What a great start to my first trip to Boston! I wanted something special, not a generic hotel room. I fell in love with this place as soon as I saw the listing. I lucked out with a room availability and spent the next month eagerly anticipating my stay. Why? The neighborhood looked great and the room decor looked even better. From the moment my Lyft pulled up in front of the distinctive purple house I knew I'd picked the right spot. The owner is on site to check you in, answer any questions you have about where to go, and if you ask her about the area ghosts maybe she'll let you borrow the local psychic's book too. While I didn't sense any spirits myself while I walked around Charlestown, I still enoyed reading it. I loved the neighborhood. When you're in Charlestown you're in Boston but you're not IN Boston. You're a short ride or nice walk to the heart of the Italian restaurant filled North End. You can happily begin a trek down the Freedom Trail heading towards downtown and be there in less than an hour after seeing numerous historical sites. The first two Freedom Trail locations, Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution, are a short scenic stroll from the Moroccan. Along the nearby streets you'll find charming shops, tasty restaurants, and so many cute houses lining the way. It's very walkable and has a quiet neighborhood vibe that I loved much more than staying in the much noisier downtown area. And there's a convience store (777 Convenience) super close by for any beverages or snacks you'd like to stock in the fridge. As for the Moroccan itself, listed on Google and Booking as Moroccan Boutique Guest House, the rooms are all unique. The King Suite I booked is the entire 3rd floor. While I don't love a lot of stairs after a long day of walking, there's something charming about those old creaky stairs that led to my own little oasis. The house was built in 1799 if I rememeber correctly, which means you get all the hardwood floors and ceiling beams that some call wonky and others call charming. The fireplaces aren't for fire which was fine by me. The living room area had a tv, some books and magazines to read, a very comfortable couch for lounging, and kitchen with all the supplies if you wanted to buy groceries to be your own chef. Elizabeth does leave you some bowl packs of Cheerios and a small container of milk in addition to a large bottle of water. There's also a printed list of restaurant recs included with her welcome info that I loved. I already had a bunch of places bookmarked for my trip, but I assume the less Yelpy find that list incredibly helpful. The bathroom was my favorite of the trip. Spacious shower, nice tolietries, a decorative sink, and comfy bathrobes were a nice touch. The bedroom was exactly like the pictures! The bed, a giant marshmallow with soft sheets and purple drapes, king sized of course, was a dream. It was the most comfortable bed of the 4 of the trip. We missed it every time we met a new bed that was pretty meh by comparison to its softness. From the location to the furniture to decorative touches, we loved everything about this place. If you're heading to Boston check the availability. If you're lucky, there may be a room for you. The next time I head to Boston I hope my luck holds. read more

Highly recommend for it's location, in the heart of the Charlestown neighborhood and very close to Bunker Hill monument. Even though our room had abundance of space, charm, and amenities.....it must be noted that the property is over 200 years old and has the quirky qualities associated with the ancient architecture. Please be aware that the floor is crooked and creaky, the TV's are from the 1990s, very small and grainy resolution. But we did not travel 3000 miles to Boston to watch television! And if you are 6'3" or taller, the low ceiling height on doorways is going to be a problem! I'm 6'1" and barely cleared them.... The service is exactly as one would expect at this price, and they exceeded our expectations. Everything you could possibly want is provided, including all of the fixings for a gourmet Continental breakfast. read more

I don't even know where to begin on bragging about this place. The house is a purple gem in a quiet neighborhood. It is decorated and updated absolutely beautifully. It looks like something you would see in a magazine. The room was very comfortable and inviting. It had probably the best sheets and bed I've ever slept on. A delicious breakfast was available in the room, which was nice considering some B&Bs have those awkward community breakfasts in the dining room at a set time in the morning. The house was super clean. We also enjoyed sitting out in their lovely courtyard at night and for lunch. The neighborhood was great. There are convenience stores, a grocery store, the subway, restaurants, bars, and historical sites all within easy walking distance. We took the T and Uber/Lyft everywhere outside of Charlestown. I'm really glad we didn't rent a car, because parking and driving around Boston would have been a nightmare. Bill was our host for the visit because Elizabeth was out of town. He was wonderful. We couldn't have been treated better. You can tell that he takes great pride in the B&B. read more

