    Free breakfast!
    Maria G.

Loved my stay here! The good 1. Free soda and coffee by the reception desk 24/7 2. Nicely decorated (fireside!) lobby area 3. One single "public" bathroom located upstairs from the lobby so you don't have to run upstairs to your room if you need to use the restroom 4. free baked goods (see photo) for breakfast 5. Super close and convenient if you are visiting the university 6. They are able to store your luggage temporarily upon check-out 7. Reception staff are all super friendly and nice. I had to check out a day earlier than scheduled since the winter storm was not stopping, my request was effortlessly accepted 8. You do need your key card to swipe for building access after 11 PM (or midnight) for security reasons Other notes 1. Standard room (with two beds) is SUPER tiny but coming from NY, I am used to the crammed space. Just to note that the room I stayed in was even smaller than the ones that I have stayed at in New York 2. Because the bathroom is so small, the door cannot be fully opened. It can only be halfway opened Otherwise, it was an absolutely quaint hotel that is steps away from Harvard Square. I highly recommend this place!

Here's the lobby & I did video of the room

Hotel Veritas was unbelievably quaint hidden gem very close to Harvard Square. Upon walking in, the lobby is very handsomely decorated with a fireplace and beautiful pale blue decor. Comfortable couches are available for if you need to wait and directly behind them there's a small row of tables and chairs if you want to relax with the free coffee or juice. It's a very nice layout initially. The hotel staff were very accommodating and kind. Unfortunately I did not get their names but there is a pretty blonde young lady concierge and a darker gentleman manager. They did a great job making me feel welcome. The rooms are very small, but if you don't mind that, you'll love them. After traveling quite a bit in Europe it certainly doesn't bother me. Sometimes it feels like American hotel rooms as well as American cars etc. are way too big LOL. The linens are high count and everything is squeaky clean. The decor is just as lovely as in the lobby, understated, pale, refined. The floor is heated in the bathroom and don't ask me why but I just love that. It makes taking a shower in the frigid winter a happy experience. I can't believe how reasonably priced Hotel Veritas is at this time of year. I would encourage you to go now, or really any time. I had a great experience and I figure you will as well. Have fun!

    Twin beds!

Hotel Veritas is an absolute gem that's hidden just outside of Harvard Square (about an 8 minute walk). The hotel is modern, updated, really pretty, and pretty swanky. I stayed here with a friend last minute, and booked our room through Hotels Tonight. I got a great deal considering that it was the first night of the World Series in Boston, so I'm not sure what their normal rates are. When I asked for two beds, the people at the front desk informed me that they had reserved me a room with two twin beds. Not as ideal as two queen beds, but it was a last minute booking and was better than us sharing one big bed, so that worked for us. The front desk people were almost relieved that we were OK with it. There wasn't a fridge in our room, but the front desk was able to store two yogurts for me in one of their many fridge drawers. They actually offered to put a mini fridge in my room, but that sounded like a lot of effort for a one night stay and two yogurts. It was so nice that they even offered. They also had complimentary waters, tea, coffee, and juices in the lobby, which is SO NICE. I nabbed an orange juice on my way out in the morning. Their internet is also complimentary, which is - surprisingly enough - hard to come by in Boston hotels sometimes. Our room was reallllllly small, but very modern, super clean and very comfortable. We were only there for one night, so it worked just fine. The bathroom was also small, but was functional. The toiletries provided were fantastic - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, lotion and a small toiletry kit. Plenty of towels were available, too. Once I got to the room, the front desk called just to see how everything was and if I needed anything. It was really an overall great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay in Cambridge!

Location: Right in the heart of Harvard Square. Historic, walkable, and surrounded by great restaurants, cafés, and shops. The fall colors were unreal during my stay so wandering around the neighborhood was such a vibe. Lobby: Warm, elegant and classic New England. I loved the academic library feel with books lining the walls. Check in was a breeze and the staff were genuinely thoughtful. They walked us through all the FHR benefits and even handed us a welcome gift bag with treats. Such a nice touch. Room: A little smaller than expected, but very clean and charming with that collegiate Cambridge aesthetic. The view overlooking Harvard square was beautiful on a cloudy fall day. And the bed? One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Slept like a rock both nights. Overall this was very much a 5 star stay. Beautiful property, amazing location, and top tier service. I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm in the Cambridge area.

