This is a really cute coffee shop. I ordered from their specialty menu, and my drink was delicious. One thing I noticed while ordering was that I forgot to mention which size I wanted. I think their drinks come in 8, 12, and 16 ounces. I got a little too excited and moved on to ordering my food after picking the milk option I wanted. The server didn't ask what size I wanted and just gave me the 16 ounce, which is obviously the more expensive one. I didn't mind too much, but it would have been nice if she checked with me before finalizing the drink. I ordered the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it came in a big portion. It looked great, but the taste was just okay. Not a lot of flavors coming from the bread, cheese or ham. Just sort of dull and big. There isn't a lot of indoor seating, and they have a small back patio. I had to sit outside because all the indoor seats were taken. I asked the staff if there were any outlets outside since my laptop was dying. They told me there are basically no outdoor plugs, except for one behind the door leading outside, which is too far from the tables to use while working. That was a big letdown. I've driven by this place a million times and never knew it was there!! A friend introduced me to Kind Grounds, it's her go to spot for matcha. I am more of a coffee drinker but as excited to try it. It's a cozy spot with lots of plants, which I love! I had an iced oat milk latte (the smaller sized cup, both have the same amount of espresso) and my friend had the strawberry vanilla with matcha. We were both very happy with our drinks. I didn't try any food but they had pastries behind the counter and a food menu. There are several tables inside, a small outdoor patio on the side and a few seats out front. We did not have trouble finding a table but I imagine it could get quite crowded at peak times. Parking: I parked right out front with no issues but they also have a few parking spaces. Service was quick and friendly. It has great vibes, both in the ambience and in the ideas of the coffee shop, Namely that they have an order on the menu both online and in person where you can choose to pay for the person ahead of you to get a seasonal drink. It's a good place to both work or socialize. I will come right out and say that Kind Grounds as at the top of my list for favorite cafes on the West Side, and I frequent many of them! It is so easy to fall in love with their dog-friendly patio right out of a Spanish countryside and their strong coffee drinks. The staff is so so friendly and welcoming, you truly feel like you have entered a community space. They have tons of fun events in the evenings that I cannot wait to try out. For coffee lovers, there is a coffee flight and many specialty espresso drinks to try. I had a recent season strawberry latte that I absolutely loved. For matcha fans, they have a substantial selection as well. For my folks looking to study or work away from home, this is a great spot. I would not depend on camping out here since the cafe does not stay open too late, but it is a wonderful place to get reading and laptop work done. I like the mix of people socializing and working. Cute neighborhood coffee shop. I enjoyed bringing my laptop and working here. They have soft cushioned seating and a nice outdoor area. The cold brew wasn't as strong as I prefer, but it was still good. Also ordered a nutella croissant muffin which was fine except I wish I got it warmed up. Great food, great ambiance, great service, and great mission statement. Need I say more?? I'm not a big coffee drinker or coffee shop-goer, but I got some of the best work done underneath this roof. Being caffeine free since 03, I opted for a pot pie instead of liquid energy the first time I was here. I then enjoyed the ambiance inside (although outside is really nice too!) Local art adorns the walls and I was made aware of many events run through KG, including Run Club, Trivia Night, Board Game Night and more. There's so much great stuff to say about the food and drink itself, but I'm more qualified to talk about the community that KG is fostering. I now know many of the "regulars" here and feel like I'm part of a cultural awakening in the Palms/Culver area. If you think this is hyperbole, I recommend checking out KG for yourself! read more

June 2023 update to my Kind Ground review. The more time I spend at this coffee shop the more I appreciate, admire, and love it. Kind Grounds tries to be a *warm* coffee shop, not a hip one. I feel like that distinction matters these days. How often do we go to a place and you can tell the photo aesthetics is prioritized over the experiential aesthetics? Kind Grounds cares more about the latter without sacrificing the former. It's comfortable to work in, hang out in, drink / eat at. I'm really happy Kind Grounds opened in our neighborhood. I felt like it was a bit gritty/powdery texture-wise. The strawberry milk reminded me of the tiny Korean-flavored milks that come in the juice boxes. I've had several of their coffees and food items, including their earthy Grounded Latte and spinach and artichoke croissant sandwich, Everything has been delicious. I love walking there from my house and supporting this local small business. Parking is limited as there is only residential parking from what I can see, which could get harder if parking becomes permit only. The clientele skews twenty-somethings for the most part although I've seen an eclectic customer base. I've seen everyone from students to online first dates, to locals like me going there to read a book or work. They have an outdoor area that would definitely benefit from a space heater but is cute. The inside is usually in the mid to high 60s and too cold in my opinion to make the place comfy enough to hang out for longer periods. As a former Culver City resident, I'm so glad to find new coffee shops in the area when I'm back in LA. Decided to check out Kind Grounds and was pleasantly surprised! I got the Kind Mocha, which was delicious with a well balanced mix between coffee, milk, and chocolate. Loved how it wasn't too sweet and the chocolate flavors reminded me of lots of mini chocolate chips (semi sweet or dark) rather than an artificial hot cocoa mix. The espresso flavors were definitely present but not too overwhelming. Loved how they do Pay It Forward - so you can pay for the next guest or get a free drink from a stranger! Both lid and cup are all compostable. I also tried the Butter Chicken Pie which was well seasoned and featured a good ratio of buttery pastry puff, chicken, and butter chicken curry sauce. The place itself is very cute with lots of greenery and wooden tables. There are a good amount of indoor tables and outdoor tables in a separate back area. Great place to get work done cause it wasn't too loud and wifi is pretty solid. Good amount of street parking outside as well. Would definitely come back the next time I'm back! read more

