good for the rest of our meal I got the Rangoon appetizer and the king crab/shrimp. Came to King Crab House for a late gathering and had a great experience. As we arrive, the staff were quick to find us a table with drinks and menus. There were a nice selection of seafood and Cajun dishes at super affordable prices compared to other seafood restaurants. Because it was late, we only had there fried oysters and chicken wings. The fried oysters were nicely battered, crispy and very tasty. The wings, Cajun and lemon pepper style were on steroids. They were humongous size wings that were seasoned nicely and very crispy, perfectly made for my taste. We left being very satisfied and extremely happy. Ordered the shrimp boil. It was TERRIBLE. It was dry and just nasty. I was only able to eat one shrimp and one piece of sausage before asking for the check. If you like Chinese Fried Buffet items, the King Crab House you will like. For me and my Office Manager, we were extremely disappointed. The Lunch Menu was 85% oriental or Vietnamese dishes. (Eggrolls, Pho, Fried Rice, etc.....). I wanted the Fried Catfish PoBoy but a $13 PoBoy was out of the question when their Fried Baskets with 2 choices were $12. Didn't make sense. I had the Fried Calamari and Fried Catfish with Fries. Never have I ever had Calamari so huge as Onion Rings and when bit into on each of them a very thing membrane came out each time. I suspect the cartilage was never removed when they cut it up. The fried Catfish was over fried. The texture was exactly as getting fried fish and fried shrimp from a Chinese Buffet. This place was terrible- the food was so bland. My parents ordered 2 pounds of medium with house sauce and they got like 10 shrimp and it was flavorless. We also ordered the oysters, shrimp and crab and all of it was just as bland. Service was super slow, we had to ask for refills 3 times-they walked by and saw our empty glass and still didn't refill until we asked. When my parents mentioned they were missing an order of sausage it took them 20 minutes to bring them out. It was just terrible all around. I wish we could complain and get our money back. Really great food! Best shrimp po boy I've had in a long time. Their fried shrimp is perfectly delicate, almost like a tempura, and not greasy at all. My mom had a pound each of the headless shrimp (Cajun and garlic butter). The shrimp are plump and perfectly seasoned. I'm glad I tried them too and they were great! The shrimp meat has actual flavor instead of just the sauce doing the heavy lifting. I'm sad that this place opened during covid but we will be supporting them. They have temperature checks at the door which made me feel safe. Today, however; from the frozen, thawed some time 2 to 3 days ago, oysters that had an obviously not fresh taste to the cold fried pickles, it was the worst experience I have had anywhere in a very long time. The staff seemed not to care about there being customers and were more interested in talking to one another and a guest at the bar. When the appetizers we ordered finally showed up 20 minutes after ordering them, they were as described above and there were no condiments with them we had to specifically ask for the ranch, ketchup, and horseradish (what we got was not horseradish). What we got was each in a little plastic to-go sauce cup with lid. We paid and left not ordering the rest of the meal. Everyone's stomach is upset, felt like I wanted to vomit for the next hour. Catfish basket, shrimp poboy basket, eggrolls appetizer, and wings. The catfish was lacking flavor and the 2 pieces I received were extremely small, not work $12 at all! The shrimp poboy was ok, but the shrimp to bread ratio was not good. Not enough shrimp for the bread. I was told the fries were cajun, but there was nothing spectacular about the fries.
