She proceeded to continue her own personal conversation on her cell phone while checking me out. Sucky customer service.

This store has been in Kirkwood for about a decade and every time I come in, it's a good experience. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a great selection of soaps and other items such as decorations and knick knacks. You can even watch them make the soaps in the evenings, most days. Yes, the soaps are expensive, but they're free of artificial ingredients and give back to the community. That's a win in my book :)

The employees who make their soaps, are adults who have IDD's. I love how they give back to the community by creating jobs. My recent visit, I didn't buy any soaps, I already have a good supply. However, I did buy a lot of their other gift items. I took advantage of some of the holiday discounts, got a pair of car coasters and new cocktail napkins. In my world, you can never have enough cocktail napkins. I take my own to bars and restaurants when meeting family and friends. I not only recommend Sammysoap for soaps, but it's also a fantastic place to find unique and affordable gifts. They have a lot of dog themed gifts, that I personally would like to receive. So if they have something for me, you'll find something for your friend or family, too. The staff/cashier are friendly and professional. As I browsed the store, they politely informed me of items on sale/promotion. They had some good sales going on. I may be going back for some lamps they had 30% off.

I initially…read morechose them because of their Arnold location and working with kids, but they only accept new patients or children at their Sunset Hills office, which is a far drive for us. Because they don't offer after-school slots for new patients (the latest they offer is 2:30 PM), I had to arrange classroom coverage to leave work early as a teacher, and pull my daughters out of school. After dealing with school delays, traffic, and difficult parking, we walked into the office at 2:40 PM for our 2:30 PM appointment. The receptionist was on the phone, and when she finally acknowledged us at 2:41pm, she rudely informed me that they would not see us because we were past their 10-minute grace period by one minute. We were literally one minute late with two young kids in tow. I understand the need to stay on schedule, but to turn away a new patient who waited over a month for an appointment--and who clearly rushed to get there--over sixty seconds is completely rigid and lacking in basic customer service. We will not be back and I recommend looking elsewhere if you want an office that values its patients' time and effort.

St. Louis Skin Solutions is clean with a pleasant, relaxing ambiance, and the technician I worked…read morewith was professional and attentive. However, it provided NO help whatsoever in removing my dark pigmentation or melasma. I initially sought treatment for melasma. The laser treatment was completely ineffective, and the subsequent Enlighten Depigmentation System triggered a severe full-body rash approximately 2.5 years ago. The rash was so intense that it required rocky and enormous medical helps to calm it down. After that difficult period, I managed my skin issue on my own. Through more than 2.5 years of focused self home care, I successfully cleared approximately 99% of my melasma using a simple daily regimen centered on Vanicream products. The results came entirely from my self home treatment -- NOT from this facility. A. For Professionals: If a client discloses that they have sensitive skin, I strongly recommend implementing a 72-hour patch test followed by a 5-day monitoring period as a standard precautionary step. This is far more effective than relying solely on a liability waiver. B. For Future Customers: Laser treatments or chemical peels might provide temporary surface-level improvement and a short-term glow, but if underlying internal factors (such as toxin accumulation) are not addressed, pigmentation issues like melasma are very likely to return. In my case, the clinical treatments from this facility offered zero benefit and instead caused a severe reaction. C. Key Recommendations from My Experience: a. Sun Protection: Practice absolute, consistent sun protection every day. b. Dietary Focus: - Avoid highly processed foods - Minimize high-sugar foods - Reduce high-salt intake - Eat plenty of green vegetables and a wide variety of colorful produce c. Maintain well-balanced daily nutrition d. Incorporate Vitamin C serum into your skincare routine e. Stress Management: Incorporate daily meditation and deep breathing exercises to support overall detoxification. This journey reinforced that sustainable skin health comes from gentle, consistent self home effort and internal wellness -- NOT from the treatments I received at this facility at all.
