However, when I arrived for my next appointment, they claimed I did not have an appointment for the filling. Instead, they had scheduled me for a deep cleaning, which I never agreed to. They also threatened to charge a cancellation fee if I refused. When I asked to continue my original treatment and complete the filling as planned, they flatly refused. They made it clear that unless I agreed to the deep cleaning, they would not proceed with my treatment and would impose a cancellation fee. This experience made me feel that they are highly unprofessional and more focused on making money than providing honest, patient-centered care.

Despite good dental health, I was fearful and hesitant find another dentist after transitioning to a new insurance plan and new work location (from Washington DC to Northern Virginia). I had been at my previous dentist for nearly 12 years. It turns out, change is good! I've found that those areas that were frequently listed as "watch and monitor" did in fact require action by way of filling. Listen, bad news doesn't get better with time when it comes to a weak spot in your tooth enamel. I found the staff to be very professional and incredibly personable! I saw Dr. Jenny Cheung. Dr. Cheung took the time to listen to my concerns (some aesthetic and some functional) and provided great advice and recommendations. I feel my smile is improved and I have a renewed interest in wearing my night guard each night (she found the right words to motivate me to form a new habit.) I loved how she used distraction techniques to minimize my thought of having a Novocain needle "pinch" or sting before getting a filling. The whole experience (from parking to payment was first rate.) The highlights: - Dr. Cheung has been on-time for both appointments (I was in the dental chair within 5 minutes of my appointment time). - The waiting area has current magazines to read (nobody likes to read magazines from 2013!) - The bathroom has toothbrushes and toothpaste for a quick freshen (for those post work/school appointments). - The front desk staff let me know an estimate of "patient responsibility" based on my insurance prior to making my follow-on appointment. This is huge to me as if I know I have a $2200 responsibility, I may choose to schedule a month or two out to avoid putting dental work on a credit card if at all possible. My situation wasn't bad at all, but I could certainly see where having the information up front could help a person plan for the necessary work. - Appointments can be made on ZocDoc (often times I work in cubicle land which doesn't allow for privacy at work, so having the ability to quietly schedule online is a bonus). - Free parking (my previous dentist was nearly $21 to park each time) I look forward to having a new 12 year relationship with a dentist! See you in 6 months!

My visit with Dr Rohini Banavar DMD. I have travelled About…read more60 countries in the past while working for United Nations and have been to numerous Dental clinics all over the world. Dr Banavar beats all of them hands down. Let me explain as to why I feel that Dr Banavar is outstanding in providing an all round professional care. It starts when you enter her Clinic. When you walk into her Clinic you feel you have come to a very safe and a comfortable place and then you are greeted by two smart and articulate young ladies Ms.Biancha and Ms.Salina at the front desk. These two young ladies are very proficient in answering all your questions and more so guiding you correctly as to what the process would be and even explaining as to how the insurance system works and how much would be your part to bear so that there are no surprises and all this is done in an articulate and respectable manner. The best is that they are very pleasant all the while... service with a "smile". Then you are called by Dr. Banavar's assistance who guides you to the comfortable Dental Chair and all is prepared for the patient to be seen by the Doctor ... all this is done with care and respect. I have been under Dr Banavar's care for the last about 10 years. She has always cared for the patients well being and her treatment is based on 'what is best for the individual patient'... there is no 'one glove fits all'... Dr.Banavar takes time that is required to diagnose the problem and she never rushes. Dr. Banavar is very knowledgable and is very accurate in her findings and I can assure you this thru personal experiences. Going out of the way to save your teeth is her normal way to treat a patient. The few times that I have been seen by her she saved my teeth from being removed and restored them thus allowing me its proper usage. Dr.Banavar does not waste time in beating around the bush and she is very direct and clear in her approach for the best of the Patient. Dr. Banavar will always discuss the approach with the patient to make the patient aware and to make them realise the outcome. The best part is that Dr.Banavar will also let you know as to if there are any alternatives and also as to what could be the outcome if a corrective process/procedures are not done... this again is thru my personal experiences as I had delayed a procedure that was suggested by Dr.Banavar and during covid time I was stuck overseas and could not get any required attention for my issues ... it was at that time I realised "I wish I had listened to Her". Few of my friends are her patients and they too have the same opinion that "Dr.Banavar cares about the patient welfare" Dr.Banavar's treatment is based on What is the best for the patient. I am glad that I am in safe hands of Dr.Banavar.