I'm just happy to have gotten to stay here. C booked it for our first night in Boston. I had no idea what to expect, or where in the world we were staying, but was pleasantly surprised by the digs when we got there. We do some unique traveling. Mainly in the way that we actually take trips. We leave town with only the first night stay booked and wing it from there. We do this for spontaneity, to always keep things fresh and new, and to avoid losing money in some cases because of flight delays or changed plans. This last trip was a nine day haul around the Northeast Coast. This one was great and I have lots to share, so buckle up! ;) Night one: Excellent check in. Easy valet experience as you can just leave your vehicle on the curb and they come get it later at some point. Martha Stewart's flunky designed the place, but don't hold that against them. It's quite comfy and cozy. I loved the room accommodations. The glass box overlooking the busy Cambridge City street is really cool. The windows even open so that you can get some fresh air in the room or even purge some "compromised" room air out if needed. I wanted to sleep with the window open but the city was too loud for me to endure while sleeping. Shower is nice but all of the bars are deceiving. I thought that we may have a multiple shower head experience, it was only a dual head junt.... All of the bars are just to let the things slide around. It's nice though. It's a bit quirky with only one ice machine in the basement and none on each floor. But down in the basement is a plethora of oddities and things to look at. There is a great conference room that you can rent and shit yourself in if you want. They have a good coffee maker down there too. No free breakfast. That's ok though. Come have a stay. You won't be left disappointed I believe. Staff were super courteous to us. We left something in the car after we valet, and they went and retrieved it for us with no gripes at all. Came and stay a while.... You will be pleased. '25 - 111/111

The shampoo, conditioner and lotions were (I think) Gilchrest and Soames -- if I have the wrong brand, know they were high quality and smelled wonderful. I did not eat at the restaurant while I was there, but colleagues of mine did and had positive things to say. I did avail myself of Door Dash a few times; very smooth ordering, as the hotel has a system set up for drop off and pick up. Was there this past winter during a particularly cold time and puh-lenty of snow; the front of the hotel was cleared and safe. A few suggestions: 1. If you can get a corner room, I HIGHLY recommend it for the light and openness. 2. The elevator is quite small -- I did fine, even with quite a large suitcase; just be aware for how many bags you bring or if you are a bit claustrophobic. 3. When I was there this past February, some construction was being done on the hotel. I was on the 5th floor and I heard nothing; the lobby, however, could be pretty noisy during the day. Again, not a reason not to stay -- and the hotel communicated well about the hours of the work. But if you plan to meet people there (for work or fun), you may wish to call in advance about the status of the construction. That aside, I definitely plan to make this my go-to hotel when I return to Boston.

If you're needing to be in Cambridge, near the universities or even Fenway, then this is a solid option. I arrived around 11pm and check-in was fast and friendly to my one night stay. Unfortunately, the Paperback Tavern had already closed and there's a lack of food options nearby. My room, a king with river view was quiet, other than what sounded like a neighbor bouncing a ball in the morning. Street noise was not an issue at all. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. I ate breakfast at the Paperback Tavern. As a Hyatt Globalist it was free but was rather simple and included eggs, choice of meat, roasted potatoes, and choice of bread and coffee or juice. The food tasted good and came out relatively quick. Checkout was easy and my bill was accurate. Prior to checkout I used the complimentary shuttle, which drops off at 4 nearby areas. My original post was written mid-flight, so here's a clearer version with better details…read more The hotel is very nice overall, but it doesn't always feel like a true 4-star experience. I came to Boston for a work trip, and honestly, they cut corners in ways that surprised me. I've stayed at the Hyatt House before, which is only a 2-3-star property (also paid for by my employer), and they consistently offered more basic supplies. Here, I had one single bar of soap for almost two weeks. There are no microwaves in the rooms. Anytime I ordered food or had something delivered, the person couldn't bring it up--which I get for security reasons--but it became inconvenient to have to go downstairs every single time. They only offer shuttle service to the Cambridge area, which isn't really helpful. Expanding it to other nearby spots would make it a much better perk. The price swings were probably the biggest shock. Some nights were over $700, while others dropped to around $150. I understand supply and demand, but that kind of fluctuation is extreme. And for nearly $6,000 spent in less than two weeks, you'd think breakfast would be included. Instead, it's an additional charge. Covering breakfast for the entire stay wouldn't even cost them more than $250. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very clean, but there are definitely areas where the experience could be improved.