I needed a pick-me-up after dropping off some family members at LAX, and found Kind Grounds along the way back home. - PARKING - There are just two spots on the side of the building dedicated for Kind Ground customers, that are also time-limited if I remember correctly, but otherwise, you'll have to find street parking nearby! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - The cafe is quaint and small, very cozy inside! There's not much room for large groups, but just enough for a few small parties to sit and chat. If this cafe was in my neighborhood, I would absolutely walk over and do some work when I had the chance! The menu isn't large, although they do have seasonal specials! After ordering, it took about 5 minutes to get our drinks. - DRINKS - Strawberry Vanilla Latte: I was very intrigued as I don't see Strawberry Vanilla options often at cafes. They said I could choose between espresso or matcha - after trying espresso, I think matcha would have been a better fit. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't what I expected. I felt like there was a slightly off taste to the Strawberry flavor, but still finished my drink. First I have to say, the coffee quality is absolutely amazing and it's clear they know what they're doing when it comes to coffee. This is the only reason any stars at all. My experience was sadly overshadowed by the service. I ordered my drink and asked to have it 3x sweeter than they would normally make it. When I tried my drink and asked if they had sweetener that I could add myself, the barista added the minimal amount from her bottle, which was hardly enough. When I kindly requested more, I overheard her mutter something under her breath, which was quite unprofessional. To top it off, she proceeded to dump a massive amount from a new sweetener container into my drink, leaving me feeling very uncomfortable. It's unfortunate that such a wonderful coffee shop has a barista who doesn't seem to value customer service. read more

came here with 3 friends and we tried each others drinks. we tried the iced mocha, iced vanilla latte and iced caramel latte, and two burritos. the coffees tasted fine but the flavor additions were absolutely undetectable. just tasted like really milky coffee. i was shocked that i paid $8 for a FROZEN burrito that was cold in the middle. it was too busy to bug the employees to nuke it again. glad i tried this place because i live nearby and wanted to check it off my list. but it was so mediocre, and in this economy, i cant justify spending my hard earned dollars on disappointing gentrification coffee. the only saving grace here is the AMAZING staff. the employees are all super sweet!!! they deserve the world!!! xoxoxo UPDATE: the owner reached out and offered me a refund. I ordered a warm Matcha Latte with Oat milk and sweetened with honey. My boyfriend ordered The Good Tonic, which is an espresso tonic. Both drinks turned out really good! I loved that the matcha was very creamy, despite it being made with oat milk rather than whole milk. It wasn't watery at all. You can still taste the matcha flavor, unlike many other places where the oat milk flavor overpowers the actual matcha flavor. The way she sweetened it with honey was perfect too! You can also have the option of being sweetened with vanilla if you don't want honey, or you can have it unsweetened as a choice. However, the honey for me was not too sweet or overpowering. Everything was put together perfectly, the whole flavor was balanced. As for the espresso tonic, my boyfriend says he really liked it too and so did I. Honestly both drinks were 10/10 for us! We were served by a woman, and didn't catch her name but she was nice and made our drinks perfectly! The ambience of the place was calming, cozy, and modern. They had a nice little decorated patio area. I saw many people sitting doing their work on their laptop. There were few groups just chatting as well. Still, it was not too loud at all. The two young ladies who served us our coffee and a blueberry muffin treat were so pleasant, efficient, and friendly. We observed them serving other customers the same way and with a smile too. Your shop, tables, seating and restroom was spotless. We spent several enjoyable hours in your Coffee Shop, until our car repairs were finished. This spot has quickly become my parter and my favorite coffee spot since moving in nearby. It's a lovely shop, always with plenty of seating options inside or on the cute patio. It's a great place to have a conversation or catch up on work. The food and drink menu is great! Many unique options, along with the classics. I have had a hard time NOT getting the Strawberry Matcha Latte... it's so good and I crave it every week! I also haven't found it on menus anywhere else. Their seasonal items are also great, like the pumpkin spice latte. They gave me the option of more pumpkin flavor or more spice. I went with more spice and it was great! The hot cocoa is also really good, they add a little cinnamon... delish! Their breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos are so delicious and filling. I'm usually not hungry for lunch when have Kind Grounds for breakfast! And the burritos last me two meals. We have also really appreciated their social events, like trivia, hikes, game nights, and vendor market. They post their events schedule both online and in shop. As new-to-LA people, these events have been a great way to meet new, kind, welcoming people. There's parking on the left side of the building (two spots), or street parking in the residential area. Such a cute new coffee shop in Palms/Mar Vista area! They have ample seating / tables and overall good vibes. They have a nice drink menu with specialty drinks + teas, or the regular classics. There was a small pastry case too with cookies, bagels, and brownies when I went in (around noon so they had more earlier in the day). I got an oat milk rosemary vanilla latte (one of the specialty drinks) and thought it was SO yummy! The rosemary is flavorful but not too much, and the coffee itself was delicious.
