I was impressed with my stay at Kimpton Marlowe. It is rare to find a dog-friendly hotel that doesn't charge extra fees for pets. I'm IHG platinum so I was able to check-in early and was upgrade to a corner room on the pet floor. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday so the staff left a birthday card along with some balloons and a platter of cookies in the room. The location is convenient. We enjoyed looking out the window to views of Zakim bridge. The Cambridge mall is within walking distance while downtown Boston is a short drive away. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant the food was amazing. I would definitely stay here again when traveling with my pet.

Nutcracker elegance at MIRACLE

There's something magical about a holiday popup at Christmas, especially when it's called MIRACLE. We ventured into this gasp-worthy gem in Cambridge MA and still can't stop talking about the good time we had. The cocktails come in adorable mugs. I chose the SantaRex, because: CUTENESS! The whole place is decorated. Tinsel, characters, full-sized nutcrackers, ornaments. Just WOW! My Christmas wish? I wish this MIRACLE could stay open all year!

As soon as we drove up, there was a beautiful man who helped us with our next steps. He let us unload our luggage, and he told us where hotel parking was. I brought the luggage in while my husband parked the car. The front desk was incredibly helpful, happy, and welcoming. We were visiting Cambridge to see my son's new job as a PhD post-doc at some university named Harvard? (LOL) We got a room with an amazing view of the river, and the room and view made up for all the traffic to get from Logan Int'l to Cambridge. (How do you people survive this daily?!) The beds were perfect, the room was large enough for all of our luggage and technology. The shower had amazing water pressure. The room was exceptionally clean and modern. We ate breakfast in our room -- the restaurant in the hotel does not do room service, so my husband had to grab it and bring it up... but dinner, we went down to the restaurant and it was so much better than the breakfast. The service, the food, the drinks - all wonderfully prepared. I will likely stay at this hotel every time we come to visit my son. BONUS - it is connected to Cambridgeside, a mall that has so many offerings as well, including a food court that puts other malls to shame.

Kimpton Hotel Marlowe in Boston is a nice and beautiful hotel that looks rustic and elegant. When you enter the property there is a roundabout in front of the hotel to drop off or pick up guests. The free all day bottled water at the lobby is a big plus. There's a bicycle rental at the front, and a small book shelf where you can borrow books. The staff are courteous and accomodating, ready to help. Rooms are clean and spacious. Lobby and hallways are well decorated. I enjoyed my stay and hospitality from this hotel. Check it out!

Miracle bar inside

My favorite Kimpton in the Boston area (and now only Kimpton in the area) is back! After some important conversations with the GM, I cautiously booked a weekend stay here after less than stellar stays over the last two years. Communication is key and this team is listening. The dialogue prior to my stay was important and gave me faith this property cared about this loyal customer. Upon check in, I was greeted with kindness. Our beautiful room was on the top floor and had a jet tub (which I love). We went back down to wine hour which is from 5-6 and then waited in line for The Miracle Bar (a pop up in the lobby bar of the hotel). Took a little while, but we made friends with others in line. Would love it if guests had the inside track to get reservations or first drinks here. the bar is super cute and is something patrons look forward to every year. After one round of drinks there, we went to the hotel restaurant called Bambara. I'm a huge fan of this place and was happy to see Chef Adam still at the helm. Staff was gracious and treated us like gold. See the restaurant review separately. This location is great in Cambridge. Self parking is an easy option with the garage just below, but shared with Cambridgeside Galleria. I was elated to see they added three Diamond Elite parking spots in front. They're not monitored though, so non-elites use these spaces too. Kimpton's are pet friendly and do not charge to bring your furry family members. I didn't have my fur kids with me on this trip, but management was kind enough to think of them too. So happy with this last stay. Thank you Joe, Tara, Sophie, Elijah, Matthew, and Chef Adam. See you again soon.

Happy hour

We love the Kimpton Hotels, first it is dog friendly and they don't charge a fee for pets. They have bowls and treats available and pet care services. Next is their 5-6 pm free wine. A nice time to spend some time with friends or get to meet new ones, our dog certainly did . This particular Kimpton has a nice art installation at the entrance of the hotel, a nice armillary. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. We've never had a bad experience at the Kimpton (this is our 3rd Kimpton).

