Vada Pav sliders

A nice restaurant right by English bay serving Indian food and drinks! It is a spacious place so good for a larger group size. Their cocktails on happy hour were pricey but definitely worth it! I tried their lavender gin and mango coconut bellini - both were delicious!! Could not taste the alcohol but it got me a bit tipsy so they did a good job at hiding it. lol Their food was pricey as well but not worth it. I'm from Mumbai so my opinions on their snacks might be a bit biased - their vada pav sliders had cucumber in them which is unheard of! Authentic vada pavs don't have cucumber but a lot of spice. I could not say the same for this one. 3/5 for this one. Also tried their dahi puri, which was a 3/5 as well. The "puri" was soggy and hard to eat. I used their big spoons but it still fell apart. Might consider trying their other food items next time for a better understanding but I will say that their drinks are on point!

Ordered their butter chicken, chana masala, pakora, naan and rice lunch special from Uber. Let's start with, my Uber driver handled this delivery with so much care and he was so pleasant. Told me to please enjoy my meal, wow! The food smells delicious. I asked for mild spice and it is perfect. Still enough kick and the flavour is phenomenal. Love the butter chicken, the slight sweetness totally did it for me today. Chana masala was well seasoned. Exactly how I would like it! Pakora is hearty, not greasy and their chutney sauce is bang on.

Came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it wasn't too busy. We got the lunch thalis, one with fish and one with butter chicken, and both were delicious. Could have been a little spicier, but they probably keep it mild since it's made in bulk for lunch. They also skimped on the chicken. Good portion sizes with everything else though , especially the naan. Definitely recommend this place if you want a simple yet delicious Indian lunch.

We are so sad that we didn't stumble upon Kinara until our last day in town. A previous review mentioned that this is Vancouver's greatest curry secret, but I think it's Vancouver's greatest Indian food secret! It was the most delicious, flavorful, filling Indian food I have ever had in my life. There were not any dishes that we tried that were bad -- and we had a lot! We definitely over ordered and stuffed ourselves full, but we couldn't help it! Everything was so delicious! On top of yummy food, they also had incredible drinks and friendly service. Bathrooms were clean, TV was fun to watch as it featured tons of colorful music videos from Bollywood films, and the entire building has an aroma of delicious spices. Counting down the days until I can come back and enjoy another Kinara feast!

We came in on a Saturday evening in March around 7:30 PM. Made a reservation, but it did not seem necessary as the restaurant was only about half full. We were seated promptly upon arrival, but it took a few minutes to get a server and put in an order. No big deal for us, but if you're time sensitive, plan accordingly during dinner time. For drinks we both opted for the masala chai. Drinks took a while to come out, as more people started to filter in for the evening. We picked the samosas to start. They came as a pair, were warm, and a nice way to kick off our journey. For dinner, I went with Rogan Josh and my partner went for the butter chicken. The Rogan Josh was flavorful, had a an appropriate spice level as requested and was paired with the standard naan and rice. The butter chicken was flavorful, but missing the spice for me (she prefers it mild/no spice). The chicken for both dishes was tender and paired well with the flavors. In the background, there was a lovely sizzle of the kitchen, a lively music playing, and the laughter and satisfied conversation of others enjoying their dishes. Overall, I would return to dine but will make sure I temper my time expectations accordingly.

Garlic butter naan, butter chicken with Basmati rice, tandoori chicken and mango chutney.

This is the best Indian food in the West End. The room is cozy, cute and in a convenient location, and the people that work there are really nice. They also offer 10% off pick up/take out and local delivery over $35. I prefer ordering from local places that do in house delivery over giving money to the aps. That way the restaurant gets to keep it all and you avoid all the added fees. The prices here are great as well. Last night we got take out and it was as delicious as ever. My favourite is the tandoori chicken, and I definitely recommend trying to with the mango chutney if you're a fan of sweet things. The chicken Tika masala, butter chicken and mango chicken are delicious too. The $3 side of rice is definitely enough for 2 ppl, especially if you're ordering the garlic butter naan with it as well. If you're craving authentic, fairly priced Indian cuisine from a local business, Kanara is definitely the best of the best!

So happy we stopped in for lunch! A cozy interior and welcoming staff set the scene for a good experience. We ordered the lunch special and substituted the Rogan Josh for the shrimp curry. This is probably the best Rogan Josh I've ever had. The lunch special is a fantastic size leaving us both happily full with little left over. Highly recommend this restaurant and also recommend you top it off with the masala chia.

