I have medium/long thick hair and she did a great job adding some movement and easy to style layers to my cut. Pretty reasonable pricing at $45/haircut. Amy probably noticed that I had pretty much zero hair product in my hair when I came in so she didn't pile on styling goop during the blowout which I appreciated. My main concern was having some rookie make me look like more of a doofus than I already am because they didn't possess the skills to make me look like I could pull of an undercut. Anyways, I took the plunge and walked over and asked if there was someone who could give me my fresh new "do" and I was directed to Chris Cross. Not only did he do an awesome job but he basically coached me on how to style my hair so I could actually duplicate what he did on my own. The haircut itself cost $25 which I think is a completely reasonable price for what I'm getting. And I will happily pay it again knowing the service I get when I go there. He shampooed, washed and cut my hair. Plus, he used some cement product. All in all it probably takes at least 30 minutes. I also think $25 is the minimum for a men's hair cut. Pros: - Their business cards have their cell phone numbers on them. - They have a website, which contains their bios. Initially, a major selling point for me. - Extremely nice. - Been able to make appointments a few days out (at least with Chris). Cons: - None so far

Jean is not only a truly lovely human being, but she's also a talented and attentive hairstylist who listens to you and then executes with perfection. She also cuts the hair of two of my children -- one of whom waits to come home from college to get her haircut by Jean and one of whom is a teenage boy who is incredibly particular about his hair (super fine hair, front and center cowlick). He is a difficult client but Jean takes it all in stride. He's gone to several handfuls of hairstylists and she's the only one he will let touch his hair. I've asked Jean to do color, root touch-ups, full-blown haircuts and trims for me, and she's only outdone herself. She's even done a blowout for my daughter for a high school dance. She has fabulous energy and a big heart, and I highly recommend her! read more

After looking thru hair sites I found exactly what I was looking for. I consulted with Jean and she advised a hair technique I had never had done before. Bayalage. It would give me the color depth I was trying to achieve without the "stripey" look of a traditional highlight. The process took a little longer than a highlight (I have a TON of hair) but the results are spectacular. Now I look like I have flowing, sun-kissed tresses without the obvious demarcation of the foils. She did an excellent job and I highly recommend you to try her salon Mirror Mirror. She lead me through what the process would be step by step, explaining each technique and what that technique would accomplish and I am so happy with the final product!! read more

I LOVE Jean. I just recently found her last week and I am so happy I did. I'm not from the stl area and I will generally wait until I go back "home" to get my hair done. But, it was getting to where I wasn't able to make it there but a couple times a year and my hair was in some desperate need of some love. So- I was nervous trying out someone for the first time. (My last experience in stl was not a good one.) But as soon as I sat down I could tell she knew what she was doing. Her shop is very cute and the location is fun. I've already referred 2 of my friends and looking to try and recruit more. I have gotten sooooo many compliments on my hair and I absolutely love it. Go see her. Asap. read more

AMAZING EXPERIENCE !!! I wanted my black hair dyed & cut and I was searching for the right hairstylist for couple of months, then I came across jean's insta profile. I was impressed by her client's posted pictures and the reviews on yelp so I booked a consultation with her, I showed her what I wanted and she explained to me that those colors were not suitable for me. I was sure after the consultation that I can trust her with my hair. My haircut & dye session was 5 hours long and she did an amazing job, she was so calm during the whole time. I definitely recommend her, she is very professional and sweet. read more

I've been going to Jean for 3-4 years now. I've gone from long hair to pixie and now back to longer locks. She's been helpful along the way knowing how to turn the grow-out into a style. I regularly cover my grays and her color is spot on. 2-3 times a year I add in other color to give my hair depth and it is always so beautiful.