I liked this Kimpton. The wine hour was fun with some decent wines. The rooms are relatively large and comfortable although my bed had a little sag. Those with pets are treated very well without hassles. There is a mandatory amenity free which gives you nothing of value which is annoying. Staff were pleasant and the hotel is well located

This is a beautiful hotel! It is located in Cambridge and seems like a hidden gem. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I had to change rooms without an issue. One restaurant is onsite, and there is valet and self parking. To self park, you need to take a right just past the main entrance. There is a sign, but hard to see at night.

Tell me you're staying at a Boston hotel without telling me you're staying at a Boston hotel =)

My daughter and I spent a week in Boston over New Years, to celebrate all things hockey. I picked the Hotel Marlowe because I enjoy the Kimpton brand, and the Marlowe was conveniently located near TD Gahden and the T at Lechmere. We ended up paying a bit extra to have a river view, which I'm not sure was entirely worth it. The housekeeping was excellent, the staff were all friendly, and we enjoyed the winter pop up bar in the lobby. Next time I'm in town for a game, I'll be staying here again!

For the holidays, they have cute little miracle bar pop up next to the Bambara bar. Such a cute vibe, the drinks are nice. The decorations are so festive and truly adds an enjoyable time with friends or family. We also had some chicken wings and friends and they were delicious! They're open until the 24th of this month.

It's whats on the inside that counts! This tiny hotel has a lot to offer. When you pull into the drive-in front entrance you are wow'd by the decor. Looks like it has been recently renovated. The rooms I felt could have been better since it's a Kimpton brand hotel. Nonetheless, they were pleasant and up to date. Outlets easily accessible next to the bed. Large flat screen TV mounted on the wall. A fridge and a safe accompanied the room. This hotel has a 2nd floor with rooms for events such as weddings or business meetings. It also has a mini gym room up on the top floor with new equipment: treadmills, dumbells (up to 50lbs), a pully machine, and a few kettle bells. The restaurant on the main floor was good, but the menu is limited. The burger was super juicy and delicious, but a tad small for my liking. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating! I was very pleased in my dealings with many of them. There is a parking garage below the building, and also valet. The price difference is self parking $30 vs valet $45 (plus tips).

After traveling through Italy and Spain and staying in some really nice resorts IE Ritz Carlton, JW Marriott in Venice we were a little skewed in our experiences with those hotels. Then we took a family trip to Boston and stayed the Kimpton Hotel Marlow. Rooms were very nice and the location was excellent. You share a parking garage with the Mall and even greater bonus they have EV Charging stations for our EV rental! Above all was the service. You can have lots of amenities but without the customer service it's not worth it and the front desk was super accommodating and took care of whatever we needed.. I will be looking to stay at more IHG hotels in the futons I travel for business and personal.

I'm just happy to have gotten to stay here. C booked it for our first night in Boston. I had no idea what to expect, or where in the world we were staying, but was pleasantly surprised by the digs when we got there. We do some unique traveling. Mainly in the way that we actually take trips. We leave town with only the first night stay booked and wing it from there. We do this for spontaneity, to always keep things fresh and new, and to avoid losing money in some cases because of flight delays or changed plans. This last trip was a nine day haul around the Northeast Coast. This one was great and I have lots to share, so buckle up! ;) Night one: Excellent check in. Easy valet experience as you can just leave your vehicle on the curb and they come get it later at some point. Martha Stewart's flunky designed the place, but don't hold that against them. It's quite comfy and cozy. I loved the room accommodations. The glass box overlooking the busy Cambridge City street is really cool. The windows even open so that you can get some fresh air in the room or even purge some "compromised" room air out if needed. I wanted to sleep with the window open but the city was too loud for me to endure while sleeping. Shower is nice but all of the bars are deceiving. I thought that we may have a multiple shower head experience, it was only a dual head junt.... All of the bars are just to let the things slide around. It's nice though. It's a bit quirky with only one ice machine in the basement and none on each floor. But down in the basement is a plethora of oddities and things to look at. There is a great conference room that you can rent and shit yourself in if you want. They have a good coffee maker down there too. No free breakfast. That's ok though. Come have a stay. You won't be left disappointed I believe. Staff were super courteous to us. We left something in the car after we valet, and they went and retrieved it for us with no gripes at all. Came and stay a while.... You will be pleased. '25 - 111/111