I'd give it a solid 3.5. The restaurant is walkable to bus stops and street parkings at walking distance. The skytrain is about 20mins walk (Burrard). The staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant a bit dark and very hot because there's no air conditioner and only a small table fan. On a hot day, it's almost unbearable but when it's not hot, there's no issue. The interior is nice but nothing memorable. The Bollywood music they play is cliche at time. For someone who love Bollywood music, they aren't playing the right ones. The food is great though. Mango lassi is not too sweet, a tad sour and perfect consistency. The curries are so good! Super flavourful and the lamb is a must try. Was a bit skeptical about the mango curry but turned out to be my boyfriend and my favourite curry. Decent portion and rice is cooked properly. If you aren't good with spicy food, mild is enough. Their mild is a tad more spicy than most Indian restaurants' "mild". Their curries are well made with different species and very authentic, not the ones that tastes the same no matter which curry to order. Not a place I'd travel all the way for, but if I'm around the area and craving for Indian food, it's a place I'd revisit.

Well, i tried Kinara on a recommendation from a friend, but im not a fan. I love Indian food for the rich flavors and spice....and I always order everything hot. To order food hot and have it arrive with zero spice and minimal flavor, was a real shock. I am not gonna apologize, but this was the most bland Indian food I have ever eaten. I dunno if the cook in the kitchen was off tonight, but not only is it incredible mild (not hot at all), there literally is zero flavor. $60 down the drain, im probably gonna toss most of the food. I never feel good about written a bad review, but this was bad food. The mixed Tandori grill....wow....this is usually a fav of mine, again...zero flavor. Thr prawn were mushy and the lamb over cooked. Its unfortunate. If i ever try Kinara again it will be at my friends place, if she orders because I can't say I'd wanna spend that much for the dissapointment. I

I made reservations for us for 4pm, so as to take advantage of their Happy Hour. We went earlier today (a Wednesday) and the place was empty at 4pm. I think it fills up later, for dinner. (I still advise making reservations as you never really know if it's going to be busy). Right off the bat, we were blown away by the interior. It is gorgeous! Small, but gorgeous. The murals, the chandeliers, the bar....and omg, the bathrooms. If you visit, you MUST check out the bathrooms. They have the most fabulous sinks I have ever seen. They didn't have a large selection of HH offerings, unfortunately, but what they did have was amazingly good. My friends who were extremely knowledgeable on Indian cuisine ordered for us, and we shared 3 different small plates (tandoori vegetable momos, cochin cauliflower bites, and some sort of delicious fried onions), and 2 desserts (soan paid malai khwaab, and foxtail millet pudding). And just...wow, everything was SO SO good. The three appetizers were so flavorful and the desserts, unlike anything I've ever had before and simply delicious. We also had drinks (but, of course!). One friend had a mango lassi which she loved, one friend had a high ball which she loved, and I had a mango mojito which I loved. (See a pattern? lol). All was great. Our server, Leesa (not sure of spelling) was so incredibly personable and lovely, and a gentleman I gather is the owner came by twice to make sure everything was okay. We felt like VIPs, with all the care and attention we got. Seriously, the folks here could not be nicer. I'm already planning on bringing my two daughters here. I know they'll love this place. Heck, anyone would love this place. My friends and I all plan on returning. Great great place!

Service was nice from PANKAJ…read more I'll start w th Marsala fries: they ARE a SIGNATURE dish and just those will bring U bak for more. Perfectly CRISP w/out over cooking. Nicely seasoned w/out to much .... We almost ordered 2 more portions of the Ffries the next morning for our drive to HBay but left B4 they reopened (1130am). Th Boys had th Butter Chicken and th wings appy (10 BIG wings) complimented w a lovely mint dipping sauce. They are well marinated (min 24hrs) and hav a little bit of heat to them (which the boys merrily crushed) Wifeys GOA Fish Curry was OUTSTANDING and stood out a little above my choice of the Prawn SAAG. The GOA Curry Sauce is another "come back for more" signature dish. The Prawn Saag was my 1st time dish... came w good heat/spice while still being creamy/buttery. Its a dark green curry sauce due to the spinach so DONNOT b dissapointed by the colour .. it IS deelishiousss Go! Its worth it for th Fries, Goa Curry, wings AND Saag Curries

The menu has a lot of options but not too many so that's nice. We ordered the gobi Manchurian to start and it was very yummy, but spicier than expected. At first we asked for a medium spice level when asked during ordering but after eating this appetizer we had to change it to mild for the rest of the order. I would say the spice levels are a lot higher than other places as someone who likes spicy food normally so keep in mind. We also got butter and garlic naans, paneer, and dal tadka. The naan wasn't cooked all the way at first so we had to request another well cooked, and it was better the second time. The paneer and dal was good as well, and so was the basmati rice. The quantity of rice was a lot too. Overall the food and experience here was good.

We got the look as if we were sure we were in the right place not in a bad way but as if we were sure that was what we wanted. Food comes out pretty quick and you can always get a drink to keep you comfortable. I got a glass of Malbec my favorite.