If you are looking for a romantic getaway not too far from some of Boston's hot spots but yet with an exotic appeal...this is THE place to stay! I stumbled across this fantastic B&B online and fell in love with the pictures. I booked the Moroccan Luxury Suite and upon my arrival with my fiancé we were greeted warmly with champagne in our room for his birthday. This place is AMAZING and incredibly romantic. The decor and the details in the room are so gorgeous. Our host Elizabeth did a fantastic job with this place and making us feel at home. Can we talk about the bed and the linens? OMG extremely comfortable. We had the best nights sleep here. We do not want to leave and absolutely plan on coming back here the next time we visit Boston! read more

Best place to stay in Boston!! I have stayed here twice now, once last April, and this September. Elizabeth makes you feel so at home and comfortable, that its hard to leave! The location is perfect for walking around Charlestown and Bunker Hill... Lots of history! Also, the North End (little Italy) is right across the bridge, easy walking distance or short taxi! When I stayed in April, I walked across the bridge, and went to a Bruins game at The Garden! Both units are very roomy and the attention to detail is unreal! The beds are big and super comfy, and Elizabeth provides everything you could ask for. Even down to fresh juice and milk with bagels and muffins! It was amazing! My wife and I recently stayed at the Moroccan Luxury Suites and were married in the garden of the Inn. Elizabeth did a wonderful job on every detail of our special day so all we had to do was relax and enjoy ourselves. I cannot stress enough how gracious of host Elizabeth and Bill were and how beautiful they made our special day. We began our stay in the newest and smallest room, the Silk Road Suite, which was bright and wonderfully furnished. It was perfect for us as we explored Boston and the surrounding areas using the "T". The linens were some of the softest I have ever slept in. We moved to the bigger and extremely luxurious Moroccan Suite, for the last few days of our trip. All I can say is WOW! I never wanted to leave. It had all the comforts of home including a full kitchen. Once in the room you feel like you have been transported to Marrakesh instead of Charlestown Massachusetts. It was the perfect pre-wedding honeymoon. Do not waste your money anywhere else in Boston. This is the only place I will ever stay while there. read more

Decor is really lovely, and the bed is soft, large,and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped with all the amenities, including continental breakfast. Oh my goodness, I can't say enough positive things about this place. The owners are very personable and kind, Elizabeth the owner emailed me just to find out when I would be checking in and that set the tone sweetly to begin with. Once you get in, the decor is unbelievable. We were lucky to stay in a large suite, I wasn't sure where we were going to be put that evening, as I think there are a few smaller rooms and a few larger rooms (I could be wrong). This suite where are my sweetheart and I stayed was incredible. It entered into a large bedroom which led into a living room type of place, complete with fireplace and gorgeous leather couches. Oversized bathroom with bidet and gorgeous sink. Everything hangs together so well to make it the perfect romantic experience. The decor is truly over the top in the most beautiful way. Luxe rich colors, very fine linens, beautiful amenities set out such as breakfast in the morning and tons of coffee (yeah you guessed it I need at least two cups!!!). I was also shown the smaller suite which was beautiful in a very different way. The same perfect decor just a little smaller and more cozy. I would also like to stay in this room, when it's available. The canopy bed made it really special. Oh and the awesome Chainmaile shower curtain was super neat! I would recommend this place to anyone upon your visit to Boston. 100 stars! read more

I would give a million stars to this place if I could. We stayed there in April and I thought I wrote a review then but recently realized that it didn't work for some reason, so I want to be sure to share how amazing it was. First off, the house is gorgeous and nestled in a quiet, historic neighborhood. But nothing, even the pictures online, could have prepared me for how beautiful the room was. The care and attention to detail can't be beat. It was like being transported to an exotic land and no stone was left unturned. Perfect for the romantic weekend we had hoped for. There was a little kitchenette outfitted with sassy retro appliances and tons of food for breakfast and snacks, also a chilled bottle of wine. The bathroom was like a spa while still managing to keep true to the vibe of the room. The owner was sweet and helpful while giving us our privacy. Also, the value of the room, vibe, and food procisedu cannot be beat. I would live there if I could! read more

