I realized, having an appointment and not having to wait when I walk in, is lovely! Kim's offers spa pedicures, which I love! Even suggested my SIL who was visiting from AZ go and try the Gold Spa Pedicure! We both agree, it was great! I recently switched from a gel manicure to powder dip and I love it! Although Kim was super nice and friendly I couldn't give this place more than two stars. First, only one kind of spa pedicure. No options at all. And no communication about it. It's like the staff just moved around like robots. Second, old equipment. My pedi chair didn't even work and it looked beat up. I looked at women getting gel and the dryers they used were just dirty and not looking good. Eeeek! Third, I got a 20 minute back massage and they didn't even have a massage chair. I literally sat in a chair backwards in a straddle position with my head down on a waxing table. Seriously??? Also, I wanted a 20 minute massage and she stopped at 10 minutes. Had to tell her I wanted 20 min. Again, working like robots and not having good communication among co-workers and customers. Finally, the work I got done was just ok. Noting spectacular. Maybe I'm picky, but I think when I'm paying for a service I should be. I work hard for my money, just like they do, and I want what I pay for. My mani was just meh. She could have cleaned up my cuticles a little better. Let's see how long my polish lasts. A coat of paint and new decor, working and clean equipment, and a massage chair would get me to come back. By far the WORST experience ever. Literally such a language barrier that they refuse to even try to figure out what you want. They just do what THEY want, and if you want any differently then you get the huff and puffs. I asked for them to cut my nails shorter, they wouldn't. I asked to see a array of French nail colored pinks. Wouldn't do it. Every thing they had an explanation on why they couldn't. Nothing made sense. Couldn't wait to get out of there, the end result you ask?? Gel manicure that is so lopsided , goes skinner from cuticle to wide tips. The pink is light where you can see all the imperfections. Any way, I just wanted to leave. I go to pay; she had the audacity to charge me $90 for both mani/pedi gel lmaooooooo I would have paid that if it was even decent or the experience. Great nail salon! I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. I used to go with my mom and just watch her get her nails done when I was younger (literally since I was 5 years old!), but then I started getting my nails and brows done once I entered high school. - WHEN TO COME IN: Kim's is located on a main street in Hasbrouck Heights, so they always have customers. It gets packed on Friday evenings and before 2 on Saturdays, so I'd suggest coming in anytime Monday-Thursday, early Friday, and later on Saturday afternoons if you don't have the time to wait and if you want a better quality service (see Quality of Service). - PARKING: It's street parking, so that could be a hassle on Fridays and Saturdays but I almost always find a spot nearby. - INTERIOR: Nothing special - no fancy décor or massage chairs for pedis. - STAFF: Extremely nice! Especially the owner, Kim. But I will admit: If you don't like people talking to you at the nail salon, I probably wouldn't recommend this place to you. Kim is very outgoing and hilarious, and she likes to get to know her customers. I personally think she's great, but I know some people who would consider her chattiness a turn off. In my experience, Kim will also try to upsell (Example: I'll come in for a mani only, and she'll ask if I want a pedi too) but if you say no once, she won't push it. - PRICES (They offer much more, but these are the only services I've gotten): Regular manis: $7 Gel mani: $30 Regular pedi: $15 ($20 for men) Eyebrow waxing: $7 Lip waxing: $4 - QUALITY OF SERVICE: All the manis and pedis I've gotten here have been amazing. The color lasts so long on my nails regardless of the polish brand, and Kim even offers free accent nail design on each hand! The nail technicians usually take their time but I've had 2-3 instances on Saturday mornings when it's super busy where I feel like the nail technicians don't do as thorough of a job as they normally do. Also, if you're unhappy with a nail shape (round, square, squoval, etc.) or if you think a nail is filed unevenly, just tell them. They'll be more than happy to fix it or even it out for you. The only problem I have with this salon is their waxing. I used to get my brows and lip waxed every 3 weeks here for YEARS and I didn't have any problems until a few months ago. I'm not sure if they changed their wax or if the heat is set too high now, but the wax burned me badly 3 times last year. At first I thought I was left with burns because the person doing it was just being too aggressive, so I asked for a different person the next time I went and it happened again. I gave it one last try with someone else, and I was still getting burned. At that point, I just decided to get my brows done elsewhere and try threading because I wasn't trying to spend $11 plus tip to get burns on my face that last 3 weeks only to come back to pay another $11 plus tip and get more burns. I told Kim about the issue and she offered me a free waxing, but I just didn't want to bother. Overall, I really love this nail salon and I'd recommend their nail services to anyone and everyone! read more

Special pedi was very thorough for $22. Had 2 technicians working simultaneously so I was done and dry in an hour. Kim introduced me to the other patrons. Its def not a high end fancy smancy salon, but its warm. Clean, and efficient. All the girls are so sweet and the owner is a hilarious ball of energy. !!!! I have never enjoyed a trip to the nail salon. You will not like her if you have no sense of humor or enjoy a pompus uppety type salon ...sry. But she is on the ball. On top of her clients making sure they are comfortable and being taken care of and very fairly priced. Went today for a girls day with my best and we will now be making this our monthly salon ritual. I will never step foot in this nail salon again!!! I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new nail salon so I decided to try Kim's. I only wanted a gel manicure but was pushed into getting a pedicure too. When I finally agreed, I went to look at the colors and did not see any I liked in their limited options. So I told Kim that I'd rather just get my nails done like I originally planned, but she told me they already had the water set up and forced me into a pedicure too. Then, they didn't even paint my toes on the pedicure chair! They moved me out to move someone else in, and painted my toes in the corner of the room with the nail technician on the floor. Then, when I finally got my gel nails done- and the woman said she was done I noticed of my nails had a giant white spot on it underneath the gel. I brought it to her attention and she rudely told me it was my own nail. I said, well my nail wasn't like that before... Then Kim came over and I showed her and she told me it was my nail as well. I was very annoyed at this point and just said okay. All I wanted to do was leave. I was charged $50 for a horrible nail job- and to top it off one chipped the next day!!! Kim is pushy, loud, obnoxious and rude. This was the most unrelaxing nail experience I've ever had and I will never go back. I urge you to find your nail salon elsewhere. read more
