It all started at a pig roast I went to some time ago. A traditional pig roast is a whole hog affair where a pig is roasted for hours on end yielding super tender meat, and super crispy skin. The cracklins are the best part of the roast, or at least so I thought. I bit right into one, and it was so hard that it literally fractured a tooth of mine. Just split the sucker right in half. I'd never seen or even heard of anything like that happening before. I couldn't believe what happened. I obviously had to get it repaired, but I didn't even know where to start. I had just moved to the NoVA area, and was in need of a dentist. A family friend referred me to Dr. Nguyen, and the reviews seemed pretty favorable, so I gave him a shot. Boy was I glad I did. Dr. Nguyen was able to repair the tooth. He bonded it back together rather easily; no pain at all. He explained everything to me clearly of what happened, and that what had actually happened was that the previous dentist who worked on the tooth did a poor job of a filling which caused the tooth to crack on the inside, all it needed was something hard to cause it to shear (the cracklins). Dental Insurance covered everything, and all told the procedure as well as paperwork were both painless. I've returned to Dr. Nguyen every three months for cleanings, and while he's a great dentist, he's honestly just a great person in general. Funny guy to talk to, and definitely makes going to the dentist a pretty decent experience. Highly recommended if you live in NoVA.

It was a very trying time, calling upward 25 different practices looking for emergency dentistry to help during the stay at home order. Nik was opened with limited hours for emergency services. The receptionist was so professional, polite and friendly! My BF said that he felt safe and took comfort in the fact that the doctor was thorough in trying to save the tooth root if he could - the crack was too bad though, and they had to extract it and graph the area. The doctor was very clear when telling us what the plan was to getting a implant and the timelines needed. The receptionist was very knowledgeable about the insurance coverage and gave us multiple options, providing insight as to how we could maximize our deductions and provided us with additional paperwork we could use when filing workers comp and short term disability with his work. We've been through the gamut between the three of them from simple cleanings, to easy fillings to not so easy root canals and he's always done a great job. Office staff is friendly as well. I don't have any issues with the fact the technicians and doctor still prefer to fully mask up - the mouth is pretty germy after all. He will definitely let the kids know if they need to do a better job brushing or flossing and he doesn't try to coddle them in that manner but is very direct about it (but not rude in my opinion) He's good at explaining to me what is going on and what needs to be done as well.

Sharing another review on another procedure I had done (Invisalign and Crown)…read more I had a rare case with my front tooth (it broke in half at 12 years old) and I've had a bond on it for about 10 years... it's truly amazing how it was able to hold up that long. However, it has definitely been way over due that I needed a crown to replace it. Dr. Nguyen was the one who bonded my original front tooth, so he knew very well about the history behind it. Naturally, I trusted him to take care of my crown. The process was so seamless and the color matched PERFECTLY with all my other teeth. He really cares about his patient's happiness - I can't tell you how many times he kept saying he would do all that he can to get it to match the right color (even if it took several visits which luckily it only took one!) As far as my invisalign treatment, he also was very thorough in telling me how to take care of it during the process. I wore it for about 18 months and I am extremely happy with my results and now can't stop smiling! I have reviewed Dr. Nguyen before, and I am happy to do so again. I have never left disappointed. You best bet you can trust Dr. Nguyen for any dental concerns! He has his best interest in his patients and wants to make sure you walk out that door happy.