There are not enough positive things I can say about this beautiful place. The decor is so beautiful and unique. It's super clean and the owner Elizabeth has everything and anything you could possibly need. We forgot toothpaste, guess what? Elizabeth had some. We didn't have aleve but Elizabeth brought us up some. The Moroccan suite is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. It's like a one bedroom apartment. Huge bedroom with fireplace and large king bed. Huge bathroom and walk in closet. Huge kitchen and living area with another fireplace. Plenty of windows and light coming through! I proposed to my gf in the Moroccan suite and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. I asked Elizabeth if she could do something special for us and she said she will take care of it. She got us 2 bottles of wine and decorated the suite with rose petals and votive candles all over. While we were on our way back from dinner I texted her and she lite the candles. What a perfect way to spend our "babymoon." The Moroccan suite was elegant, luxurious, and cozy all at once. We marveled at the beauty of the details around us, constantly re-discovering them as the natural light hit them differently throughout the days and nights. We also so appreciated the attention to ambient lighting throughout the space. The décor has sparked our interest in the cultural traditions of Morocco and the surrounding region, and the books and information provided by the proprietors on design in that region helped us to start to get our feet wet. The proprietors really helped provide a special setting for us and for all guests, through special touches like a bottle of wine, candles, and gorgeous flowers throughout the suite. They greeted us upon our arrival, were very generous in helping with luggage, and offered to ride with my husband to the parking garage if we needed to park there and walk him back to the suites so that he wouldn't have trouble finding it. They were also very easy to communicate with about any needs we had while we were there, such as replenishing breakfast even though we would be in the room all day, and getting more firewood. They provided excellent information in the suite, and via email in advance, about the neighborhood of Charlestown and other Boston neighborhoods, with great suggestions about places to see and eat, and history of the area, as well as information about the art in the suite. We enjoyed our conversations with them. By staying in the Moroccan suite we had our own little apartment for the weekend, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It was a wonderful escape, and nice for our preferences that breakfast was brought to our room rather than provided in a communal space. This is a perfect suite to celebrate any event or just life. The Moroccan Suite itself is absolutely beautiful. When we found it, we fell in love with the cozy setting and gorgeous furnishings. The photos do not live up to the true beauty though. The skylights allowed tons of sunlight to stream through and the furnishings made us feel like we were truly in another country. From the fireplace stocked with wood, to the pastries ready for breakfast, the amenities and services provided go above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. It puts "fancy" hotels to shame. Both Bill and Elizabeth are so completely welcoming and such gracious hosts. They make themselves present but never obtrusive. Each morning when we left, they would make sure our little home-away-from-home was restocked and we came back from exploring the city to find a tidied space with fresh goodies to enjoy. We were even asked if we would prefer anything specific. The amount of care and emphasis placed on the guest is just phenomenal. We would highly recommend any of the Moroccan Luxury Suite rooms and are already planning a second trip to Boston if not to just stay in the room the entire trip! read more

Holy crap! This place wins B&Bs. From the moment I made my reservation (for the Silk Road Queen Room) for my boyfriend's 50th birthday surprise, Elizabeth was extremely responsive to my questions and requests, but really blew me away when two days before our stay, she emailed to let me know there was a cancellation and offered to upgrade me to the Luxury King Suite at no additional cost! And she went way above and beyond to make sure it was a really special celebration. From a bottle of champagne chilling on the coffee table with a personalized note, fresh red roses throughout the suite, to a rose petal heart with my boyfriend's name in the middle of it on the bed! Speaking of the bed, warning: you will never want to get out of it. The whole place is sick. One amazing detail after the next: decorations, luxuries, provisions, gifts... nothing is overlooked! Elizabeth truly has a gift for interior design, hospitality, and general awesomeness. She even offered to help pay for a parking ticket I may have gotten (but didn't)! So happy I discovered this spot, right in Boston! Couldn't recommend it more. read more
