Why can't they install an eom item I bring in? Instead charge overpriced item plus obviously time and labor

My family has been taking cars to Mr Kim's for over 15 years and the prices have always been fair nor have I ever had to worry about him trying to fix somethings that wasn't broken. The staff are friendly, the mechanics are professional, and the work gets done relatively quick. Mr Kim himself can come off as a bit of a grump, but he is just honest and has opinions like most folk that have been in the repair business for a long time. He and his staff have done everything for me from engine replacement to more trivial repairs like replacing starters and fuel pumps on multiple cars. Unprofessional, scammers. Do not go here! I brought my car in to have the rear bearing replaced. They called me with a quote of $1700 claiming that I needed to replace the entire axel and some other things in the car. I told them I would just come pick up my car since I had been quoted a fourth of that price elsewhere. When I arrived to pick up my car it was parked on the street unlocked. After leaving I picked up my son from daycare and began driving home. As I was driving my car began making a loud noise and I didn't feel like I had control of the vehicle, it was sliding and difficult to brake. I parked at a friends close by and when we looked around the car we saw the the rear tire was missing a lug nut. I called Kim's and informed them about what happened, I was immediately met with defensiveness. The woman was extremely rude and told me that they never removed the tire and had determined the repairs and quote just by looking at the tire. I was charged $70 for them to return me with a car that was dangerous to drive. read more

Nice bodywork done! They made my truck look new. They even detailed whole truck after the bodywork done on one door, Which was under the shortage. But then they called all the dealers and found out that one of the dealers has a customer cancelled the door replacement. Very dedicated. They work on Saturdays too. Cannot be happier. read more

A few months ago, my father brought his Lexus in for some rear fender damage. I was so impressed with their professionalism. There was some miscommunication on the estimate and they were so respectful,and accommodating. My father ended up getting his repairs done there, not only did they finish when they said they would, they did an amazing job. I couldn't even tell they did a repair and not a replacement. We had a good relations for many years until this happened...if you have a car you really love or a brand new car, I highly recommend DO NOT take your beloved car here...After what happened with my Lexus, I will NEVER EVER bring my business here...The owner never took responsibility of the scratches they put all over the driver door and front passenger door after replacing the chrome frames around the windows due to hail damage. We got into a huge argument since he would not take responsibility for scratches he put on my Lexus. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Been going to Kim off and on for years. as he was recommended to me when I first came to the area. Prices here will never give you a heart attack -- they are very reasonable. Each and every time I defect from Kim and go someplace else I am reminded of the painful monetary gougings to be found elsewhere. Kim is a thorough and conscientious mechanic and his employees are the same. They are honest and will never advise unnecessary work. On a few occasions it has taken a long bit of time to get done, but that is a small price to pay for the great job they do and the fair prices and treatment.