The property is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the surrounding Boston and Harvard areas are fantastic. Sadly, the customer service and management left a great deal to be desired, especially for a hotel charging $400-$500 per night. I arrived slightly early from my flight and attempted to check in around 1:30-2:00 p.m. I was told my room was ready, but I would need to pay an additional $50 to check in before 3:00 p.m. As a Hilton Honors Silver member with additional benefits through my American Express card, I found this unnecessarily rigid. Apparently, an available room is available in theory, but not necessarily in practice. I tried using the Hilton app and digital key to speed things up, but it remained pending for approximately three and a half hours. I finally gained access to my room around 5:30 p.m., after spending much of the afternoon waiting alongside at least a dozen other guests with luggage in the lounge. I was told I could wait in the bar area, only to haul my bags upstairs and discover the bar was closed. A simple heads-up would have saved me the exercise. Then came the concierge. Hoping for assistance, I was offered 500 bonus points for the hotel's anniversary in exchange for my Hilton Honors number. Sounds great, right? Except the conversation quickly turned into a 20-minute Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare sales pitch. I approached the desk looking for help with my room and somehow ended up attending a seminar I never signed up for. By then, I had family plans for dinner and a show, so I left the property. My digital key was still pending hours later, and I was eventually told through the app that I needed to return to the hotel to complete check-in and provide a card for incidentals. Something that could easily have been handled when I was standing there earlier now required another trip back. I finally got settled around 6:00 p.m., leaving virtually no time to enjoy the room before heading out again. At this point, checking into the hotel had become the main event of my Boston itinerary. The room itself was decent, but the shower alternated between volcanic and glacial, and there was no extra bottled water for morning coffee. I declined the $6 coffee downstairs, which hardly seemed worth the price. At these room rates, a decent cup of coffee and a little bottled water shouldn't feel like luxury upgrades. To be fair, Boston and Cambridge were wonderful. I enjoyed the local restaurants, including Sweet Cheeks for pulled-chicken barbecue and mac and cheese, and caught a show at Brighton Music Hall. My complaints are entirely with the hotel, not the destination. What bothered me most was how disconnected the staff seemed from the frustration unfolding around them. There were guests waiting, luggage everywhere, and little apparent urgency to resolve anything. I barely recall seeing a smile until checkout, when I asked where I could sit and rest before heading to Logan Airport. I don't expect perfection or special treatment because of my Hilton Honors status. I do expect reasonable communication, efficient check-in, and staff who genuinely care about the guest experience. This property has a beautiful setting and plenty of potential, but the service fell well short of the standards I've come to associate with DoubleTree. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously. I have friends planning to stay here soon, and I would hesitate to recommend the property based on this visit. Boston delivered great food, excellent entertainment, and a memorable trip. The hotel delivered a waiting-room marathon, an unsolicited timeshare pitch, unpredictable plumbing, and a morning coffee disappointment. And then, on my way to Logan Airport for my flight home, I realized the final piece of the puzzle: I had never been offered the traditional warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies--not at arrival, not at checkout. After all that, I couldn't even get a cookie to soften the blow. What a fitting end to an otherwise wonderful Boston trip. At $400-$500 a night, I expected a hotel stay. Instead, I got an extended travel adventure with several unnecessary plot twists. Hopefully, management can get this operation back on track before the next guest needs a travel itinerary just to reach their own room--and maybe keep a few cookies handy while they're at it.

If you can get a corner room, I HIGHLY recommend it for the light and openness. 2. The elevator is quite small -- I did fine, even with quite a large suitcase; just be aware for how many bags you bring or if you are a bit claustrophobic. 3. When I was there this past February, some construction was being done on the hotel. I was on the 5th floor and I heard nothing; the lobby, however, could be pretty noisy during the day. Again, not a reason not to stay -- and the hotel communicated well about the hours of the work. But if you plan to meet people there (for work or fun), you may wish to call in advance about the status of the construction.
